Luckily we have experienced the "old world" = 100% reality, grown up with b/w TV in the 60s. I am sorry for the new generation growing up with this "fake world". For businesses, yes, its fantastic. For the human psyche I have my doubts we - as human race - move into the right direction. The emotions we can create with A.I. can tear us apart ... the risks for mental damages are huge. Doing Internet business for more than 30 years, have we overstepped a line ??? Its a serious question about mental health care we have to address.
This just in, generating video costs tons of compute (=money) and probably most the reason sora is still private is because of the insane compute it also costs.
SORA is staying private until after the US Presidential election. they don't want to introduce high resolution deep fakes into this already crazy US election
Dont worry ... the investments into data centers, see latest A.I. data center for MIcrosoft at around 3 billion, will be re-financed eailys by the huge processor speed. Imagine, that one GPU unit of Nvridia's new A.I. specific Blackwell can handle 1.8 million calculations per second, and its just one unit. A data center is built with thousands of such units, and can operate billions if not trillions of operations per seconds. And service millions of customers. Alone on RUclips more than 2.49 billion people in march 2024. Just imagine that huge number. Its nearby 1/3 of human race watching vids. So there is no need to worry about re-payment. The challenge by sure is the pre-investments and to get this financed. But there are trillions out there of capital which seek lucrative investments and by sure A.I. is one option, investors, hedge funds are happy to put their capital into it. It will pay out easily.

I'm so glad we gave the keys to the Library of Alexandria to some tech bros who giggle like little Dutch schoolchildren when they see some keys dangling in front of them. Now we get to enjoy visuals that aren't bogged down by the pesky limitations of weight, framerate, continuity, texture, perspective, momentum, or taste. And it only uses enough energy to burn down 4 houses for each video you generate (not counting all the times you start over because the armor on the super busty, caked-up wood elf isn't showing the clearly defined nipples that you clearly defined in the prompt.) The future is here 🤩

@@christianb8900 With the $15 monthly plan on Runway, you get approximately 1500 credits per month. Since generating 1 second of Gen-3 content costs 10 credits, you can generate around 150 seconds (2.5 minutes) of content per month with these credits. If you run out of these credits, you can purchase additional credits at the rate of $10 for 1000 credits. This additional purchase would allow you to generate another 100 seconds (1 minute and 40 seconds) of Gen-3 content. So, combining them for $25 150 seconds (2.5 minutes) from the initial monthly credits 100 seconds (1 minute and 40 seconds) from the additional purchase This totals approximately 4 minutes and 10 seconds of Gen-3 content. So imagine the content you generate isn't up to your ideals for half your generations and you want to make an actual full episode of something 20-60 mins, going to cost hundreds of dollars/maybe even thousands. Not sure if the unlimited generations for $95 a month will be worth it, if gen3 takes hours to generate something (they mentioned a more casual slower generation mode for unlimited) and when there's millions of users, could take weeks before you get 10 minutes of useable content. $15 is not really an accurate representation of how much it costs if you are serious.

Wild times! Back in 2012 I was predicting that 'personalised media' (that's the term I used) would become mainstream in the 2080s/2090s lol. @@incription ikr, I was thinking the same exact thing, I need at least to generate 5-20 minutes of content to get a feel for it. Needs to at least give 10x the amount of generations...*sighs*
It's impressive, but you don't give any possibility to test it and know if we will get performance out of it. Gen-2 uses 5 credits per second of video generated. Gen-3 Alpha uses 10 credits per second of video generated. I have 10 credits in my account, how is it possible that I can do something viable in 1 second? How am I going to practice with one second? The basic plan is $15 a month, that's 62 seconds of generations per month. And that's assuming that it gives you what you ask for the first time, because if he doesn't give you what you want, you'll blow your credits just by learning. From my point of view, I am not going to pay a subscription if I can't even know how to take advantage of it. It is a pity. You should consider giving carte blanche for a while to people who create content using artificial intelligence, because there are many platforms that offer a good trial period, and a new one is discovered every day. You are great, but I can't test you, therefore I don't know what results you can give me. If I have a trial period and it works for me, I will probably subscribe, but not otherwise. Honestly, your application is the one that I have tried the least, and I have not visited you again. But you are great, and thanks for this video! all the best 👍💪
On the Runway Standard plan, this video would cost $45 and 3 months to create and that's assuming every single second of all of my creations were used in this video and nothing was re-rolled or re-generated, trimmed or edited out. You guys are pricing out 99% of your customers. You're charging $15/month for 62 seconds of generated video. Even Luma gives us 30 generations of 6 second videos for free each month.
