The Emperor is a complete psycho who only loves him and wants to keep everything he desires within his grasp, despite others getting hurt in the process. The FL and him have been together from saving the country from the enemy to having a grown up kid. But he never hesitates to slash his wife's eyes even when she begs him not to. He didn't even take a minute to inquire about the prophecy, because, for him it was his chance. In his head, it's even better as he can have complete control over her. I really wanted him to have a painful end, but they ALWAYS ONLY kill the mistress as she is the biggest sinner and "regret" is enough for men 😅 In a couple of months, he'd find another pray. Don't know who the authors are kidding. 😅😅😅
Completely agree. I wondered if people thought the same. The eyes wasn't a mistake but another way to control her and hide what he knew he was doing behind her back. Mistresses blamed by the actual adulterer is just stupid. I hate how these men keep putting it on the mistress. Like dude she didn't make the vow you did, she did not force you. I've been collecting FL turn away playlist. The common theme is mistress gets blamed or killed
@tarrysmile Exactly! I'm glad you saw the pattern too. It's a consequence of sexism in China (and many other countries to be honest). Women are blamed for all the mistakes. But, as you clearly pointed out, "she didn't make the vows". As a woman, I went through cheating once in my life too. However, I knew better than to blame that woman. To be honest, I felt a little grateful because she showed me his true face before the marriage. Saved me from a lot of trouble. A few years later she actually apologized. I was surprised, but I have already let go of the past so I wished her luck. I have also encountered women who never repent in my career, and even feel "entitled" as they are young or more beautiful or some other nonsense they come up with. Since I understand women who cheat have serious self-esteem issues, I pity them. It doesn't mean, I don't think they are wrong. However, I think we need to raise women to have self-esteem and self worth without having a "rich/handsome/cool" man in their lives. They should get value in actual achievements, not by stealing men 😅
