The theaters reaction to the ending was insane! As soon as the red and blue lights flashed, everyone had the same thought “A black man on top of a white woman, Chris is done for”. The cheers when Rod was shown were so loud😭
According to Jordan peele, the ending was supposed to be different. Chris was supposed to be busted and was sent to jail, but the ending was changed in order to make it happier.

The ‘whisper singing’ during the opening and closing credits were spoken in Swahili, and in English they translate to “Brother, listen to the ancestors. Run! You need to run far (Listen to the truth) Brother, listen to the ancestors. Run! Run! To save yourself listen to the ancestors!”
This translation is so incredible to me. I'm from Chicago. My ancestors (read: my great-grandparents) were among the first of the Great Migration to Chicago to escape racial terrorism in Mississippi. I've never gone South for the first 23 years of my life. Then, during a family road trip, we crossed the Mississippi River, and I literally had such a deep, profound sense of dread overtake my whole body. It was like multiple voices were confused and anguished, telling me to "RUN BACK NORTH. YOU DON'T BELONG HERE." It was extremely shocking.
I really appreciate Rod's role in the story. Normally, the protagonist's best friend would disappear halfway through the film, but instead, he gets to stick around, and save Chris, and the day.
Why am I just now realizing the parallel between Rose and Chris' mom? They both survive the initial injury, and die waiting by the side of the road for someone to come look for them, but nobody is looking for them. With his mom, he did nothing and feels guilty, with Rose he actively leaves her to die and feels no guilt at all. The screenplay is even better than I realized.
@@cloutxaddy4521 Not to mention that the father kept going on about killing deer, and then Chris uses a deer head to kill the father. He used a symbol that reminded him of his own powerlessness to take bake control of the situation. Genius writing
This movie has multiple layers and each is wildly fascinating beyond belief. Here's another example of what I'm referring to in the movie. Notice how every female in the movie dominates their husband/boyfriend/partner/significant other. Starting with Rose in the beginning of the movie. Rose questioned Chris about what he packed for the trip ( such as toothbrush, leisure wear, pajamas and etc. The mother dominated the husband and son.
On first viewing, it seems that Rose is arguing with Chris about the ID with the cop, to defend him from police overreach and profiling. Once you know the twist is revealedl and you think back to it, you start to realize it's that Rose didn't the cop to run and background check and leave a paper trail of Chris being there
That's a really fascinating detail! You also notice that when Chris and Rose first arrive at the house, Rose leaves her bag at the bottom of the stairs for Chris to lug upstairs, indicating that she's not as angelic as she seems...
One detail that I guess is overlooked (never see people mention) but that is pretty fkd up is that once everything is "done" and Chris is already supposedly going through the surgery, Rose hangs all the pictures on the wall again. It's like her "animal heads", her hunting trophies
I love the betrayal reaction when you guys realize the girlfriend is in on it. You were so set on her being the biggest help to Chris. From "I love her!" To "I hate her so much!". This is a great movie, for many reasons. The racial aspect is a big part, but when you learn that all the brain transfers are previous relatives/lovers it's a complete mind f***!
What's great about this is how you pick up on things the second time through. Rose doesn't face down the cop because of his racist bullshit, she just doesn't want a paper trail showing where Chris went.
@@AdamtheGrey02 He doesn't outright assume that though. It's very probable that he or another black person he knows had a bad experience with meeting racist parents. That's why he wanted to know if Rose told them; if they know he's black and invite them anyway, they're at least not going to chase him with a shotgun or shout slurs at him. It's not that he assumes all white people act like that, but some do and if the parents knowingly invite a black person he can be quite sure they're not going to attack him physically or verbally. That's not assuming, that's ruling out the worst possible outcome. Here's a logical answer to your "logical only if you don't think about it" question.
