Agent Smith is more important to the franchise than almost everyone else
i agree. agent smith made the movies what they are. Every single scene across the trilogy was heightened with the knowledge of his existence and the threat he posed. To me, smith wasnt just a foil character to neo, but a character that was eerily relatable with his dissatisfaction with his status quo, despite being someone that had the outward appearance of being in complete control.
I need Agent Smith to be the protagonist.
I'm very curious about what a Hive mind Protagonist like Smith Clones would be like.
Every role Hugo touches is good. He is the most underrated actor of our time. My favorite scene is an out take in Lord of the Rings where he pulls back the hood he wears as Elrond and he is wearing his agent Smith glasses. Classy and funny as hell!
He is the voice of "megatron" also in the 1st transformers👽

Yesss! We want Hugo Weaving and a movie focused on Smith would be phenomenal! He's always been my favorite character and a wildcard in the Matrix universe.
My hopes for this one:
1. Neo with short hair and shaved face
2. Hugo Weaving's Smith vs. Jonathan Groff's Smith
3. Trinity flying
4. Faster reflexes for fight scenes
5. Exploring the city of IO
6. Kid's return as an old man
7. Visiting the graves of people who died in the Battle of Zion, including Mifune
8. Flashbacks during the time gap in between Revolutions and Resurrections, with Laurence Fishburne's return as Morpheus
9. Maybe a scene where someone in IO, raising a good Sentinel like a pet.
10. Payoffs to ceratin lines the characters have said.
11. "As long as the Matrix exists, the human race will never be free." Will the Matrix be destroyed at last?

Have him as a vegeta like character. A necessary evil that we arent sure we can trust but neo is somehow forced to turn to him. Their interactions and banter would be absolutely gold if done well

I am 100% onboard for this idea. Give us a movie that focuses heavily on one of the greatest movie antagonists of all time.
Though since Hugo Weaving has clearly aged a lot, and Jonathon Gruff did a pretty good job as the character, I think the best approach would be to have the character have a sort of split-personality. Like, "good Smith" is Jonathan Gruff, out and about doing his thing, but he has almost schizophrenic-like visions in his head of Hugo Weaving Smith monologuing to him with all the hatred and nihilism he had in Revolutions. Kind of like Norman Osborne and the Green Goblin.
Smith as the anti-hero sounds awesome. He can be the Matrix version of Batman.
Knowing WBD, they would probably make him the Matrix version of Deadpool. 😅
Announcement of Matrix 5 gave us hype for two more years which is incredible by following your content at the same time.
And also, we need Laurence Fishburne to return as Morpheus. Not replacing him with a younger actor (No offense, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), but still, we need Lauren and Hugo back in the 5th Matrix.
It's interesting to see how the filter colour in this movie is blue instead of green. Green reminds the monochrome screens and blue to social media such X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook. In fact, the analyst uses blue frames with his glasses.
Agent Smith is/was one of the coolest bad guys out. DARTH VADER TERMINATOR the 2 movie Jokers. Add Agent Smith to the list. His voice and carriage in the 1st 2 was mega cool and the ultimate in sinister. My kinda bad guy 😊
He was a self-replicating program for a while. No reason you can't have both Agents Smith in the same movie.
2 things I'd like to see from Matrix 5.
1. MORE ACTION THAN 3 & 4! Less robot fights more one on one action.
2. Whether it be Smith or Neo continuing the story, why not bring in the man born inside the machine mentioned in the original trilogy?
How about the Trainman? I want him back! The dopest character in the matrix!

Yeah.... Maybe covering earlier versions of the Matrix and some of the other potentials before Neil (Neo)
I think a prequel would be best served as a tv series most likely on a streaming service to give it the space to tell the story.
Hugo Weaving BETTER return as I’ve always thought that since his mother was the oracle & his father the architect,that Neo has been indirectly teaching him that on account he wud in fact become the one by default. Just my opinion 🤚🏾🔥💯‼️
I don't know about making the 5th movie specifically about Agent Smith, but we definitely need to have Hugo Weaving reprise the role. It just didn't feel the same without him.
Fingers crossed someone actually makes it out of the matrix for the first time.

