Tied with 10-50 various Stanton at bats. Is this a baseball team that wants to win a World Series or a softball team that wants to have fun with his buddies win or lose. Because as long as these four clowns are still on the team and we know who they are that's what it feels like.
The infield overall isn't great. There were a few players who got hot at a few times and the outfield has been so good it masked that problem. But DJ and Rizzo aren't right. Gleybor is about the same as he's always been, great at times, but frustratingly inconsistent. For the season, that's fine, but we can't carry that into the postseason. Need to make a couple of moves to win the series. We also need some bull pen help. The starters have been so good it has masked the lack of bull pen depth.
@@ebrownpro Stanton is getting paid now for what he did years ago. Most of that he did with the Marlons, so it wasn't a great deal for the Yankees. He's been great for us at times, but even at his best, he was barely worth the amount he was getting paid. With inflation, his current paycheck isn't as bad as it used to be and when he's hitting well, he's a good DH for the price. But his average is too low to be good overall.
The Yankees need to come through in a big series man. The Orioles, Dodgers, and Red Sox series all had playoff atmospheres and they lost all of those series and played BRUTAL. I think Anthony Volpe over-adjusted from last year. His launch angle is down to 5.7 this year from 14.2 last year. Needs to find a happier middle like around 10 to not hit so many ground balls. Also his extra-base hits tend to be down-the-line as opposed to gappers, so I think he would benefit from going up the middle rather than flaring stuff down the line and having stuff go foul. His defense and base running have both been great though.
Awesome event tonight! Got to meet the whole Talkin Yanks crew for the first time! They could not have been nicer! Special shout out to Jake for paying for my beer! Love you, man! Truly an amazing Fathers Day night out! Just wish our Yanks would’ve shown up…
Embarrassed is right. Showed the whole league how we have a huge weakness that can easily be exploited with Trevy, too. I hate to say it, but is it a good idea for him to be our postseason catcher?
Trevi is the best framer in the league and an average hitter finding a catcher who is a good framer hitter and good at catching people stealing is hard and if there is someone like that they would be insanely expensive to trade for.
I don't think they have ANY willingness to bring up the Martian before they can ensure he won't have enough games to qualify as a rookie this year. They want him to be their ROY candidate next year. They'll bring him up in September.
I always thought letting him get plenty of reps all summer and then bringing him up for the 40 man in September was the best plan, regardless of ROY finagling
I know we have the best record but, losing 2 in a row, to Boston, is something to worry about. And must I mention, Gleyber HAS to go. He just doesn’t look like he wants to be apart of this team. Everyone must be on board.
Well everyone always thought that an injury would solve the Jasson Dominguez outfield logjam issue. Just didn't think the injury would be Dominguez again.
Gleybor has ZERO Baseball IQ. Every fan, every player on both sides knew there was a fastball coming down the center of the plate at 3-0 count with bases loaded. He lets the first two go by that were perfect pitches on a silver platter for him to hit. I will be glad when he is off this team.
An irritating issue has been occurring at random times recently and it's everyone in the lineup not anyone particular player, the frequency of guys hitting into ground outs is maddening.
Trevi’s arm has been horrendous all year. Surprised this doesn’t happen more often. I think moving forward teams are gonna take advantage of how bad Trevi is at throwing.
The cat's out of the bag now with Trevino's arm, this is going to be a problem. Yanks will need to work on containing the running game. Both Wells and Trevino are below average throwing guys out stealing. I'm all for swapping out Austin Wells for Ben Rice, but Trevino is not going away so it will be something he has to deal with.
