    Fantastic video, I've borrowed a few times and I treat it like a child. I've never lent out and don't think I will ever haha!

      With that mentality, you can borrow anything from me homie!

    I feel your pain. I lent one of my favorite movies to someone about two years ago and I have yet to see its return. That's like... theft!

      8 years! That's insane! I would definitely go up to that person and say "hey man, I was wondering if I can get that movie I let you borrow back, did you like it?" lmfao!

    I have always had a strict no borrowing policy. The few exceptions are people that are just like me with huge collections and I know it will be well taken care of because they know how to treat a disc. I have never let a slipcover go with the movie though. I always keep the slipcover with me. People always say I overreact and am insane when it comes to this subject. They just don't get it.
    ...I always tell a person that ask me to borrow a movie to just go ask their precious Netflix account since physical media is dumb anyways.

      Oh man that's a good point! So many people tell me that owning so many movies is a waste of space and money and digital is better...then here they are wanting to borrow something they can't find anywhere lol.

    hahaha I loved this video man -- im the same way. I rarely let people borrow my stuff because they never watch it right away. I always have to wait a month with a huge hole in my blu ray collection why it patiently sits on my friends dresser in his room haha. When I borrow stuff I watch it right away and make sure I give it back really quickly. Also, not only is a loaner case a good idea but when you borrow something from someone else, its important to take a picture of it when you FIRST get it so you cant be blamed for any damages you may or may not have made and vice versa. Its best to just buy it yourself and not loan stuff out hhhaaaha

      Telling people NO is always so awkward, they usually think I'm joking then immediately realize that I'm an ass lol

    I do something similar to what Ashley does, I give the person the disc in a old CD jewel case. But that was the last time, that disc has not returned. My new thing is holding off, then waiting for the movie to get cheap enough on amazon. Then I would just pick the person up their own copy, because....fuck it. I'm probably gonna have to replace mine 4 times out of 10 anyway.

      you gotta stop lending out your copy of Spice World man

    Totally agree lol friends borrow my shit for months on end and then have the nerve to say "all those movies you have and you're worried about the one I'm borrowing??"when I ask for it back! nothing worse than an empty spot on the shelf

    Hahahha I know exactly what you mean. It happened to me so much times. Now I won't almost anyone borrow my blu-rays. And when i do it is almost every time in blank cases. But to
    The most people I explain movies are my hobby so that's why they can't borrow them.
    Back in the days when I got some dvd/bluray back and it was scratched/ sticky/ broken (one time the whole dvd was broken in 2 parts) than my day is really ruined and I'm very pissed all day. So that's why I almost never borrow anyone a movie!
    (Sorry for my bad English, not my first language 😝 hope you understand 😀)

    hahaha I do the same thing I give the dvd in a blank case, my steelbooks, digibooks never ever leaves my house, I don't like people even touching my stuff. lol

      It's so much better that way, if anything happens I still have the bluray and the original packaging.

    Actually found movies that my sister borrowed UNDER the TV stand.

    I only let my brother borrow my movies because he's doing it for a good reason just showing high quality films to his girlfriend and he always returns it in the same condition because he knows my love for my blu rays lol great topic Elias!

      I'm the same way. I use to let so many people borrow just cause I didn't want to look like an ass, now it's just close of the closest people. (the one's who are willing to sign a contract with their lives)

    • @GuerraMovieHouse
      @GuerraMovieHouse  8 лет назад +1

      Yup, the worst thoughts always go though my head as I'm handing it over..."will I ever see you again? is he going to hurt you? will you forgive me or even remember me? "

  • @AnnieThyme
    @AnnieThyme 8 лет назад

    haha! I don't really lend anything out these days and if I do it's never something no longer available on amazon and the person is aware if it's returned ruined they are buying me a new one- I started doing that after a friend borrowed makeup for a dance at college and destroyed all my eyeshadows- I just quietly seethed so now I say what I expect before I lend anything.
    My brother is the worst offender of discs to the point I won't even let him put them in the player as when he takes one out he sets it ANYWHERE- the final straw came a few years back when he set it face down on his dinner plate... I mean !?!?!
    Last year he bought my dad a dvd player and thought he could just borrow whatever he was interested in from me- I flat out refused. That would no doubt be a direct line to never speaking again! 5 or 6 years ago I tried to get a cd player set up for my dad in his den. I set it up got it playing and went to finish something else- he called out it had broken and was no longer playing. I figured it was bc I hadn't used in ages and went and got another from the closet. before too long I was summoned- the second one now broken because he had moved it while playing and set in an damp, drafty window on a -30*c day. The part that reads the discs had shattered! I was so unimpressed and to make matters worse when I went to play the cd I had put in for him I had to go scour his den and found it being used as a coaster!! although not everybody understands why I will absolutely not lend to certain people I thinkbin this scenerio I am more than justified! glad to hear I'm not alone in the lending anxiety!
    I hope you and the family are ahving a great week! 😊

      Oh may God what a story! I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, most might not think that it's a big deal but I definitely get it! The worse my dad does is return the movie with the wrong disc in the case, then I have to go over and search through all his cases to find the right movie lol.

      ***** I wish that was the worst story I had for dsic offences from family! It's good to know I'm not alone! :D
