All I have to say is that PRS has never let me down. I have owned many different brands but they have outlived and stayed with me. They’re all versatile guitars but they each have their own voice. Always something special to encounter when playing one. I’m a fanboy lol.
That's a tough choice. I'm a lefty, so I'd need the one that was easiest to flip... so I'd probably steal your green Cu24 so I could reintonate the saddles. And, let's face it, the green is super sexy! I was lucky enough to trade what I thought was my dream guitar, a Lefty '58 Reissue Les Paul, for a 1997 Lefty PRS Cu22 and cash. That PRS is the greatest guitar I've ever played. I stuck some Suhr Thornbuckers in it and the McCarty coil tap... it's just perfect! PRS Wide/Fat necks are divine!
I feel the same way, particularly about the McCarty 594. I have 2 now and they just work so well for me, play effortlessly, and work for almost anything. I can play spacey reverb laden cleans and five seconds later play Tool and AIC and the guitars just do whatever I need them to. Makes buying other guitars a real pain now because everything suffers by comparison.
I was a big ESP fan in the 90s because of James and Kirk so I ordered a custom explorer from Japan. It was really nice but I had a roomate that used to say you should have gotten a PRS. This was 1994 and we lived in the Washington DC area where PRS is located regionally. They were popular there. I purchased a Standard 24. As soon as I held it I knew I loved it. It's the neck and the pickups. They are just phenomenal guitars and I say this coming from years of playing them as I now own 7 of them. I have a Grainger 4 string bass, a Pauls Guitar, a Tremonti single cut custom, a hollowbody II piezo, a Mira, and a SE starla, and a 25th Anniversary custom 24 with maple fret board. I will not buy another brand of guitar. I also did this with the Fractal audio. After all these years, someone has a really good product and I embraced it fully. Unlike most people, I delve deep into things I purchase to get my money out of it. PRS and Fractal Audio are top of the line! I am a fanboy from experience. Everyone who has played a PRS or Fractal always walks away saying good things.
You’re spot on when you say PRS guitars are work horses, my custom 22 is still rocking and has been my number 1 for almost 20 years. Bought it brand new in December of 2001, like your blue custom 24, mine has the Mc Carty switching also but came with the old school winged locking tuners, I’ve always loved the look of those tuners. I do regret not taking a real opportunity about 12 months after purchasing the custom 22, to purchase a spruce top hollowbody, it felt great, it sounded great, it played great. Sadly they don’t make the spruce top versions anymore, I still look forward to the day I have a PRS hollowbody, just not sure exactly when that will be.
I just got my first PRS S2 MCCARTY 594 on Tuesday. It’s a fantastic instrument. I made a couple of adjustments to it in order to get the action to where I like it and after that I couldn’t put it down. It’s a different beast to my beloved Les Paul.
Any PRS will do. I have 3 and they have become my go to guitars. I would probably go with the McCarty. It’s like my DGT which is my #1 although the Singlecuts are awesome too. As you said, they always play great and always stay in tune. I’ve been watching Kirk Fletcher’s channel and he’s been saying the exact same thing about his PRS. Btw, love your playing. You have such relaxed and fluid hands. Thanks for sharing these videos.
I think you hit the nail on the head there Leon. PRS make very consistent guitars, no doubt about it. I'd be more likely to buy one of these online than any other guitar in it's price range. Gibson's and Fenders can vary too much.
Amazed how different they all sound. I like them all for different reasons. The Custom 24 green sounds the most versatile genre wise, which is why it's a good all round live gigging guitar. I own a "Poor man's" USA PRS Mahogany Standard 22, which is o.k., but wish I went for the Custom 24's instead.
Great stuff Leon. I love those PRS guitars but I imagine you could make a piece of cardboard with strings sound great. Love the last PRS and of course the faces.
Leon Todd cardboard with pick ups you say? Gosh I dunno how I stumble onto these but I guess I’ve been really wrapped up in the whole Tonewoods debate... this still doesn’t sway me either way but here you guys go.... ruclips.net/video/YnGEMbMXCFw/видео.html
Leon, great collection of PRS guitars. With regard to your question, I really like the sound/vibe you have with the SC245, so I'd probably choose that one. Your channel is one of the reasons that I felt like I needed a PRS core model. I recently purchased a 2002 custom 24 (completely stock) that looks a lot like your green custom 24 (same color) with 5 way rotary switch. I absolutely love the way it sounds. Now I kinda think I might want/need a McCarty 594, but I just bought this guitar a couple months ago, so I will need to wait awhile before I can justify to my wife another guitar purchase.
