In this video I show you how to play the riff and the solos in "The Girl I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair" recorded live at the BBC on 6.16.1969. It's a great example of the kind of songs Zep could quickly throw together around a riff, and it's also a great showcase for Jimmy's 1969-era lead playing.

While is IS REALLY AWESOME, I'd call it a demonstration. A get to know the song. More for advanced players. Great, thanks for reminding us all of a very cool song!

I get what you're saying, and thanks for saying it in a polite way and with some compliments. I am trying to do these in a different way than a lot of videos I've seen on RUclips. I'm trying to waste as little of the viewers time as possible. I don't want to bore people talking about intervals or talking through the fret numbers of each note. I'm playing through it so that you can judge if my transcription sounds accurate, and to let you see what your fingers are going to need to do. After that, I'm assuming the viewer will take the tab and go to the original recording to get to work on it.
I want these to be quick and fun, like when I was young and my guitar buddies would sit around and show each other "Message in a Bottle" or "Rainbow in the Dark."
If it seems a little advanced, you can always leave out the difficult parts and focus on the simpler ones. Or maybe just learn some of the licks and improvise the rest.
I'm also happy to answer any questions in the comments.

This is awesome! Were never any ill intentions. There are guys who can take a lot from this. I'm just not one of them. I don't really have the time. But it makes want to improve for sure. You played it perfectly from where I sit...lol
Like I said a reminder of a great song
