You and Uncle Joe be really trying to take care of those goats, yes BT is looking a little poorly, but he's going to snap back cause you and Uncle Joe is going to take care of him and the rest of the herd thanks for all you all do
Thanks for the video. I actually got into goats not to long ago.. very respectfully I look up to you. You do very well on all you videos. Blessings from the state of Georgia.
You always give such great education and from a real world, working man's view point! Josh, you've helped me make the decision to raise Kiko's ! Thanks so.much! God bless you my friend and I continue to pray for your healing! By HIS stripes. . .
We are fortunate that we raised our big guys from a very young age so they know that we won't hurt them .. however it is always best to have taken the precautions to prevent any unwanted injuries to us and the animals
Luckily Chocolate Flash (BT's son) has found out that a human finger is just the right size to scratch him between the horns! He LOVES to get his scratches. The only time I have problems with him is if I have them(all 9 goats) loose on my 10 acres because of the lack of rain - it allows them to get to an area of woods that isn't usually grazed. If I head toward the storage shed, they all try to get into it to get feed and Chocolate is leading the rush. Great video - I wondered how you handled them. Chocolate is about 120 lbs right now.
Megawatt is looking really good! Good call on the Red Cell, it'll only help BT recover quicker. I have a LaMancha doe that went downhill over the last few weeks. She lost alot of her winter coat and started having bald patches. I've been giving her Mineral Max paste and zinc chewable tablets daily, she's recovering nicely! I'm a bit jealous, we can't breed until October/November time frame. Our kidding season is in mid-Spring to ensure no frozen popsicle kids in North Idaho. 😬
Hi Josh, do you think you can make a video on where you buy your medicine, when you feel like they need to be used, where you store them (outside or inside the house, fridge etc.etc), what conditions deserve worming as opposed to boosting as you call it. Great insight and very good information BTW. Keep it up please. You can do a whole series on this subject, I think.
Thank you I have a caliper available. Message me from my FB page or email & I can get you one. The details are in the description of my videos & we have a goat FB page. Thanks
They’re beautiful boys. But his hips are sticking out a little and his eyes seemed a little pale but that definitely could have just been the camera. I absolutely love their horns and they seem a lot friendlier that the buck I had, he was a jerk 😂 little Nigerian dwarf and I no longer have him..
Older animals are subject to many of the same problems as us aging humans, cancer etc. Also cosider testing for CAE (a chronic wasting in goats) more common in dairy goats usually spread in milk but can be spread by blood to blood contact and other ways. It's a blood test.
Good video josh!… is there a reason you didn’t give him copper?.. is that okay to give a buck copper?.. we have been lucky so far with our buck.. he hasn’t had any issues so far… we’ve had him for a year now.
This is the first time he has ever had any issues. We have him Cooper a couple of weeks ago when we checked him. Hopefully all this will help get him back in breeding shape. Thanks for watching
Hey I just wanna get your thoughts on what do you think about people that want to get indigots that are getting priced out of the market cause I saw the video where that dough went for 5 grand I don't know around here I've had trouble purchasing any goats and getting my place ready for him just because of the cost of fencing and buying any goats just for old mixed up meat goat people are on $400 for it And I've even tried to go purchase some that people would count as calls the worst of the worst And there's still 150 to $200, To me it seems like the only ones that are affordable to get started are the pigment we'll be getting started are the pig knees which are meat goats but they don't bring any money and people will associate them with pets. Let's anyway if you're good maybe talk about that that would be appreciated
I would get started with a good foundation of doelings raise them up then breed them. If you go commercial it’s always cheaper. Typically Kiko doelings go for 350. Registered is always more expensive. Thanks for watching
Walker Farm Fam sent me over. Praying!!! Subscribed. Nice how you handled the bucks by keeping you safe and the buck safe with minimal stress!