No one is guaranteed tomorrow!!! Your wife should be thrilled about such a purchase... I can think of 10 million things to buy that wives would really hate!! 🍻 cheers
I had a single cut and a prs mccarty with a solid rosewood neck about 15 years ago. Sold the single cut and traded the McCarty for a Tom Anderson HSS drop top serial#. 06-27-00P with a rare Fire Burst finish. Bought another Anderson in 2018 Guardian Angel HSH serial# 11-11-18A. I love em! The Angel is nicknamed Heaven and the Fire Burst is nicknamed Hell. I’d like to post a picture of them but I can figure out how on an iPad. Leon, I just Messaged you a picture of them along with my Carr Slant 6V
I’m a big fan of PRS myself. I have a 2001 Mark Tremonti singlecut, a 2007 blue Matteo McCarty with throbak pickups, a Vela, and a satin S2 standard 24 with Lambertones pickups. I can definitely tell the singlecut is your favorite, may be mine too.
Opeth and Porcupine Tree inspired me to buy my first PRS guitar, a Custom 22 Wide Fat, in 2009. It blew my mind so much that I bought three more. A David Grissom Trem DGT, a Singlecut Hollowbody (no F-holes) and a Triple Soapy. It's so hard to pick my favourite. The CU22 is a rock beast - I swapped out the 5-way knob for a chicken head because it's easier to switch in the heat of battle as I'm constantly changing pickups throughout a song or even a solo. The DGT has a super silky trem and different neck carve. The neck on the Triple Soapy is a little small for my taste but it sounds so good. I think my favourite is the Singlecut but they all have their strong points. They are all faultless and have NEVER needed any attention from a luthier. Bullet-proof and they look mind-bogglingly beautiful. Leon, your Mira was the one that jumped out for me. I share your love for this brand.
My favs are that Green one with the JB in the bridge, that totally hit the ball out of the park! Having said that I don’t have a guitar with a JB in it as I found them a bit much for my playing (I hope I change my mind at some point!). But, my favourite guitar you played was the Mira! Sounded vintage but could pull off AC/DC territory . I have an S2 Mira (not the core) and that’s my main guitar at the moment. I agree about it being a bit like an SG and Tele
Leon met you about three years ago at an amp show here in Waltham/ Boston Ma.,you did a great presentation on AXE FX, and it’s where I caught the PRS bug.I can’t really say which of the five I’d prefer, they all sound amazing in you’re hands, but in mine not so much lol , anyway I’m looking at a 2012 whale blue custom 24at with 5909 pickups my local shop, its a good price because it’s beat up a bit, which makes it appealing to me, it’s got mojo , it’s been played out, so maybe I’ll grab it, I have LP, Strats, Tele’s but I think I need a PRS , take care my friend , stay safe 👍,
Hey Leon. I’ve had a few PRS’s over the last 20 years and I’ve just traded a Les Paul standard from 2016 for a 2003 Singlecut in turquoise and it sounds amazing! More comfy to play than the LP and better sounding IMO. Watched your channel for a few years now, keep up the good work 👍🤘
My 08 Core Mira looks like yours!! IMHO, one of the most underrated guitars ever!! My least expensive guitar as well! Ssssooooooo great!! Thank you for sharing! I’m getting bit by PRS/ Suhr bug at the moment!!
Preaching to the converted here but it’s still cool to hear someone who is obviously a fan talking about the tools of their trade in this way. I’d happily take that green cu24 off you :-). I’ve a CE24 that is just my perfect all-in-one workhorse and just managed to buy a Silver Sky...... I could probably ditch every other guitar I own and, when the house burns down, those are the two that will come out with me..... :-)
I'm really wanting to get a PRS McCarty 594 single cut. It has replaced the Les Paul custom in my heart because I feel like the sound of PRS guitars is more balanced and clear. I still believe Les Paul guitars still have their place but I don't think the sound is as versatile as I use to think. I really enjoy your passion for PRS guitars and how detailed you speak about them and yet you explain it in a compact response.