@@DerMoerpler He assumed it considering he didn't know them yet he got very nervous. His buddy did the same when he talked about White folks. Reverse that dialogue and the media would have a seizure. I'm also not the one claiming this is racism. I'm merely pointing out if you can conclude what the cop did was racist then what he did was also racist. He stereotyped them regardless of experience or not which is what the cop did. The cop could also have had his share of negative experiences from Black people or the cop could have been correct that a mere incident in that part of the country in this made up world would give him the authority to ask for everyone's ID. Also, the "worst possible outcome" that only came to his mind enough to want it to be ruled out was because they were White.

Early in the family part of the film, the dad says several things that have a different meaning in retrospect. When his parents died, he decided to keep them around - the servants. He actually meant to keep his parents around. Such a creep factor of 8 to their actions.
Another line that has different meaning when you look back is when the Dad says they had to seal off the basement because there's "black mould" down there, mould as in an object hollowed out to have something poured inside.

I was so excited to see you'd be watching this - it's probably my favorite horror movie! One of the many things I love about this film is that final scene when you're worried that the police are coming. Normally, the police arriving would be the happy ending to a horror movie or thriller; the point where you can relax and know the main character will be all right. But here, you are TERRIFIED by the idea. It forces you to see things from Chris's perspective, and sends a powerful message about the black experience in the US today. Truly a masterpiece.
I realize you don't want to hear this, but that scene isn't about the police - it's about women. Men have finally reached the limit of their tolerance for women (especially white women) who think they can use tears and lies to get everything they want. That's exactly the kind of toxicity behind the whole 'Karen' meme. Since they face no accountability, women have really come to rely on that method - and that's why it's so vindicating to watch it fail in that scene.
@@patwilliams4732 It's both, really. White women have been weaponizing the police against Black men for over a century and a half. White men don't need the pretext, they're mostly free to commit violence against Black people as they please, especially if they're cops.

The thing that first triggered me was when I was listening to the dad talk about the “deer”….. it’s just very similar to how some people feel about us. Idk I was on edge from the beginning
16:26 "I just want him and Rose to be together at all times and to not separate" ...if he didn't get out, they might have actually been together. This is one of the most creative horror movies from the last few years, it is SO GOOD! You should also check out the film "US" by Jordan Peele.
The actor who plays the brother is notorious for playing creepy, if not downright crazy, characters. He just won the Cannes Film Festival award for Best Actor for playing the real life role of an Australian mass murderer.
Honestly acting is mostly about the face. A lot of people could learn to act, but they mostly cast people based on how their face looks and what types of characters it fits.
If you haven't already seen it, I'd be willing to bet that Secondhand Lions (2003) would be right up your alley. It's a nice movie with a good ending that'll tug at your heartstrings.
I saw this movie in the cinema when it came out, the screen room roared in cheers when it revealed to be Rod in that car. Peele is so incredible as subverting expectations, and he does it effectively.

And once again I drop everything I'm doing to watch your reaction! Lol -- "Get Out" is *fantastic*, talk about hitting your directorial debut out of the park. Can't wait to see your reactions!
An interesting thing about the cop wanting the ID in the beginning. He wanted the ID because there has been missing people in that area. Plus the father said their house was in the middle of nothing, this is a good cover up for something happening there. This movie teaches you to be more observant of your surroundings, pay attention to details, no matter how similar they seem to be. And shows how judging people's characters on few minutes/ days/ months of interacting with them is not enough.
You’re the only reactor who’s videos I’ll still watch when they’re not films I already know or love. Found you because of LOTR, and watched them all since. And ngl I’ve watched the LOTR one many times cuz no one ever wants to watch them with me and even if they do they never appreciate it properly so I have to watch it through ur reactions 😂
I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves Popcorn in bed. It really is like watching a movie with a friend. Especially since a lot of the other reaction sites are, and this is a subtle difference, their sites are "WATCH ME react to a movie to the point that I am the focal point " as opposed to Popcorn in bed which is "watch a movie with me" . Hope that is understandable.