its not expensive. Imagine you can generate 3 vid ideas (each 20 seconds) for a TV commercial for 15 bucks. A customer of an agency want see maybe 5 ideas for the final pitch. I suppose an agency will generate maybe 20 variants x 30 seconds = 600 seconds to select from there the 5 best, so in total its 150 bucks to pay. And with little bit brain storming, briefing, sales staff, the agency maybe has to pay 3 people over one week to get this job done, so its roughly 7500 bucks per week for the agency. And the customer will be charged with at least 2000, if not 5000 bucks for one TV ads clip. Mostly a customer will buy in different ads campaigns, and a series of ads clips. - So its easily repaid. Think in business, man. If a customer books just 3 clips, the agency makes profits with just one work, 3 people on the payrole. 20 years ago we had a project with a global food concern. They wanted a Guiness Book world record as PR campaign, which was done on a weekend ... the whole weekend costed 1/2 million bucks. So what are you talking here about ? Its peanuts money you get access to a tool, which can make you dammed wealthy in very short time. Imagine you make now promo clips for local SMEs in your city/village and sell a package of 3 clips each 15 seconds (typical format on Tiktok shorts) for 450 bucks. Its pretty profitable for every freelancer, isn't ?
@@PoM.PeaceofMindbut in AI video you have to reroll every shot about 100 times before getting something that is barely even really passable. This is according to Shy Kids and their Sora Balloonhead video which also required extensive traditional vfx and editing. So it's really more like $4000 for this video presented here. This is totally out of reach for students, beginners, solo artists trying to break in, indie film makers with no budget, hobbyists, etc. Especially given the current AI video state where you pretty much have to take what you are given and have no character consistency or fine control.
@@ksprdk$15 gets you 625 credits which gives you 62 seconds of gen3 video. Adding 1000 credits would get you another 100 seconds. This video is 142 seconds. So yes, if you never rerolled and used every second of generated video without cuts, you could make a 162 second video of random janky clips. But everyone knows that you have to reroll about 100 times to get anything close to useable. In reality, at these rates, you need about $4000 of credits to make a 2 minute video that has any chance at telling a consistent story.
@@High-Tech-Geek And how much would you estimate that it would cost to shoot this video with real actual footage? Could it be done for $400k, so 100x, don't think so?
Now share the prompts used to create these. Chances are these were iterations upon iterations. For one person to get that result will likely cost them all of their credits because the initial prompt, while detailed, may not perfectly match what Runway's modeling is looking for as an input. Half of the problem with using these tools is learning how each model wants to be prompted in order to create the desired output.
The prompts must be crazy for these. Im thinking the user probably uploaded a ton of inspo pics? Idk how one even goes about describing this via text. Might as well write a book if youre this talented.
@@yelenatersargsyan2899 Exactly my point. Half of the problem with using these tools is learning how each model wants to be prompted in order to create the desired output. If they want us to use their product, they need to show us behind the scenes how to properly use it -- especially if this is what they're using to showcase as an example of what is possible.

What you have just witnessed isn't merely the demonstration of AI's fidelity when it comes to creating realistic imagery, it's much more than that. It is the distant prelude to The great filter, the explanation to Fermi's paradox, humanity will never reach stars because it's gonna be completely replaced by AI and virtual realm in which it will reside. A selfsustaining entity with little or no interest in the external world. This video is equally facilitating and frightening.
You dont know how many hundreds of employees they needed to get that promo thing done. Project manager: Guys, today we are 270 people in the work shift.
You can buy extra credits for $10 per 1000, so you could create it in a day :)
Within 5 years we will see many award-winning movies made only from text.
Definitely plenty of potential Golden Rasperry Awards, that's for sure.
Наконец-то, но 60 секунд на месяц это смешно. Надеюсь Sora выйдит быстрее после этого реализа
Wonderful!
Share the prompts please, so we can learn quicker!
You can view some prompts on their website
If they want us to use their product, they need to show us behind the scenes how to properly use it -- especially if this is what they're using to showcase as an example of what is possible.
promt: Three gray pyramids with futuristic details floating in a snow forest with blue fire below recording made by the arri Alexa lf camera and the Mercury atlas lens with dramatic and warm colors slightly blurred scene and camera shaking a little
Impressive. Very nice.
Now let's see the hands.
I CAN'T WAIT TO USE THIS!!!
Congrats! Looking forward to using this on some projects!
Shake shake shake it for Charlie!
those eyes close shots.. were amazing
I just created a zombie film using Gen-3 and once I got used to prompting like a film director, the results were great. Still far from perfect and way too expensive, but it's only getting better (and one day cheaper).
Shortly after Sora’s reveal, Cristóbal Valenzuela was asked if Runway will reach Sora’s level. His response? “Better.” He wasn’t lying, it seems.
omg we're at the beginning of real cyberpunk
This is starting to get insanely good.
You guys are phenomenal ❤ thank you so much 😊
hats off. one question- what were the texts to generate these? any clue?
Miranda Priestly should be proud!
Sales video project starting this month so the timing couldn't be perfect! This will definitely make me subscribe D
The bells at the end toll for the filmmakers of old…
You guys really need to either adjust the prices, or allow for hundreds of generations in a month. You guys have priced out a lot of people.