A movie exploring Agent Smith would be cool but what I'd really like to see is a miniseries (could become a show like Reimagined Battlestar Galactica did) exploring Morpheus' early life, from the time before he was rescued, to when he was, and on to his ascendancy to captain of the Nebuchadnezzar.
I'd like a new story with new characters, wouldn't mind a prequel. The Animatrix is proof it can be done. I would settle for a cinematic adaptation of The Second Renaissance.

The last instalment, Matrix Regurgitations, was a joke. They made a cheap TV movie. It completely sullied the originally trilogy. It took 3 writers to come up with that pile of crap. Don't have faith in Warner Bros. to come up with an original story for the franchise.
It only sullies the first 3 because you let it. Just ignore it and move on.

That would actually be a very cool twist. Focusing the movie on the robots instead of the humans. I’d definitely watch that!
If they do, I don't want them to soften his character. I'll always see him as a twisted, Patrick Batemen-esq character analogous to AM from I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. A psychopath on search of something he can never have - meaning, and therefore terrorizes any reality he's in.

Maybe an idea for Drew Goddard, introduce Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) as *The Suits*...... Have Agent Smith (Weaving) introduced in the room of Monitors...... A red door / blue door is put centrally opposite sides. With more monitors. Both Agent Smiths, Neo and Trinity fight in this room.

Interesting point. It was Agent Smith who was "the one" about to totally destroy The Matrix. Until a deal was cut with Neo.
I could see a 3 moves set around The Second Renaissance. 1 The good time 2 The war 3 The start of the Matrix all set from the machine point of view being very interesting. Im not sure i what to see more Neo or Smith.

I hope they do a block buster movie this time around. There were amazing concepts in the last movie. There's no movie as culturally significant as the matrix.
I've been saying this for a while Smith had to be an integral anomaly. When he was a predecessor to Neo he reset the Matrix. In each integral anomaly has a different part of the code hence the reason why there were six generations of The Matrix because they can only receive part of the code each time once they finally get the full code they can have a 100% success rate. Think about this the Merovingian could have been one of the sixth Smith could have been one of the six so think of it this way there could be others that are just like them still in the program itself if you can gather all the integral anomalies and combine them as one then the Matrix would be no more the prophecy would be fulfilled

I think Matrix 5 focused on new characters possibly Potentials to set up what is going on in a new Matrix or Neo's revised version would be interesting and maybe Smith mentors them and becomes something like the Oracle. I'm a big fan of Hugo so I'd like to see him reprise his role if he is given justice
Hugo Weaving is 64 years old, i dont know if he will accept training on martial arts again. And what about Lawrence Fishburne?
Yes, but then, look at how they addressed that in the recent Indiana Jones movie (specifically the early scenes in the movie). Maybe you have misgivings about AI playing such a role in cinematic arts, but of all movies, you could hardly complain if they took that approach for The Matrix.

old Morpheus the new Oracle, cypher as some rich famous person, the old oracle as the new architect, smith as new trainman, seraph as the new neo 🎉🎉🎉
I didn't even think about that before seeing this video. That is actually a really cool idea. Maybe not the entire movie, but perhaps part of it could focus on Smith while other parts focuse on other characters.
Neo(New), Smith(Balance) & Trinity(3 = 1) are a package deal. You can't have one without the others. Trinity is Neo's connection to the Power Of The Anomaly. Thats why the power of the anomaly was activated when Trinity kissed Neo. Neo is Smith's connection to the power(s). Which Smith provide balance for the equation of the code, the matrix. One of those powers is the connection between The Matrix and The Real World. That's why Smith couldn't escape The Matrix until Neo activated the code via Trinity and then Smith's code was changed from Agent Smith to Smith, to create balance. Due to Neo & Smith activating that connection between them. One way or another all 3; Neo, Trinity & Smith are connected. "It's inevitable!" - Smith. That's why in The Matrix 4 Resurrections all 3 of them have The Power Of The Anomaly. Why Smith was able to overpowered The Analyst. Neo & Trinity are connected. Neo & Smith are connected. Smith & Trinity are connected via Neo. And they are connected not to just The Matrix, but The Real World and All Other Worlds In The Machine World. Why Neo had access to the Architect. They have access to the world where the programs work for the machines like Sati's parents. Before escaping to the matrix before becoming exiles. Access to the "The Suits" or "The Authority(s)". Access To All. Like The 3 Musketeers - "One for all, All for one". And it all; The Matrix, The Real World, The Machine World,... can't exist in balance without the 3. Hopefully Hugo Weaving, Carrie Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves will play their parts. All 3 of them are a package deal. You can't have one without the others. All 3 Of Them = MAGIC.
Again, your videos and ideas are better than Matrix 4.

