- In todays video we're exploring how what would happen if chest could walk in Minecraft. To visualize my ideas I created a datapack that adds these new mobs to the game.

I had an actual scream in the datapack when I wrote the script, but replaced the sound effect later for copyright reasons. ^^

You should make something that brings your items to you if you forget them. Like, if you forgot your sword then you can type sword into it and it’ll walk/fly (whatever is easiest) to get your item from a chest. But, it would also be cool if it could steal items from your or other players inventory’s. I’m not sure what the thing could be so you can make it as easy to make as possible!

For people trying this in 1.16:
in the "main.mcfunction" function change the @e[type=zombie_pigman] in line 64
to @e[type=zombified_piglin]

I've just realized, you've basically created the polar opposite to Striders:
Chest is hot headed ; Striders are chill
Chest dies in fire or lava ; Striders die in water
Chest can attack ; Striders are passive
Chest can walk on water (it's wood, so it should float) ; Striders can walk on lava
Chest live in the Overworld ; Striders live in the Nether

If you were really sadistic you could have made that random item a stack of diamonds.
I made a diamond farm by continuously summoning withers, killing them using a raid while the villagers are scared so iron golems spawn then the wither stars get dropped on a chest and angry chest comes out and kills the wither as well as dropping diamonds
...It's just a mimic

I have a question I rather frequently ask myself: How does one deal damage to any mob using commands, as undead get healed when using the minecraft:instant_damage effect.
You can take a look at the datapack if you want. I basically have an "ET" (Entity-Type) scoreboard objective and set it to 1 for all entities, then reset it to 0 for all entities that don't count as mobs, such as minecarts, arrows, armorstands etc and the one with inverted damage control (zombies etc.) to 2. Then I can simply apply damage to the ET=1 score and, healing to the ET=2 scores.

You should make a attack on titan mod
Perhaps you could create its cousin, the “Ender chest”? It behaves the same way as the regular chest except for one thing, it’d constantly teleport to you if you try to escape.
On an unrelated note, I’d love know how you make smooth vertical movement (such as the legs from the walking house).