Great comparison. I love hearing the different tones of each instrument. I like the look of the DC McCarty the best, but the sound of the Singlecut. However, I've been considering a Mira for a long time. I was impressed with the sound here. I dont have a PRS, I've always played Gibsons. What can I expect from a Mira, in comparison to an SG?
IMO the Mira is almost like you took a LP Jr and an SG and then smoothed everything out - the neck is the same as a PRS Custom 24 but the body is smaller and lighter. Good way to get into the core PRS stuff without spending big money.
@@LeonTodd Thanks very much the response Leon! Its weird actually, I've got both an SG and an LP Jr!! I think I'm going to check out a Core Mira. Seems like a great guitar. Cheers
I’d probably grab the green one. You’re right though PRS guitars are very consistent. My beloved CE22 has been played and gigged for about 15 years now. I love it
Cool Video! I just bought my first PRS. Its a 1998 McCarty. I can't wait for it to get here. Of all the PRS guitars you showed i would probably go with the Green custom 24. That guitar looks stunning!!! I don't understand the rotary switch to much though😂
I bought a brand new Tremonti SE about a month ago. It was my first PRS. I tried so hard to like it. Was not a good fit for me. Also did not stay in tune. It was going to need a new nut and locking tuners. I decided to walk away from it and took it back to GC. I think a Custom 24 and a USA model is what I would need. Maybe someday I will try a PRS again. They sure do make some beautiful guitars.
Love that black single cut because I'm also a Les Paul guy. I own one single cut prs and have been debating to get another one. Think I just made up my mind.
As you know, I'm a big fan of single cuts, but I also love blue guitars. I think your blue one might be my favorite of yours, but I might slap some Sheptone pickups in it, like I have in my LP.
Having just lost all my gear in a fire, I'm in the process of "replacing" everything. That being said, instead of getting a strat, a Les Paul, and Ibanez what, in your opinion, would be the best PRS to go from playing blues to metal? Dig your channel...much respect. Thank you. 🤘✌
Great Video dude! Which of those ones would recomend for a guy like me, who is more on the Fender Strat world for years and want a Humbucker guitar but I always had problem with Gibson Les Paul´s neck?
What's kind of funny and I couldn't help but be struck by it, is the all-of-a-sudden big auditorium concert sound with reverb and echo when you play the guitar.
Love the tones that you get out of all of them, but PRS's are so reliable as you point out. If I was to go for just 1 of those, it would be the McCarty, just superb
The SC 245 is basically PRS's version of a Les Paul so it's not too surprising it's your favorite, do you know what the weight of it is and the weight of your other PRS guitars? What do you think about the PRS SE " bolt-on" and Core guitars? I like the PRS headstocks with it's straight string pull, my personal favorite headstock and necks are the small Music Man and their oilded necks are second to NONE, the Peavey and EVH Wolfies come close as does the HP2. As you would say they are absolutely Glorious!! 😄😄
I would grab your Singlecut for a gig...I own several myself so I absolutely know what to expect....I like the tops on PRS so your 24's of course hit me there...all are beautiful but I have a love of green guitars so would likely grab that one first out of those 2 ..I also have a couple McCarty's , which are amazing models all in themselves..... If they don't bring out Leon StanK Face they just don't get it done!!
I wasted so much money on Fenders, Gibsons, Schecters, Ibanezes, and Peaveys till I finally bought a Paul Reed Smith: a cherry-red Singlecut on which I swapped its stock pickups for Seymour-Duncan "Pearly Gates." (I never heard the originals, so they may be quite decent, for all I know.) I've sold or given away (to my son, a better guitarist than me) all my other guitars, except for a Les Paul, which serves only as a backup guitar, never played anymore. [My amps, too, evolved from Fenders, Peaveys, and Marshalls to Mesa Mark V, used on the Mark iv setting.] Now I have the right set-up and can play pretty well, but I'm old, have arthritis and carpal tunnel, rock is largely dead, and the pandemic has all but stopped live music in my area. Oh, well, it's been fun getting here only to get off the ride and wonder what could have been if I had found PRS and Mesa long, long ago. Watching you play your 245 inspires me to get out my PRS. Your 245 sounded best, but for me you have too much delay, chorus, or reverb on it. I like Stevie Ray's tone: just loudness itself, which creates its own echo effect as it bounces off the walls, no matter how distant. A highly contrived tone sounds, well, false; it lacks real power, which it traded off for a tinny falsetto, not the real deal as we heard on Clapton in Cream or Pagey in Led Zeppelin. (I know they used a few pedals, but not a computer-generated orchestra.)