Cassie, there are so many little details to be found in "Get Out". The writing by Peele is amazing and intense. It's like a scavenger hunt wrapped within a suspense thriller movie.
This brilliant masterpiece was the debut of Jordan Peele. His second film, another horror film called "Us", is more scarier than this and involves children so I don't recommend you watch it, but thank you so much for your reaction, can't wait for the next one
Such a good creepy movie for sure. It's really good and the twist at the end when Rose was in on her families evil vile plans with brain transferring all along was a shoker when I first watched it. I'm glad Chris got his revenge in the end. I'm glad Cassie and Carly watched it and reacted to it. Get Out is one of Jordan Peel's best movies that he made.
27:29 The hope draining from Chris' face is some of the realest acting I've ever seen. In most movies when someone's kidnapped and tied up, they keep wriggling and screaming for help but I feel this reaction is much more natural and realistic
I am a huge horror fan. And I may be a little more tolerant because I've seen a lot of horror. But the thing is I don't watch horror because it doesn't scare me. I watch it for the thrill of being scared. I'm actually jealous of your terror.
The bit where the maid was "having a conversation with herself" was the real woman snapping out of it for a second, before the white woman inside tells her essentially, "No no no. Don't do that. Go back to the sunken place."

1:30 What I've noticed is that you two are really empathic which is why you scare so easily. I noticed the same thing with Reacts With Jax.
This reaction was so entertaining!...love watching you guys it's so funny. This is a great suspense/psychological thriller film. Keele is a genius!
Do you mean (Jordan) Peele?
@@callmeshaggy5166 oops, yes that's what I meant...my bad 😊
The fact that this was directed and written by Jordan Peele who is usually known for comedy ... It's such a great movie for his first directing debut.
Glad you both watched this film. You both went through the entire rollercoaster of emotions I went through when I first watched this movie.
Old girl was not standing up for her boyfriend, she just didn't want the cops to have his id information.
I love how you were already freakin out during the Blum House intro…..lmao
Having her sister here and seeing you sit through the the more messed up moments shows she is becoming a veteran lol
Watching this in the theater when it came out was insane we gave ron an encore
Absolutely love Get Out. A modern day classic. Easily one of the best of the last decade. Perfect thriller/suspense story that kept me on the edge of my seat the first time & every one since.
'Modern day classic'?
I wouldn't go that far.
You two are so adorable 😂. I’m so happy I found this channel a few weeks back and I have now binged watched everything!
Keep up the great work and I look forward to the next video…👏🏽
Same here
Thank you so much for reviewing this fantastic film! I’m so happy that it received so many well-deserved accolades and did great at the box office.
(Also, your sisters face when you talked about hitting the deer was priceless!)
17:55 This scene is so well played. You can literally feel her real self throbbing against her skull from the inside and screaming that it wants to get out.
Anyone else here watch "The Ritual"? A great underrated film that I think is perfect for the 'scary but not too scary' theme this month and I think she/they would like it.
Watch Man on Fire with Denzel Washington. Excellent excellent film.
"Creep it real"? 😂Your channel is a work of art, Cassie...
Hes a fantastic actor❤️
He has the face, and the creep factor is down packed.
Honestly acting is mostly about the face. A lot of people could learn to act, but they mostly cast people based on how their face looks and what types of characters it fits.
i know him from the movie Stonewall and he play the "weird" one
and the brother in The Last Exorcism
If you haven't already seen it, I'd be willing to bet that Secondhand Lions (2003) would be right up your alley. It's a nice movie with a good ending that'll tug at your heartstrings.
volumes between you and the movie were just right so I could watch the movie along with you and hear everthing.
I saw this movie in the cinema when it came out, the screen room roared in cheers when it revealed to be Rod in that car. Peele is so incredible as subverting expectations, and he does it effectively.
30:20 Don't know if anyone's mentioned this before, but notice how the WHITE milk is separated from the COLORED cereal...
