Simon Fordman has 80 years of knowledge in a 25 year old package...his patience is singular and his experience unprecedented...plus he has a great kitten...well done
Fordman has raised the bar on RUclips video so high that I now can’t watch most of the junk I used to watch. Multiple camera angles, thoughtfully executed, spot on editing , and great sound quality. This is cinematic in every way. And the content, one great old vehicle after another brought back to life. Can’t wait for the next one.
I do, too. Except for the fact that I like to watch videos like this while *I’m* working, and these kinds of videos require you sit there and do nothing but watch for 2hrs. Maybe that’s fine for retirees, but I got stuff to do.
Nobody makes a will it run vid like you. Not having to incessant drone of a twangy accent or the feeble attemp at humor, not to mention their face stuck in front of the camera while droning on, is refreshing. The unique shots you post are awesome, specially the ones when pittin stuff back together. Just great man. Like the parts are hopping on themselves ! Also like the thrown in bits unrelated to the vid like the cats. You are doing a great job and I know it takes a lot to edit these. I appreciate you doing so.
He dont speak or self incriminate simply because he's one of America's most wanted, I'm kidding, I'm betting he's somehow involved with filming for a career cause he's no dummy with what's going on here, everything from content, the style , who's in it, and a simple A toZ format without one word Said is the work of someone fimilar with production!!! Surely glad to have learned something on RUclips today that didn't downgrade my life!!!
This man is the perfect blend of Chewbacca, Robert Pirsig, and Francis Ford Coppola. God bless you, your family, and your cat. No rust too tough for you! You make MN proud!
We had this exact model truck on our farm, except that it was a short bed with a straight 6. We drove it until it was absolutely dead, and then we gave it to our son to take it to his high school auto shop class. They tore it down to the frame, built it back up from scratch, got an old V8 from the junk yard, bored it out until it was basically a 351 Cleveland, welded all the rust, and in the end it was as cherry as a coke. My son became one hell of an auto mechanic, and eventually went on to graduate college, and is now an airline pilot. His best friend is still and auto mechanic. I love these old trucks. I would take them any day as my daily driver, which I did, for about 10 years, after they finished with it. Love it.
i agree with all the comments on your mechanical skills, but my praise is directed at the the insane video/editing skills..few are on your level..plus you dig cats..
ikr. The cat scene is the cherry on top and serves as a deserving conclusion after the climax of the story has passed. I often find myself clicking the like button when I reach the cat scenes, if I hadn't already liked the video before that. This guy's video writing, directing and editing skills are surprisingly good indeed.
This was a great video. You showed how to do all sorts of stuff in a 2 hour video that has taken me a life time to learn. Very cool. This video is art and so is that poor truck.
Again I have to say ,, I really enjoy your format,, it’s so tiring to constantly hear the “we’re gonna this” “we’re gonna do that” “we’re gonna lose the shop” blah blah blah !! VERY refreshing to just watch quality work and problem solving without all the B.S. ,,, keep up the good work !! 😉👍🇺🇸

It would be fun to know what he enjoys more, mechanics or welding, although it is incredible to see him work in both, although welding with AR+CO2 gas is higher quality, you really see very good welds, I would never tire of seeing this guy work.
390 4 speed swapped, headers with glasspacks, slapper bars, and big wide tires in the rear. This truck was definitely a hot rodder's rig back in the day! Great work getting it going!
Most people, “That thing is a total rust bucket and not worth saving.” Simonfordman (with a wry grin), “Have you seen any of my videos before?” From my perspective, and probably most people’s perspective as well, your ability to see the potential in anything plus your can do attitude are the reason I’m here. Thanks. Great content.
Thank you for the great videos. I absolutely love old Fords. My first truck was a light blue f 100 custom. Three speed on the tree. 240 inline six. It's what I learned to drive in. That was 51 years ago. I've owned a number of old Fords. I lost count. I have 7 trucks right now. I've always done all my own work on them. I owned a 1968 AMC AMX 343 4 speed. It was one of the red white and blue paint schemes. A 64 ford custom with 289 Hi Po. A 72 gran torino sport 351 auto trans. A 69 cougar 351 Windsor with a 36 percent overdrive differential. It had an extended housing with a glass inspection plate on the side of it. It was factory it was not an honodrive. I was only sixteen and didn't know what I had. I sold it and a year later I read an article in the back of a hot rod magazine saying it was extremely rare, and if you ever found one, don't ever let it go. You could get going about 50 mph, and it would shift into overdrive, and the tachometer would drop to an idle. It also free wheeled no drive train drag at all when you let of the gas. It coast forever. And these were a few of my favorite Fords. In all times, I rebuilt rusty old brake systems and wheel bearing. I never thought to put the axel nut back on to yank out the inner bearing. It turns out you can teach an old dog new tricks. I probably have a couple I could teach you. Have a great day.