The SC for sure is my favorite here :-) .. and I think in most other videos I've seen as well. They are all killer guitars but seems to me that guitar in your hands is where some special mojo is.. Keep up the good work man!
My number one for gigging is alway mu 2011 ebony traditional gibson, when i bought it i test it the d chord to like you...and it produce sustain like u never heard before also its smoked a 2007 lp black beauty and a 2014 lp standart plus aaa sumthing. For me the coil tap thing works great and like u said too locking tuners yeaaah 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻 And btw that black SC makes me want one too...maybe someday
Hey, wow, so nice... Dude I miss my McCarty but I'm a singlecut guy. Do you find the double cut McCarty can sound as big, full and chunky as the Singlecut or SC245,, etc.? I surprised you prefer the Mc arty over the SC for hard rock and grunge. Is it the McCarty pickups? If so, I could always update the pickups. What do you like about the 245 over the other SC models like the longer scale 294, Tremonti, older singlecuts from thr 2000s. You like the shorter scale and vintage pickups?
Lots of tonal overlap, but I use each guitar for specific tunings/styles so I tend to just stick with them that way. The McCarty has been around Australia and the USA a few times, as has the SC245 while the blue CU24 toured with me in Europe from the south of France to the Nordic countries and held up like a champ!
@@LeonTodd Good to know! She's a beautiful guitar. I had a 2003 that rocked. Pickups were fat and grungy when drive. I've become more of a singlecut guy due to the beefy tone but it's been years, I forget if the McCarty can hold up and if it's fat enough like an LP. Which is strange since it's a double cut. Funny now they make a line of singlecut McCarties.
@@LeonTodd I think it's great that you are such a great player and like the PRS neck/fretboard radius. So many guys these days like a really flat radius and thin neck. I'm like you, five me that fatter PRS neck and 10" radius board.:)
Hi Leon! To Me personally, PRS guitars and Thoroughbred work Horses. They cover all the Bases. Like the Mira, But Love the SC! Might you consider explanation and process of PLEK for those unfamiliar? My last purchases, 3, have all been Pleked. Thanks for sharing brother and Be Well All!
I have two Core PRSs. A Custom 24-08 in Aquamarine, and a McCarty 594 Hollowbody II in Tobacco Burst (Ten Top) and an AXE FX III. My only problem is I can only play 5% as well as Leon. Small problem, right?
Hi Leon I think i like your Green Custom 24, Really Sings Awesome Playing and Tones, I Have a 2003 Custom 22 Hardtail with the 5 way rotary and Dragon 11 Pups, It is my only guitar, But its every thing i need, Blues Rock Tones Great Guitar, Love your channel, Solid Advice/Playing Great Stuff .
I really want a Custom 24 with trem. Any advice on the PRS trem system? I’m using Floyd Rose on my Jackson and love it. Also assume the C24 has the flattest neck of the PRS range?
Do you have any experience with the CU24-08? I'm trying to decide between that and a standard CU24, but having a hard time deciding which switching option I'd rather have in the long run.
Obviously I cannot disagree about the sound of each one, one thing weird for me is the position of the pickup selector in the custom models (comparing with my two Ibanez), aren´t they uncomfortable?
Man you absolutely killed it while demoing the single cut at the end! George Lynch style yea!! Sounding awesome my man! Hope you come to Miami or Ft Lauderdale whether The world gets back to some kinda normal. How’s things down under ? Stay safe !
I'm curious if you've had a chance to try (and what you think about) the usa made S2 Standard 24 models. They're more in my price ballpark than the other models and I've been tempted to buy one.
dude...i put a custom 5 in my PRS SE custom 24 bridge about 4 years back I think it was and their phat cat p90 in the neck position. nice upgrades to an already nice guitar. add a satin'd neck and bone nut plus a pro 'setup' and it's a whole new beastie. I can't bring myself to even think of buying a USA PRS. They can bury me with the SE. I'm happy.
