It's a beautiful, serene song and it sums up the main core German values very well which is why it's a respected anthem. Also, having been a non-German Deutscher Fussball Bund supporter and die hard fan since summer of 2006, I can say with utmost certainty that race doesn't matter when enjoying football not to mention the national anthems. Heck i was wearing the German jersey and singing along to the lyrics when the World Cup came on. So much so that people actually thought I was German. But nope, I'm actually Korean American with US citizenship and passport. And the German players are just so damn sexy and their voices are hot when they sing. They play well and hotness has always been a huge bonus. Have u ever thought that maybe we like looking at them and not actually listening to the anthem?? All girls either want to be with them or, in this case, all you male commenters are jealous of them and want to be them but are just hating cause you're not them. Stop the hating and start some loving because Germans especially the football players are gifted with angelic genes :D :D ^.^ And they're soo damn courteous unlike Spain Italy Brazil and Argentina. And they just showed the entire freaking world in 2014 in Brazil that yes, although England 'invented' football and Brazil made it beautiful, Germany, yes, the great Deutsches Vaterland, OWNS football and REINVENTED THE CONCEPT OF THE BEAUTIFUL GAME in every sense of the term. Hallo 2010! I am from 2024 now. This fantastic German team would go through the semifinals, lost there against Spain, and ended up in the 3rd place. Four years later, the moment that we have been waiting for came true, Germany won the 2014 World Cup, defeated Argentina in the final, and even beaten Brazil 1-7 in semifinals. However, it has been a bit slow down after that. This generation came to an end after 2014, only Kroos, Muller, and Neuer stay playing to this day. The next two World Cups ended in disaster, even Germany could not manage to reach the round of 16, two times in a row, a bit strange indeed. Today, when i wrote this, Germany is just getting knocked out from the quarterfinals of the 2024 UEFA Euro. Ever National team should be for' real' Germans, French etc.. I hate that for example i French almost full of the team are players that have parents from africa and former French colonies.