These really are feature films. The aspects of the lens, the soundtrack of mechanical motion. I love the way the feature films lay out a mechanical sense of resurrection and the image of the tires filling with air, the side view of the grill and headlights that give a sense of the truck is a living and thinking entity. The truck actually has a soul and emotion.
Thank You Thank You! That was worth every minute of the two hours. Excellent work AND videograpy/stop animation! I'm 74 and did work like this in my day. I think I'm gonna try and find an El Camino to bring back to life like you did this one and carry my Harley!

This is my first video of his. I had a 71 Ford truck I spent many an hour on. I always carried a spare set of points and condenser with me. Went from a worn out 360 to a 390. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. My new? (5yrs) Project is a 83 w150, first Dodge but still the same amount of work.
I'm finally getting the time to watch this. I just want to say again ( and I'm sure I will say so again and again...) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Your content is my very favorite on RUclips. Please keep fixing up these old cars and trucks. As soon as I have the spare funds, I intend to donate to your channel. Thank you again!
I like the West Coast Jr. mirrors. Those slotted mag wheels really make it look tough too. It gives a real '70s look. I have a '65 F100 factory 4x4 with the stock 352 FE. The area just under the door hinges where it meets the floor of the cab were extremely common to rust out on the 61-66 trucks. Those FEs, as you're probably aware, are great engines. Hope you hold onto this one. It fits into your stable well!
I just stumbled across your channel for the first time and watched it all. I've been a diehard Ford guy all of my life from age 17 on. Built my first street fighter at age 19. It was a '54 Ford Customline 2dr. sedan, blown up 223 6 cylinder and 3 in the tree. Put a 375hp 390 "police interceptor" in it, '55 wagon posi 4.10 rearend, slapper bars like on your truck, cheater slicks on chrome reversed rims in back and Cragar SS's on the front. Teardrop hood scoop. Hurt a lot of GM feelings with that car 🙂. That was in 1968 and there was some stout factory stuff out there to contend with. Anyway, just wanted to say you have a new subscriber and a little info on my me and my Ford addiction. Had many FE's over the years and loved them. You've got a good combo there. Kinda surprised it's a 2bbl. though. Nice to see a young guy interested in preserving the oldies.
Awesome, can't wait to watch it with my kids! They love the effects, mice counts and cats cameos. I enjoy camera work and attention to job well done. Cheers

