I’m on social security but I have my $1000 emergency fund and I’m on BS2 .. I saved dollars , and loose change..,I also set a goal of trying to save $500 a year out my benefits.. I saved $500 in 2023 and $600 in 2024 so far .my goal is to save $500 a year regardless moving forward…. I use a high yield account for my ef fund…. I do budget with pen and paper no fancy budget sheets
That’s so awesome! I love that you are setting goals and hitting them! Doing your budget and making things happen. That’s all it takes. A decision. Great job and thanks for sharing that with us! 👏💛
Y'all make setting up spending envelopes so easy.. ITS NOT EASY!!! I spent over a hour and a half. Just to do that. I got frustrated and had to walk away. And came back to finish. At the end!! I enjoyed it alot.. makes me want to do it again. Because now I actually have a little money. Most of the time I don't have any money and have to use a credit card.. I will let everyone know next Wednesday ,if I actually achieved that.. thank you
I am tracking my spending, doing savings challenges, paid off one credit card, paying off the next one in a week, and one paycheck away from our emergency fund! I am truly blessed to have come across your channel. Stay safe and can't wait for HH on Sunday!❤
I am so glad you are spreading Dave's 7 Baby Steps. These can really help so many people no matter how much your income is. Great job Dave would be proud.
I'm watching your video on my TV while I type up this paper for my business class...you started naming subscriptions...girl I laughed so hard. Your videos are very informative and animated I love it!! Have a good night.
Thank you so much. Second month of watching you i have made some of my envelopes i need to save for... Car insurance tags glasses etc i now find myself saying do I need that more and more. Im happy to report i have $280 for the $1k fund and 2 months of my car insurance and house insurance saved. Feels so good to know its there. Thank you for your videos.
Tho still ironing out details of own numbers, seeing problem areas, committing to desired purpose. I'm proud to say I'm half way to 1k and finished 3-4 minis. Having stumbled upon budgetin vids things have been changing thankfully for the better. Thank you 😊
i’ve been binge watching your videos the past two days. you’re very motivating! 💚 next week i pay off the rest of my credit card debt and then i can really start saving. i can’t wait!
I know - I was doing that, too. I just kept using it. I don’t know your situation and I’m not saying you are the same - but once I changed pretty much everything - that’s when things started to look up. I still question myself on every single thing. Do I really need that ? Can that wait? Can I use something else ? I hope you can start to gain some traction. 💛
@@2SisterBees Thanks for responding. I will keep on keeping on and maybe I will find my groove. I have really been enjoying your videos when you help other people with their budgets, and I am learning so much. I know you are in Florida. BE SAFE I live in Louisiana and praying for you and all.
Yes me toooooo! And it’s usually a car repair that sucks the savings dry. Then I get angry about it and i emotionally shop. Then I get back on track for the cycle to repeat. I’m so tired of it
This is my biggest worry - I was laid off about 3+ years ago and I’m so glad I had over $1,000 in emergencies savings and now I have a goal to save at least 1+ years in emergencies in case I get laid off again or lose my job at least I have a year to live off for a year until I find another job.
You inspired me to get a lower rate on my internet. I had to fight with spectrum for 3 hours on hold with different reps, no one even tried transferring me to the retention department. Finally I figured I'd just switch and called and actually pressed disconnect -- apparently that's the ticket. Saving $40 a month on that now! So thanks :)
Don't hate me but I used to be a telemarketer for Comcast for when customers called in. There goal is to retain you, and some do it by hook or crook. I've heard some straight out lie to customers. Not the best job imo but at time I needed to work and wasn't picky and is only job I've ever got fired from
These statistics scare me 😩 for a family of 5, and San Francisco being up to $5K a month, my emergency fund is $18K. It just makes sense for us. Please keep us updated!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 been watching the news. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.
