- Indy got a new little farm dress in the mail this morning (and one for her baby), so they both took the trip into town with me to meet some friends at the farmers market and have breakfast at our family diner afterwards. This afternoon and evening back at the farm was filled with some work, some fun... and some baby dolls.

Since my birthday, 4/25/20... I’m doing a daily FLOG (farm + vlog) here on RUclips. I’m doing my best to make something and share it… EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. ...at least for a while.

I love the swing for Indiana! In years to come she’ll remember these years an although her mom couldn be with her , she was with her mom!
I raised three children alone when their dad was killed at work.
The strength was my children first!
After I raised them all went to all the graduations alone and all the senior proms I prepared them for an their first cars first dates then marriages and then grandchildren...,
Alone it was !!
but absolutely no regrets raising them alone !
Then in 2011, a parent nightmare phone rang , and I cannot express my hurt no matter what words I can use when the officer said , no shes passed away!!
Alone i found myself in the depth of my soul came a pain unimaginable!
I couldn’t leave her when they called me to tell me she was ready for viewing !
Three days I spent with her , I began telling her about her birth and first steps to her first book she learned to read by herself ! All the way up to when she called me the evening before when she was telling me how excited she was to be having family day with me and her brothers! ..
The morning came for one last touch of her hand and one final kiss goodbye on her forehead , theb I reached up an cut a piece of her hair and then cut a piece of mine and placed them in her hand with tears flowing , bc I knew id not have her with me on earth anymore !
I looked into her two children’s eyes, I took a napkin an wiped their tears and cut a piece of their hair and gently wrapped it all an replaced it in her hand!
I took a picture of her hands before I let them close her casket.
I wrote a poem about a mamas hands an one day when her children are ready I will give each a picture with the poem attached .
I raised her children for 3 years after that until their dad could get up on feet!
I recall thinking about when my daughter dad died and how I had no Choice but to be strong enough to weather the storm but this time the storm was embedded so deep I didn’t know what pain was, although id already experienced watching my own children cry and live without a dad !
This was way deeper than anyone could ever realize !
Its been 9 years now and the pain never goes away but its easier to hide I suppose!
Sometimes, we just need to realize nothing is more to be cherished than the moments we do have with our children!
Gods grace carried me twice through storms so unimaginable !
Today , I’m going to say happy Mother’s Day to Joey an my daughter !

My favorite so far... spending time playing and letting Mama see her baby grow and watch her baby play and I’m sure you could just feel her presence all around you. I thought to myself when Rory makes it home I can only imagine the hug that’s going to take place between 2 souls that love each other an eternity and beyond....... Indi is absolutely precious and is so so lucky to have you as her Daddy! No question. And you are lucky to have precious Indi as your daughter💗 Happy Mother’s Day Joey!🦋💞

What a beautiful day, it was cold in Mississippi. I could not control my life when she said the baby’s name, out of all the names in the world .
Becky, I had to laugh at Indy's dolls name too 😂...Reminded me of my little nieces when they were little...always coming up with the funniest and weirdest names for their pets and dolls.

What part of Mississippi are you in Becky?? My wife grew up in Hattiesburg and she is actually there now helping her mother tend to a couple of sick family members. But when we got married almost 26 years ago, we lived in Columbus for a few years before transferring to Iowa, then Colorado, and finally North Carolina for our jobs but all of my in-laws are in the Jackson/Hattiesburg areas.

Absolutely beautiful, my heart is overwhelmed with love.
Indie is so adorable & sweet. Rory is really teaching her how to help at the Farmer's Market & knows how to handle eggs & give them to her Daddy without dropping them & will soon know how to work in her own garden.
All children need to know these things. She has older sisters who can help with girl things.

Oh what a awesome loving daddy you are to little Indy because you’re so gentle, patient and kind with her. She always looks like she’s enjoying life whenever you guy’s are doing things together and it’s so beautiful when you include her mama when your having your picnics together next to her. You’re doing such an awesome job raising her and keeping Joeys memories alive for Indy because she’s learning about her mamas love through you. I see why Joey wanted you to be the one raising Indy instead of her because she knew you would be the better one to tell the story of your lives together and keeping her memory alive for your daughter. Your love for each other was so loving and electric that it’ll never die out. I’m sure Joey wouldn’t want you to be without a life partner forever but whoever she may be, she’ll need to be supportive of your ongoing relationship with Joey in heaven and be supportive of keeping her memory alive for Indy. Joey was one lucky woman to have found you and you were as lucky that she walked into your life because I can’t imagine your life without your little Indy. Indy is an angel sent from heaven because GOD knew your time with Joey would be too short but your time together taught you love, patience and kindness for your little one. Happy Mothers Day Mr. Feek...I blinked and my little girl was grown. Now she is off doing grown woman things in a big busy city. I miss baby dolls with silly names, tea parties rocking on the from porch,...tree rope swings,creaking stairs ,and squealing laughter..my house is so quiet how...my husband fades each day and I thank God he is above ground....I miss him driving, taking out the trash , making coffee in the morning,.now I do those things and take him his coffee to his hospital bed in his little room filled with hospital stuff my little cot in the corner that the dog likes to share with me.i am so grateful I have a roof that does leak and that for a few brief moments I had so much love under my roof

She is precious. I had a Uncle and he was precious too. Growing up he was his nieces and nephews best friend. He was a great help to grandma on the farm and in the house. The swing reminds me of the gunny sack swing on my grandma's farm, one would climb the tree and jump from the large branch with the gunny sack between you legs. Oh how you would fly. I wish that farm was still around to share those things with my grandbabies.

I came across Rory Feek on RUclips by accident. Now I return by choice. My heart is warmed by this lovely father/daughter, his older daughters and the amazing extended family/community. The first one I saw was Indy going to school by herself. Since I was new here I did not know that the school house was right on their property....so I was shocked and yelling at my computer "Daddy, don't let that precious child walk alone to school". I saw Indy stop on the roadway, and my heart sank as she hesitated. Then she continued. I then saw the school, right through the red building, and the teacher waiting for her at the gate. I cried, with absolute joy for this child's first time going to school on her own. And I was so proud of Daddy. He was doing something right, little did I know just how beautifully right he is.
So, I then found the one with the school being built for Indy and the children in the community. And now I'm hooked. And I rarely finish a flog without a tear on my cheek. In today's messy world it's so inspirational to see such beauty.
