Funny thing about the IGN one. I had a dream recently that RGG Studios and Rocksteady teamed up to make a game from each other's respective franchise. An Arkham game that played like Yakuza, and a Yakuza game that played like Arkham.
Yagami essentially bullied Sawa-sensei, exposed her to trauma and made her life miserable. But when she dies, he fights for her like she mattered to him, when she really didn't. I like the way Yagami was written though but the hypocrisy shows.
Same, for them the combat needs to look like Arkham City, but thats a superhero game(in this case Batman), here in Yakuza is using force and not powers(except Y7 LAD because turn and based combat, and better be optional the powers in LAD Ishin)
the combat isn’t even that bad if you have komaki parry or if you know what the X button does, and cutscenes can be paused by enabling “skip cutscenes” which brings up a prompt that asks you if you want to skip and is basically just pausing a cutscene
I'll admit, I'm of the opinion that Yakuza getting an actual lock on system couldn't hurt. At least make it so that unlocking is better to deal with crowds? I just hate how easy it is for Kiryu's moves to miss the opponent if you didn't meticulously turn towards him in the middle of the frenetic battle (especially when the Dragon Engine's ragdoll physics get involved).
@@3slicessenpai i like it that way. As a person who plays a lot of dmc3-5 i enjoy the fact that you can get to control where you're facing while still locked on and you don't just snap towards a certain opponent. Dmc5's lock on system is AWFUL with how the lock on depends on where you're tilting your left stick when you press the lock on button considering the fact that half the special moves require you to tilt your left stick away from the opponent. Yakuza avoids that by always keeping the protag facing the same way when you press lock on as before, but if you quickstep or walk you almost instantly turn towards the enemy. Also most de moves have a property that instantly turns you to face the opponent too if you're not tilting your left stick, so you have to be actively trying to miss. I don't really get your problem
@@rellertr Maybe I just really suck at Yakuza's battle system. Going through the series and on 6 atm and there's still many moments of me wanting to face a particular enemy, in front of me but Kiryu decided that Thug #6 off-screen killed his Haruka, so his attacks on Thug #1 miss, all the while #6 power bombs and shifts directions mid-flight to hit Kiryu.