Well I have a ce22 alder that you will bury me with... But i'd take your mcCarthy any day, but with their original pickups maybe. I'm not sure about the fluence pickups...
My pick: blue custom 24. Love it! But the SC245 just sounds amazing. Rumor is Mark is may bring Cameron back to market. I wonder if your fav Atomic High model would get replaced with the real deal! I would just have to spring for one if it happens! 👍
Absolute beasts! I only own a measly 2 PRS's but I love them both dearly. One's a cherry sunburst Custom 22 that's a great all-rounder but I am planning on putting a Duncan Custom 5 in it. Other is a Tremonti sig that's stock that I got silly cheap 👌 Awesome video as always dude!
Would you say it's more economical for Australians to buy PRS guitars in the USA and ship them back here? Judging by Reverb prices of PRSs in the states (and the sheer supply of them over there) I'm starting to think so, but keen to hear your thoughts :)
I’d like to try that nccarty but I’ll probably use either custom 24 the most. The trem and the 23rd and 24th frets I may not use all the time but it’s nice to know they are there
I’m also a Prs lover few questions for you Leon are you guys still selling the Ragdoll circle stickers love that sticker? Second I know it must be just a personal thing but why do you switch knobs?
I have a 97' PRS CE24 that is without question the best built and nicest guitar I've owned. It is superb and without flaws but sadly it has the wide/thin neck which hurts my fretting hand after a short while. Love PRS otherwise.
@@LeonTodd so far so good. I was told the bridge is from the SE series on these S2's. I don't see a problem but was wondering if I should upgrade it. Just looking for peoples opinions. It will be a gigging guitar so reliability is huge
I’ve a SC McCarty 594, an older McCarty double cut, and a ce24. Prs is a better quality of instrument vs the other large brands. For the price you pay at least.
I'm currently in talks with a Buddy that has 2 Single cuts, A Trans Black Chevroned Flame top and The first Silverburst PRS did. I'm going to end up with one of them. On a side note my same buddy thinks my 2017 Les Paul Custom is the Shit!!!
@@LeonTodd I'll be Meeting up with him in a few weeks and he'll be bringing them both!!! I'm sure some video will be up shortly after that!! Oh and to use your description, they have been played and gigged but in "Museum Piece" Condition!!!
I have an SE and I love it, but not it's aging. It became cloudy and quite unpleasant for me. That's why I'm not getting a PRS and settling to other companies
Great video and guitars. At that stage, it is PRS that should state that they are sponsored by you... ;-) Ps: could you tell us which string gage you use for those low tuninigs?
@@LeonTodd There is something about explorers that I love, it exudes coolness. I've always wanted a Korina Standard. It would be nice to see a comparison between the two of you get a chance.
Which one would you choose first? CU24? McCarty? Mira? SC? Let me know!
CE24

Leon met you about three years ago at an amp show here in Waltham/ Boston Ma.,you did a great presentation on AXE FX, and it’s where I caught the PRS bug.I can’t really say which of the five I’d prefer, they all sound amazing in you’re hands, but in mine not so much lol , anyway I’m looking at a 2012 whale blue custom 24at with 5909 pickups my local shop, its a good price because it’s beat up a bit, which makes it appealing to me, it’s got mojo , it’s been played out, so maybe I’ll grab it, I have LP, Strats, Tele’s but I think I need a PRS , take care my friend , stay safe 👍,
That was an amazing weekend! Hope you've been doing alright mate.
That lick from the Playing God solo at 5:52 is completely killer!
I would go for the Mira. You can't reject that bite.
Hey Leon. I’ve had a few PRS’s over the last 20 years and I’ve just traded a Les Paul standard from 2016 for a 2003 Singlecut in turquoise and it sounds amazing! More comfy to play than the LP and better sounding IMO. Watched your channel for a few years now, keep up the good work 👍🤘
Much appreciated mate! Singlecuts rule :D
My 08 Core Mira looks like yours!! IMHO, one of the most underrated guitars ever!! My least expensive guitar as well! Ssssooooooo great!! Thank you for sharing! I’m getting bit by PRS/ Suhr bug at the moment!!