Agent Smith was The original, first Neo/One in first Matrix with vampires as Agents, from Matrix Reloaded.
Something I don’t understand is if the analyst had control of the people within the matrix, how come or I should say what’s the real purpose of “Jude” introducing Neo (Thomas Anderson) to Tiffany (Trinity) in Matrix Resurrections. Was this part of the Analyst purpose/plan? Is it to show that he’s still in control of the matrix and brag about it? my question is why did he allowed it to happen? It’s very confusing and opens the curiosity. Matrix Explained could you please explain that to me or us please 🙏🏻..
In my opinion this movie needs to be a prequel focus on: Morpheus, Machine civil war, purge And the construction of IO. And needs to explore the concept of modal (The Matrix inside of the matrix) and redpilled programs.

Neo didn't lose his life. He knew exactly where it was at the moment of his death. He gave it to the Machines in sacrifice to save the humans still connected to the Matrix. It wasn't taken from him or left somewhere unintentionally.
They should revisit the beginning of the matrix in the new films there’s so much backstory that we never see or at least make a live action of the animatrix

He dealt with cool action sequences, but not quite Blockbuster level..
Hugo was phenomenal as original.

Honestly I always viewed Smith in Resurrections having an epiphany,a reminder that Smith technically did beat Neo and saw the end result (deletion )so Smith understood that chasing down Neo again was something he didn't want to do anymore instead Smith simply wants to take down the "Suits" and not the Matrix.
However I am not expecting Hugo Weaving back,that ship has sailed, Groff can carry on that part

4:28 Smith's comment about Neo being anyone is a reference to Christ (the chosen one) vs God who plays everyone (smith literally making copies). Meaning, everyone has God in them but not everyone is God.

There’s no need to bring the old characters back. There’s so much more we could do with the Matrix. The one was never meant to save anything, just restart. Ok great, let’s go with that and create new likeable characters with interesting backgrounds as the Matrix evolves as well by learning about the predecessor, Neo. But give Matrix 5 a more greenish feel, like the first film.
At this point they have to bring Hugo back, if they want anyone to care for the next movie.
If most of the original actors and actresses return and the story is compelling.. I mean Matrix 4 disappointing mostly because it was not what I had imagined. Don't know how this one will turn out without the Wachowski's.. but maybe this is a needed change for the franchise.
You can bring back the actors but they won't be able to pull off the same kind of physical action moves again. That's how you get pulsing force powers like Resurrections.

Totally think that Smith should be the focal point of the new Matrix film. After several viewings I came to realize Neo is/was a critical pawn. Smith is a pure AI creation with a more integral connection to the Matrix/Machine world.Neo and Trinity are clones/AI with a pupose of rebooting the Matrix previously. Currently their purpose is providing an amplified power source as a replacement for the Redpills who left after the truce. Smith has seen the Machine World,The Matrix, and the "Real World". He would play a more pivot role in the Destruction of the Matrix, and possibly the removal of the nanobots in the atmosphere. He could also know the location of the Oracle,Architect, and, and many other Exiles and control programs in hiding or lockout in their constructs. I don`t believe everyone was purge. The Analyst may believe he did so, but that could be his ego talking.

I do like Resurrections ultimately, but the original Matrix just has a noire style that the new one is sorely lacking. I'd describe the new style as a sort of "fake wonder" that doesn't hit for me and reminds me of the other recent Wachowski films. Hopefully the new film is more in the spirit of the original vibe.
