Love how you did this episode, mae! You are so right. We moved here for the beautiful warm weather and the sun, but we both now prefer the Rainy Season! We also question where all this construction will lead, so sad to see nature being slowly eaten up by construction.
Another great video. My wife and I visited Costa Rica last year to scope the possibility of moving there soon. We were in the Grecia region, La Fortuna and the Arenal lake areas. We plan to visit again this June/July the Tamarindo region in Guanacaste. I have never paid too much attention to southern CR since private schools are not readily available for our 8 and 6 years olds. Guanacaste is very much like here in Texas and growing food is a challenge. Complete opposite of the southern regions of CR. TBH, if I had it my way, southern Puntarenas would be my #1 location. I'm a tico and can fit anywhere out there, but my American wife and kids are so used to Costco-like shopping and western style amenities, that I would have a tough sell convincing them into giving places like Uvita a try.
It depends greatly on the area. If you are in the deep shade of the jungle it can be bad, but here in Uvita it is not usually too bad. Near sunset they come out a little, but they are not fans of the hot sun any more than we are. That being said , always bring some bug repellent with you just in case. It is expensive here.

Yes, bring on the rain🌧️🌧️⛈️🌦️
Photo comparisons are great, Ed! And you can never go wrong with Claire de Lune behind your poetry.
We could even do a more extreme comparison when the river gets super high.

Maybe if you keep on visiting they will change their minds
Love rainy season. Get things done in the morning. Way fewer tourists, prices low, colors are popping.
My feelings exactly 🌧️🙂👍🌦️
Very apt music choice, Debussy, under the poetry. Nice work, Ed.
Thanks Dennis, this is a pretty inspiring place🙂👍

Your poem set to Claire de Lune was absolutely beautiful and beautifully executed. AND the way you wrote it to fit the music so well...
Ahhh! Debussy
