BRILLIANT. Possibly an anti-hymn.dark satire. #Sheeran anti-type cast as evil/death/satan figure (the "You" of the lyric?) 'bad influencing'/destroying all those around him..and everything he/she/they touches. Excellent sardonic satire here ..from the effeminacy/LGBT under the hair dryer & costume ..to the eastern mysticism multi-armed Shiva reference ..to the unsuccessful attempt to corrupt the little girl. .to the surrounding WorldWarZ/zombies effect being 'badly influenced' by him/them ..etc. A lot of interesting detail here about kinds of corruption/vice influence. ✌ And in another video #Sheeran's plain stark acoustic version is also GREAT.
LOVE the reaction 🙌... quick fun fact That Ed sampled this song from Jimmy Somerville's 80s track 'Small Town Boys'... ruclips.net/video/88sARuFu-tc/видео.html again, awesome video, I'm shook 😂🙌
This song is sort of a recap of Ed's life before he became a father. How he was always out partying into the morning, doing crazy stuff. By the end of the video, you can see the 'bad habits' part of Ed being over and done with, which is why we saw the Ed we know at the end, strumming his guitar. This song is his goodbye to the fun and crazy times he had, as he is now ready to settle down and be a family man, which he said he enjoys very much. The meaning of the song could not have gone over your head any more than it did, it was painful to see. I hope this helps you understand what the song and video are about. Edit: also the 'Nothing happens after 2' is a reference to HIMYM episode titled 'Nothing Good Happens After 2 Am' which was essentially an episode about a train wreck of bad decisions during late hours.
This song is SO good and the MV is amazing. You sound disappointed that this isn't typical Sheeran but isn't that the mark of a great musician? Someone who isn't stuck in one style but able to play with many forms? Far too many artists today just rinse and repeat any marginally successful song they have. Everyone album sounding like the last one.
Ed said that he recorded the vocals in a whisper and the volume was brought up later. That's why it sounds so different. It's hard to tell just listening, but if you whisper-sing along with it you can definitely tell he was whispering. :-) He also said this is very different from the other songs on his upcoming album, and the rest are more typical 'him'. He had a song picked out already as the first release, but it was sad, and with everything that has gone on in the world in the last year, he though something dancy might be more fun. So he went back and wrote this - something in a different genre than he'd ever done before.
Haha people criticize him for always having the same monotonous style and then when he comes with a new style other people criticize him for experiment new things for him. Definitely he can’t make everyone happy
I can't help thinking that I heard the same hook somewhere. I tried to sing "As long as you love me" along with this chords it goes ok. So it is coming from the same time.
Actually it's about before he became a father and husband his bad habits of partying and eating fast food and one bad habit leading to another wen u are partying and how at the end wen ed changes to himself he saying no more bad habits he's a dad now x
@@paullytle3014 Yeah, I had to turn these two off and stop listening. They didn’t even listen to the words and try to figure out what the song was about. 👎
You so need to watch eds interview about this song and then u will understand its about his bad habits before he was a father u go out for one drink then u have more and more one bad habit after the other and if u listen to him live he sounds the same the rest of his album is the old Ed u really should find out what the song is about before u review it xx
It’s got that Synthpop, EDM vibe of the 80s. It’s a bit Smalltown Boy and a bit Enjoy the Silence. With production values of something that Calvin Harris would have done about 8-9 years ago. Good song, much better than Shape of You.
The video looks like a gentle dig at the superficiality of things like computer game automated "behaviour", and vampire movies, especially considering how it ends (on a "No Thanks" - politely refusing all that, and restoring the natural Ed). I wouldn't be surprised if his next songs go back to his original style. (Instead of "keeping up" with the fashions of ten or twenty years ago?). As far as the style goes, the more the video progresses, the more it looks like *Split Enz* style, and not like any of the schlock they schtick together in replications of the standard vampire movie, or in the "plotlines" of computer games. So you have a style that is heading quite quickly back to something more natural (except when being deliberately ridiculous to make the gentle little dig at the way people have fun sometimes). Split - WHAT? ... Enz ... as in Ends (of hairs) ... or N.Z. (New Zealand). *Split Enz* . They put on quite a show before they got really famous, but probably the best place to start with them/ test them out is with their better known songs: Like *I Got You* ruclips.net/video/YmQlBfxh4Us/видео.html
I'd better post one for Sean, too (although it's utterly unrelated, strangely enough). If need be he can just kill the sound, and stare lecherously at the screen while you biff him on the ears and call him insulting names. :D *Destination Unknown* ruclips.net/video/g1pahozFjK0/видео.html
Might it have some connection to the album *Bad Habits* by *The Monks* (where a prog rock band makes an album just to make fun of punk rock, and it accidentally turns into a hit) ... There's a spooky song called *Bad Habits* on the album, too: ruclips.net/video/mBtGNHkLt4E/видео.html
The Monks are probably more famous for their almost old-time rock-n-roll song *Nice Legs Shame About the Face* ruclips.net/video/hXPLtVfv9xE/видео.html (which also has to be understood in the context of the album being intended to just ridicule punk type music - like old time rock-n-roll, for instance).
Thank you for the latest episode of Musicians React featuring Ed Sheeran. Not what I expected after a 2 year hiatus. Sounds like techno pop. I miss the old Ed Sheeran, but I guess he feels he needs to grow, or was bored with what he did previously.
Curious to see what the rest of his upcoming songs will sound like.
Go listen to our music too: bit.ly/JuliannaSingle

There is an acoustic version of the song if it's more your speed.

When someone says they ain't hating about 30 times in a video it means they are hating lol

This is such a GREAT song...it makes me want to dance.....LOVE the video it was so fun.. I think it shows just how good of an artist he is really is.

He’s clearly just having a little fun for the video, he still dresses the same as always in interviews .
This song is already #1 in the British charts. He can do and sing anything and I love it. ❤️❤️❤️ Hes having fun. I absolutely LOVE this video!

You should listen to the acoustic version he did live.
Masterpiece Shivers, he is a Banger
I've never been a big fan of Ed Sheeran, but I think the video is really fun and the music is really, really good.
The bad habit is any addiction. Now rewatch the video with that in mind.
Yes! Finally, good lord these reactors are hyper critical.

Photograph was written before amazing. Not sure why he got sued.
This is the latest one, although he has a full band with him here.

Ed wrote Shape of You with the idea it would be for Rihanna--who do you think he wrote this one for?
They liked your comment without even replying 😂😂
The sequel to a team
Love to see your reaction of the loop version he released on his TikTok!
It doesn't sound like Ed Sheeran means they have no clue about Ed Sheeran
Please please please. You and your boy friend create a band with dovydos. Y'all have great chemistry together.
...🤡🤦 i don't know!😁😁😁 💨🎃🤣👿👹💥
ed? 🤨 that u?

In a interview Ed said he wanted to make a dance tune and the rest of his album is what we'd expect from him.
I preferred him in Game of Thrones
Dude do you even know about autotune 🤣
Yeah I was thinking from the beginning it doesn't sound very Ed Sheeran-ish, but I like it! It's a bop. The video was definitely interesting 🤔
🇷🇺👉♥️ hello! ...👉🙇✨🤗🎃
def was interesting