What serial is yours? 08 135613 here
DGT is my bucket list guitar
I love it
Did you bring that CE22 to the original gear day at Crank?
Leon Todd
Maybe, I can’t honestly remember haha
I know I had the digitech rack rig
The 2-piece McCarty Outshined~~~!
This Black Single Cut just smells like high gain Mesa Mark Series heavy rock riffs.
My favourite the Prs blue 24 it is a beautiful guitar!
Cool Video! I just bought my first PRS. Its a 1998 McCarty. I can't wait for it to get here. Of all the PRS guitars you showed i would probably go with the Green custom 24. That guitar looks stunning!!! I don't understand the rotary switch to much though😂
Got a PRS, chanced on this vid, discovered you and your band - great stuff - got yourself a new fan here!! backing music for today's work :)
Awesome! Thank you so much! What PRS did you get?
I bought a brand new Tremonti SE about a month ago. It was my first PRS. I tried so hard to like it. Was not a good fit for me. Also did not stay in tune. It was going to need a new nut and locking tuners. I decided to walk away from it and took it back to GC. I think a Custom 24 and a USA model is what I would need. Maybe someday I will try a PRS again. They sure do make some beautiful guitars.
I have loved every PRS I have been lucky enough to get my hands on.
Love that black single cut because I'm also a Les Paul guy. I own one single cut prs and have been debating to get another one. Think I just made up my mind.
I'd grab another in a heartbeat!
As you know, I'm a big fan of single cuts, but I also love blue guitars. I think your blue one might be my favorite of yours, but I might slap some Sheptone pickups in it, like I have in my LP.
Those pups sound GREAT
Having just lost all my gear in a fire, I'm in the process of "replacing" everything. That being said, instead of getting a strat, a Les Paul, and Ibanez what, in your opinion, would be the best PRS to go from playing blues to metal?
Dig your channel...much respect.
Thank you. 🤘✌
Check out a DGT or custom 24
Great Video dude!
Which of those ones would recomend for a guy like me, who is more on the Fender Strat world for years and want a Humbucker guitar but I always had problem with Gibson Les Paul´s neck?
What's kind of funny and I couldn't help but be struck by it, is the all-of-a-sudden big auditorium concert sound with reverb and echo when you play the guitar.
They're my cheat codes!
that mccarty double humbucker middle tone . wow .
I feel this way about my music man EVH / Axis guitars
EBMM do amazing work!
It's always lovely to hear from people who have found the gear that inspires them to make guitar noises :)
Love the 245 beautiful guitar and what a sound. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
It sure is!
The SC for sure is my favorite here :-) .. and I think in most other videos I've seen as well. They are all killer guitars but seems to me that guitar in your hands is where some special mojo is.. Keep up the good work man!
sc245 is killer looking. love the emerald green cu24 too. I have a root beer cu22 and need to expand my collection.
My number one for gigging is alway mu 2011 ebony traditional gibson, when i bought it i test it the d chord to like you...and it produce sustain like u never heard before also its smoked a 2007 lp black beauty and a 2014 lp standart plus aaa sumthing.
For me the coil tap thing works great and like u said too locking tuners yeaaah 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
And btw that black SC makes me want one too...maybe someday
definitely the SC245!!! Love that machine!!
The chunkiest
Definitely! I need to drop MT Guitars a line and pop in for a visit.
I have two Core PRSs. A Custom 24-08 in Aquamarine, and a McCarty 594 Hollowbody II in Tobacco Burst (Ten Top) and an AXE FX III. My only problem is I can only play 5% as well as Leon. Small problem, right?
The 594's are some of the best guitars ever made IMO
Have you ever tried a Tremonti guitar?
You make them sound amazing!
Thank you so much!
If you only have one, make it a PRS!
Nice collection! I love my DGT. I often wonder why PRS uses those yellowish pickup mounting rings? They could do better. 👍
I don't but they sure look tasty. I'd probably grab a DGT over one though
Stay safe !
Love your PRS collection.
I just bought a schecter Hellraiser... Is it a good guitar? Comes with EMG pickups
I'm happy.
Nice!
I wonder what the price tag will be!
