    I’ve been thinking of doing this myself and have been doing tons of research. Your story has been super helpful! I’ve heard of the same pitfalls as you’ve encountered. And I’m lowkey thinking I’m NOT gonna do it just yet. Lol… not sure if you ever eventually made the house? But just keep trucking!

    Thank you posting this and taking the time. I’m looking to do the same thing. I was a @robuilt fan and took his course and have done a ton of research in Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley. I even put a bid on some land in Yucca but the contract was wonky and the neighbor was crummy (junkyard guy). I’m still looking for that magic spot. I’d love to hear more about each part - septic, arborist, the whole thing! Best of luck and see you out there! 👍🏼👍🏼

      Thanks for watching! I've seen robuilt's stuff too and he definitely inspired me. Good luck on finding a spot!

    Hey Ana you are one Ambitious, Courageous young lady. More Power to you!
    However, instead of going through all this Hassel, why not just built a Self Contained Tiny House on a Trailer, with Solar Power & the Bluetti AC200 expandable Generator & just Plug in & Play for Power. Buy a Water 500 gl. Water Tank for a Cistern to collect or buy Water.
    You can Park the Tiny Home Trailer anywhere & in any direction to change the Scenery. A much Simpler, Hassel Free, a lot Inexpensive Solution.
    Alternatively, Live in a Van with a Big Patio Deck on your Property.
    Cheers & Good Luck with your Project from Toronto, Canada.

    Hi Ana! I’m super invested in your journey because I plan to do the same thing (in Yucca Valley). I have to say its very admirable how you’ve taken on such an enormous task without any experience. I’ve worked in Construction Management for 8 years and it may help to hire an expeditor to deal with alot of the redtape that comes with the permitting process. That stuff is no fun at all as im sure you’re experiencing, and when you’re doing it for the first time it can be terrifying. Expediters do this stuff for a living and are the experts on it. You may be past the point of needing one as it seems you’re pretty far into the process but I figured I’d suggest it, best of luck!

    • @anaelisagentle
      @anaelisagentle  2 года назад +1

      Hi, Thanks for following along! I didn't know there was such a thing as an expeditor, that might have come in handy 😅 You're right, I'm probably past the point of needing one, but at the very least I've learned a lot about the process

    Very honest and informative video The red tape in California is a nightmere! I have an airbnb in JT many regulations to register, I think my next project will be in Arizona or New Mexico much cheaper and less beaucracy you sound smart so I am sure you will prevail dont give up and good luck

      Please consider renting long term to actual residents. Thank you. We need rental housing.

  • @JR-eq6jz
    @JR-eq6jz Год назад +1

    I would build to live there just keep your WA residence so you don't get sucked into CA tax hell. They are cracking down on short term rentals so I don't think anyone is going to get any new permits anyway. Plus the locals seem to really be sick of these short term rental people.

    • @ladesigner8764
      @ladesigner8764 2 месяца назад

      Yes, locals are over it. Tourism is good but the glut of out of towners coming with no connection to area (only to make money off tourists) is resented. Locals need rentals but with yearly leases!

    • @ladesigner8764
      @ladesigner8764 Месяц назад

      There’s a bit of a bust there recently. SO many came out to buy during covid…it’s over saturated. Locals want actual people who live there…not investors trying to make a buck.

    Great video - you are doing so well by solving the problems as you go. How could you have found out about the city's plans to take some of your land under eminent domain?

    • @anaelisagentle
      @anaelisagentle  2 года назад

      Hey Randa, thanks for watching! Yeah, would have been nice to know about this ahead of time, but we've been able to work around it. The city website has it posted, but it's hard to navigate

  • @ladesigner8764
    @ladesigner8764 2 месяца назад +1

    I support you but please know the short term rentals are capped. Locals need housing. Please consider renting long term to locals, not via Airbnb for tourists. Good luck, I support your entrepreneurial spirit. There is an Airbnb bust there now.

    Ana unfortunately, unless if you have at least half a Million Dollars in Savings, I think you are getting in above your head.
    Ana, before paying out more Money, you need to Pause & talk to a Trustworthy Financial Advisor.
    Speaking from a Lot of Experience, I would Hate to see your Dreams Shattered. Please Pause & get some Financial Advice.