Highly recommend Stir of Echoes if you haven't seen it yet
Yes!!! 👻
Great movie
FUN FACT: The ending scene with the cup of milk and bowl of cereal seperated was referencing them not mixing colors with white
Right off the bat, I love that "Creep It Real" T Shirt that your wearing. I have a similar shirt with the same quote "Creepin' It Real" but with a grim reaper instead.
Love watching your reaction videos.
Love when you're sister joins u 2 have a great chemistry
I'm more and more convinced that "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" 1948 is perfect for you two.
The brother played a creep on Twin Peaks The Return too. He has a great look for that.
Oh...that's where I recognised him from...thanks!
One of the best movies I've ever seen in my life. Glad you guys liked it too!
You need to watch more movies not saying this one is bad but..... There is alot of great movies out there.
@@coryH420 I've seen them all. Most suck. This one rocks.
@@DaleWinarski Are you talking about horror movie or just movie in general ?
Comparing her reactions to her sister's, I feel that Cassie is getting tougher, and that makes me proud in some way :D
_Stepford Wives_ meets _Guess Who's Coming To Dinner_ .
Carly has an amazing smile! Both of you are amazing! Really fulfill the Canadian stereotype.
Also, the cotton in his ears is symbolic of using a symbol of oppression to save himself.
Love how the face cams shook every time you ladies got jump-scared 🤣
You’re the only reactor who’s videos I’ll still watch when they’re not films I already know or love. Found you because of LOTR, and watched them all since. And ngl I’ve watched the LOTR one many times cuz no one ever wants to watch them with me and even if they do they never appreciate it properly so I have to watch it through ur reactions 😂
Same! I've actually spoiled movies I was admittedly never going to watch by checking out this channel.
You should check out Shan Watches Movies LotR reactions, best I've seen :)
You on the Patreon?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves Popcorn in bed. It really is like watching a movie with a friend. Especially since a lot of the other reaction sites are, and this is a subtle difference, their sites are "WATCH ME react to a movie to the point that I am the focal point " as opposed to Popcorn in bed which is "watch a movie with me" . Hope that is understandable.
Bradley Whitford (The West Wing), also plays in The Handmaids Tale, it's a must watch ;)
Great reaction and well done watching it, you guys did great. Chris is such a good character!
I love the “Creep it Real” t-shirt!
Cassie, there are so many little details to be found in "Get Out". The writing by Peele is amazing and intense.
It's like a scavenger hunt wrapped within a suspense thriller movie.
Im glad you noticed the Stepford Wives feeling, I got that almost immediately, a real creepy movie.
This brilliant masterpiece was the debut of Jordan Peele. His second film, another horror film called "Us", is more scarier than this and involves children so I don't recommend you watch it, but thank you so much for your reaction, can't wait for the next one
I would love for Cassie and her sister to react to "Us"
Such a good creepy movie for sure.
Cassie "I hate everything" - LOL, classic
Get out is a classic horror movie because it's an original story! I wonder if this movie will get a sequel. That would be awesome.
I loved watching your reaction! I loved the deer story. Remember to slow down and put your brights on when driving on those Alberta highways.
30:14 "Ok that noise was not ok"
Me: "Nope it sure wasn't,but at the same time so disturbingly satisfying. You know he ain't getting up again"
It was fun rewatching it with you. I was also blown away when I realized Rose was in on the whole cult.
Great film.
27:29 The hope draining from Chris' face is some of the realest acting I've ever seen. In most movies when someone's kidnapped and tied up, they keep wriggling and screaming for help but I feel this reaction is much more natural and realistic
Great assessment and great channel name as well :P Michael Fassbender as Edwin Epps is one of my favorite performances ever!
21:36 “Don’t look in there, I don’t wanna know, close the door, ignorance is bliss……” had me choking with laughter.
You and your sister are a great team. You're both such likable persons.