Absolute beasts! I only own a measly 2 PRS's but I love them both dearly. One's a cherry sunburst Custom 22 that's a great all-rounder but I am planning on putting a Duncan Custom 5 in it. Other is a Tremonti sig that's stock that I got silly cheap 👌
Awesome video as always dude!
Man I've been looking for a whale blue prs cu24 for so long... Still can't find one
i had a prs sunburst 245 with the 57/08 pickups, nitro finish, i regret selling it. i know where it is, i just need the money to get it back.
Would you say it's more economical for Australians to buy PRS guitars in the USA and ship them back here? Judging by Reverb prices of PRSs in the states (and the sheer supply of them over there) I'm starting to think so, but keen to hear your thoughts :)
I've imported three PRS guitars (to Australia) from the USA. No problems. Provided you trust the Seller.
I have a Custom 24 in drop C - still trying to figure out the right string gauge. What gauge do you use? Love your stuff!
I have a 97' PRS CE24 that is without question the best built and nicest guitar I've owned. It is superb and without flaws but sadly it has the wide/thin neck which hurts my fretting hand after a short while. Love PRS otherwise.
Hey Leon.. been a while. I just picked up a Custom 22 S2 a month ago. Really liking it. Any suggestions you think should be changed or modded?
Congrats! Is there anything you wish it did that it isn't at the moment?
@@LeonTodd so far so good. I was told the bridge is from the SE series on these S2's. I don't see a problem but was wondering if I should upgrade it. Just looking for peoples opinions. It will be a gigging guitar so reliability is huge
Is there a genre stigma to PRS?
sorry if i missed it,what kind of seymour duncan pick up do you use in the neck position in green one?
Jazz
I’ve a SC McCarty 594, an older McCarty double cut, and a ce24. Prs is a better quality of instrument vs the other large brands. For the price you pay at least.
Nice video! Tipping my hat on the kings x.
I'm currently in talks with a Buddy that has 2 Single cuts, A Trans Black Chevroned Flame top and The first Silverburst PRS did. I'm going to end up with one of them. On a side note my same buddy thinks my 2017 Les Paul Custom is the Shit!!!
Silverburst PRS - whaaaaat!!!
@@LeonTodd I'll be Meeting up with him in a few weeks and he'll be bringing them both!!! I'm sure some video will be up shortly after that!! Oh and to use your description, they have been played and gigged but in "Museum Piece" Condition!!!
@@LeonTodd I sent you some pics via FB Messenger
I have an SE and I love it, but not it's aging. It became cloudy and quite unpleasant for me. That's why I'm not getting a PRS and settling to other companies
I am waiting for a soapbar S2 McCarty. Paul you are a clever guy, you know that make a lot of sense.
My Modern Eagle is my number 1 guitar!
Yum!!!
Boom! great video mate.
Glad you enjoyed it! Wonderful machines
YEAHH ALICE IN CHAINS AND SOUNDGARDEN ALL THE WAY
I need to do a medley of all the best early 90's riffs!
@@LeonTodd oh yes please man !! Love your channel btw! Mean tones from a nice guy haha
Hi Leon
Which gauge of strings do you use on Drop C ?
Rock on
Elixir Nanoweb 10-52
Guitahhh. Love that Aussie accent.
The green one. The pickup tap settings on my custom se are very unbalanced.
#1 Reason why Leon has all of them - GAS :D
Accurate
Great video and guitars. At that stage, it is PRS that should state that they are sponsored by you... ;-)
Ps: could you tell us which string gage you use for those low tuninigs?
Hahaha!
Strings are Elixir Nanoweb 10-52
Leon, what is the other explorer you have hanging next to the Hamer?
Well spotted! That's my Dad's Gibbo, I've got it here to set up for him. Chunky beast.
@@LeonTodd There is something about explorers that I love, it exudes coolness. I've always wanted a Korina Standard. It would be nice to see a comparison between the two of you get a chance.
Hey Leon, Do any of your guitar's have the Piezo saddles preamp setup in it...??? Cheers...!
No but if I ever get my hands on a Hollowbody it will have to have the piezo saddles!
@@LeonTodd I might put a set of piezo saddles in a guitar i'm building...It just a thought for now...Cheers..!
Nice stable.