We just went through a terrible tornado outbreak. Very scary and on high alert but we made it through that. We still have power as of right now. I think the high winds are coming later. I will try to keep you guys updated. 💛💛💛
Hey Jenn, right behind you just turned 48 ♎ you definitely don't look near 50 I am always hearing that I don't look my age. So many options for bringing in more money but I know that I have to keep the spending under control first and you are the first person that truly had me looking at that 🐝❤️🐝 I appreciate the videos and all the motivation 💜XOXO
Hi there- as long as you are moving forward just a little bit each day. I always say that if I am 1% better today than I was yesterday- I can get through this. I’m rooting for you! 💛🤩
I hope you, your hubs, and Uthred are doing okay with the hurricanes and tornadoes and floods and all the other horrible nasty things going on in the FLA. You’re in our prayers ❤🙏🏻⚓️
I had this and more. No debt. Then Covid, we got Covid early in 2020. Very little income for several years. Self-employed. Several clients went out of business. Sick we lived on credit cards. Income is half of what is was before Covid and at 74 with long Covid, I don't have what it takes to rebuild my business. Deep in debt and savings is GONE.
Hi Tasha, first time responding. I have been watching for a few months now. I love your intentionality and consistency. It is encouraging. I do like the new digital spreadsheet. 🤩☺️
@@2SisterBees thanx so much, had to start all over again with the 1000 savings. No debt, but just moved, so almost nothing left in savings. My car won't last this year and just today the dishwasher broke down. Seems my husband and I are gonna do a whole lot of dishes ourselves and using our bikes a bit more. Looking forward to building up those funds again. So worth it.
Hi Jenn, do you mean, for example, if I cancel my Audible subscription which is $14/mth, that I physically put that $14 into my savings envelope every month? Do we keep our saved money in the house not put in the bank? I just found you and I really need you so thank you for what you do. 😊
I am so glad that I read books about money because I went to chase bank to open a checking account and savings account and I didn't get qualified for a savings account only a checking account. So I am going to get my $500 out and close it as soon as I get my debit card because if I was in my early thirties I would have kept that checking account but now that I am in my late thirties I know better. Banks keep you broke because I had $1,500 and took it to Chase Bank and only to find out that I am not qualified for a savings account and probably not even qualified for a business account. I think I need to take a money management course.
How did you pay off $300,000 in 20 months? $15000 a month? What average person has that kind of money? I don’t understand! I needed to be a doctor! But seriously I often see people in the comments saying they paid off large sums of debt in very short times. Even if I was following these rules to a T I don’t have the kind of income that allows me to pay an extra $2000 or so a month. 🤷♀️ I feel so overwhelmed and it never seems to get better.
I totally understand your frustration but first- you can’t compare yourself to others. Your situation will be different from EVERYONE else’s and that is okay! We left our home in Florida and lived in an RV in CA for a job opportunity. We sold everything we had to pay off a lot of that debt. Once those payments that were going to go the bank start to get paid off- now you are able to send double and triple payments to other debts. The sacrifices have to be made- it’s a choice everyday to put being debt free first. Also, I had high debt because we have higher income. It’s all relative. Do what you need to do to get YOUR debt paid off. Keep your head up and don’t get discouraged. You can do it! 💛🤩
Here’s the trick that I find to work. Instead of putting your cash into a savings account that is easy access to use for bs spending, give cash to your spouse/partner that you KNOW won’t spend the cash. Have them put it in the secret spot. Don’t even ask how much they have saved. I was shocked with the amount we saved.
Hello Jen, maybe you have already shared this or maybe you'd rather not share it, but what program do you (and/or April) use to make all these worksheets? In function of my own business I could do with worksheets looking this nice, but right now I'm working in Word and I don't think I can make anything look as nice as this (and I'm not sure I am legally even allowed to sell anything made in Word). Thanks in advance and kind greetings from Belgium, Veerle
@@2SisterBees Thank you for answering - I tried this afternoon in Canva and my first design failed when printed (a bottom part is not printed) and I don't know how to fix it. But I'll keep trying ;). Kind greetings!
