Thanks for this video, V.G. I purchased the Armistice edition and am hoping to learn to play The Grizzled solitaire. Learning has been a real challenge with the rulebook.
I don't know how luch difference there is between the Armistice verion and mine but I hope this video gets you on your way. I must say that playing it multiplayer first helped me through the rules a bit easier.
Hi Kurt! Greetings from Brazil. I'm trying to play the Armistice version SOLO - based on your videos and the rule book of course. Basically, the differences are that we start with 30 instead of 25 cards on the trials pile ; the demoralization is 3 cards minimum in any circumstance and we are able to solve the 2 hard knocks PLUS flip the lucky charm. Taking the 6 hard knocks and the campaign cards looks like (looks like?!) there are more cards at play on the game in the armistice version - the trials pile is at 30 and the other at 32 - 62 total with trap cards included and nothing in our hand (except the soldiers on the table). Let me know if I forgot something. BUT my main question is: The draw or not to draw a card rule, is it allowed that we play every round very short missions ONLY 3 cards at a time? I've tried this and looked very easy, very slow, but easy to manage. Is that possible? I'm not quite sure about the draw rule OR if there is one! Maybe I am complicating things. I hope I made myself clear. Take care and play safe in this Pandemic times! Thanks again!!!
You could do that I think, but don't forget that you always have to put at least 3 cards from the one deck to the other, and when those cards run out, you lose... So I don't think that strategy really works.
Good evening :-) I have a question about the soloplay and it would be great to hear from you: What exactly is the point of the withdraw? What does ist drigger or prevent? Couldn't I just play cards as long as I want or can and then let withdraw all 3 Characters at once? Somehow I don't get that...because the cards on my hand do count for all the guys.... Best wishes Chris
If everybody withdraws on time (before busting because of 3 of the symbols played), all cards played that round are discarded. If you bust, all played cards of that round (except the hardships) go back into the deck. So, it is a lost round.
Hello again. Finally had some time to watch this video. That is one very nice looking game. It isn't a game I would usually buy, more into scifi/fantasy/horror games, but still this looks very cool indeed. Great video as always! (And this response was meant for video number one, but somehow it ended up on this one...oh well...😂)
I like the fact that it is a different theme for once. Not that many modern board games about World War 1. And this is a great one on top of that. Thanks for watching and commenting again!
Kurt, I myself don't know this game, nor really interested in learning, but i like how you did your review. Everything is clear to see and hear. Hey, I saw the "Clumsy" card, haha, that's pretty rare. (-:
It is a great game though, but not all games appeal to all players of course. I'm glad the sound is okay this time :) Yeah, a clumsy cars really suits me :p
Hey thanks for the video of this really cool game. I bought one in Essen.... And until now have never beaten one game. And at last one mention. On your first Mission at 12.50 you played a card with a trap Symbol on but did bot draw (and instant play) another card. Since you already had 2 gasmasks it could have been an early loss ;-)
It is a hard game... As for the trap... I played the 'easy' mode in which traps aren't used (I think I state that somewhere early in the video). Playing with traps is completely brutal :)

@@VitruvianGamer Hello again. Well, that's not exactly what I meant but I'll figure it out. But thanks a lot for your answer.
Best wishes
Chris
They’re artillery shells rather than bullets. 👍🏻
I can't contradict that :-) My knowledge of those things is very limited.
Thanks for watching!
Really enjoyed all three videos, thank you. I'm dipping further into your back catalogue now. :-)
@@mikehill9806 Well, I'm honored to have you here!