No you’re not. We’re all here with ya.
Your skills are amazing, can't stop watchin these old beauties getting revived back to life again! Keep up the good work and thank you for keeping up the oldschool mechanical skills! Best wishes from Finland!
Your garage is a treasure trove... you have everything you need
I wish I had such a neighbor. Love all your videos. Can't wait to watch them after work.
Thank You Thank You! That was worth every minute of the two hours. Excellent work AND videograpy/stop animation! I'm 74 and did work like this in my day. I think I'm gonna try and find an El Camino to bring back to life like you did this one and carry my Harley!
Now I am on my way in my garage.
I am not in your leage Mr Fordman…. But I’ll have to do something.
Looking foreward to next program, no matter what car.
Love from Norway ❤
may Jesus bless you and your family❤
I just watched all the videos. I started repeating some of them. Thanks for coming back. Keep going, bro.
It’s alive! A few used pieces (looks like you’ve got a good source!) and a few new ones. Needs, well I’m sure you’ve already got a handle on those! Hey, Great Job! Hope to see more on this one and as always. Thank You for the ride!
Thanks for watching
If only I could produce 30 seconds of videos like this, I'll be the best filmmaker in my country
What is your country? I think you could do it. Take your time.
I do need to add a thumbs up to your videos. I have worked on the kind of projects you tackle since around 1976 or so. Your video style and technical content is wonderful!
When you first got that engine to fire up, it sounded like one of those WWII radial aircraft engines starting up!
Haha yea, that's definitely it.
Me too!
This is my all time favorite RUclips video, loved the moment the exhaust was installed and I heard that engine. So so many satisfying moments of this extraordinary made video, not to mention the know how and ingenuity displayed. Thank you for recording every moment of this amazing journey.
I had a 1976 F-150 with a 390, Holley 4V, C6. What a blast from the past!
Keep up the excellent work, Simon! As you can deduce, you have many fans. The photography is top notch on several levels.
This thing is crumbling into literal rust. Always impressive how you manage to replace and cleanup so many parts to get these things working again.
This is the best channel for those of us who know what get it going keep it going feels like. All well coexisting with the if it ain't broke don't fix it value mixed with a well needed maintenance. No big money on replacing all and or upgrade all. Bare minimum with maximum effort. Good stuff.
Wow, another home run. :) I love the methodical approach, ability to mix and match old carb parts, the exhaust work.... the whole enchilada. Bravo, Simon. This has become a collection of the best videos on youtube of its genre. But, the best part is how much I am learning.
For my money this is the #1 vehicle resurrection channel on RUclips.

You have mad skills, young man! Thanks for the video .
Probably the most majestic and satisfying exhaust header removal I have witnessed. The amount of times I have threatened those buggers with violence unknown before but have never followed through. One day when I am big! Another brilliant video. Thanks for taking the time to make and share it. Love your stuff.
Simon and jennings auto sports are about the only car you tubers I watch anymore
Both solid choices. Might I suggest Low-buck garage? He operates in a similar vein as Jennings and Simon, and has a number of fun videos.
It’s amazing what you can do with a vehicle, I love watching you transform these vehicles and make them badass. I will never stop watching.
Awesome videos, as always! Just straight truck, no stupid intro music or rambling. Winning video format!
These shots are incredible, how immersive they are.
We're totally there.
Thanks a lot, Simon.🙂🙂 (kc daylighters )
Your Torino sounds fantastic. Thanks for the excellent video.
I love how you play with your kitty after you do these awesome builds! I got seven of them that I play with!😸
This is my first video of his.
Another excellent video. Thank you for making them for us! Your work really does speak for itself!
Excellent work and cinematography Simon! ❤I can hardly wait for the complete restoration
What does FE represent??
Very satisfying starting a long idle engine. I did a ford v6 that sat for 15 years. Starting it recently I still get satisfaction.
I can't wait for a new video every time, greetings from Russia
Almost every week I think that this time you may have met your match and then you prove me wrong. My favorite show.
The slight aggression when you can tell he's fed up with something 😭
This is my favorite automotive channel. I enjoy it, and have no complaints. Hi from Texas
Another awesome video simon.👍 can't imagine how much work went into making it.🤔😳
Listen man, I watch everything you put out, but that shot out the rotten floor of the clutch fork... chef's kiss.
Hurst shifter, wides out back. No wonder the tires are bald. This was some wahoo's Burnout Machine for a while. :) Thanks for saving her, Dr. Fordman.
This is very relaxing thing to watch.
Im heavy marine industrial repairman and old american ford enthustsian.
Awesome, can't wait to watch it with my kids! They love the effects, mice counts and cats cameos. I enjoy camera work and attention to job well done. Cheers
... when the engine started to turn.... I raised my arms to the sky ! Congrats Bro !
Mister Simon, can you please pick just 1 talent? Cause mechanics and video editor is TOP NOTCH
From Argentina. I want to congratulate you for every minute of this video. What you do is a true work of art. Thank you from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