360p 🤡🤡✊🏻 yeaaay!!! After 100 years you releasing this ? 🤡🤡🤡✊🏻 keep it up
We’re cooked
What you have just witnessed isn't merely the demonstration of AI's fidelity when it comes to creating realistic imagery, it's much more than that.
It is the distant prelude to The great filter, the explanation to Fermi's paradox, humanity will never reach stars because it's gonna be completely replaced by AI and virtual realm in which it will reside. A selfsustaining entity with little or no interest in the external world.
This video is equally facilitating and frightening.
lets be real. It looks like sht, moves like sht, and heavily limited
fantastic! can't wait to generate music videos for our up-coming AI songs🙂
Now image to video! cannot believe this wasn’t shipped with that feature.
I’m trying it out and 99% of the prompts that I get don’t look nearly that good
You dont know how many hundreds of employees they needed to get that promo thing done. Project manager: Guys, today we are 270 people in the work shift. I expect from you per minute at least 5 new prompt text ideas to get a 3 second sequence done. I give you in the next 4 hours till midday break time to generate 81,000 prompt variants, then our A.I. will analyse all ideas and pick out the top 10. The best 3 prompts will get an extra bonus today of 500 bucks. Ready to go ? Time runs now! (presses the button)
that's whole point of doing it yourself no? if you have a braindead prompt of course ur going to get a braindead reply
Would be interesting to see the whole prompts in written Text Form
damnnnn, the close up shot, real threat for other AI
Not really tried for a month. It is not as good as promoted
@@iKINDREAD I think this came out 6 hours ago so trying it for a month would be imposable unless you had the beta, I think you tried gen- 2
@@that-one-music-guy Yes you’re right. I have had the luxury to witness beta through a friend and it did not impress me much. It is amazing piece of tech but the videos you see have been perfected over many trial and errors. So if our do get it make sure you get unlimited
@@iKINDREADOh ok I see, thanks for the clarification, I mean it makes sense, there obviously going to cherry pick for there advertisement, and I'm sure they've spent countless hours in post,
can you just tell me how much it cost to use your product
Okay, now I'm terrified.
The craze of sora is now over
The amount of work involved here. What a video. Bravo 👏👌
wait... are we able to turn our favorit books that had no movie adaptaions in to one!
Holly shit! F yea!!!!!
Awesome !
I knew it was a good time to quit being a youtube filmmaker..crazy times
Congratulations…now is the time to push harder than ever
- Вы испугались?
- Обосрался
we’re witnessing history right here
I can't wait for Runaway-4, seriously... THIS IS ONLY GEN 3 FOR THIS PROGRAM AND LOOKS SO GOOD!
why are people always talking about the next gen? it does not exist yet, and this is amazing. Stop dreaming about the future and start living in the present
@@h20dancing18
I only imagine what it could be like, what could be the next thing that could come, everything I think about now is just speculation and imagination or at least partially, it's not that I expect Gen 4 to come out tomorrow. Something similar to what happened with Dall.E, Midjourney and Stable Diffusion with their evolution in just a few years (maximum a decade or 12 years). But now with this generation 3 of Runway, it looks PHENOMENAL. You can compare it to Gen 2 and you can see the difference.
Love it
Hmm, A Magnific like Video Upscaler will Change the Game!
The facial generation is unbelievable! Amazing, impressive and breathtaking - yet simultaneously rather disturbing. Looks like we've finally bridged the Uncanny Valley and now I'm not sure I want to cross it. The repercussions for society are going to be profound.
Incredible results, thank you ❤
If you create a vid of a control room, is there a way to make the camera not move? I tried entering tripod shot but the camera still panned.
1920x1080xRxGxB start from black all pixels in active. All the way up to white all pixels active and infinity ♾️ in between.
Well done Runway there is no ways this was easy.
Ok Sir I have a small doubt I want to do a short film by Ai. If it is an episode, even if it is done in the last episode, the character should be continued for the next episode, how can it be done?
It’s all very good, but the censorship is very evident. You can’t even show a man flexing his muscles or a bit of violence. I’m not saying they shouldn’t censor strong content, but this is too much because you can’t create anything if you’re censored.
1:07 made me chuckle
why?
What books do you recommend about the mind? I like how you always leave on a positive note, letting me know they are creators in how they control their own thoughts and what they want out of life.
Insane improvements in ai video generator that it's scary. Btw, you guys shoulda used can you hear the music for background
Its scares me so much. I dont want leave current world to transferr to next world if we get it in the future.
Price is way too high. I wonder if we’ll get image to video… if not, will never be worth it for lots of people.
Black mirror last season episode 1 (Joal is awful). It's happening soon everybody. They can create all of our movies with this tecnology. Holy moly it's so creepy. 😮
Like with Luma AI, they only show the good parts until you actually test them out
This ad is Ai saying “Hello, can you see me now?”
this might just be better than Luma
What are some legitimate use cases for this?
Pricing is ridiculous and rarely produces results this good on the first attempt. If computing is such a huge cost, why not offer a software version to those of us who have machines that can render locally on our own hardware?
I have requested a refund about 1,5 weeks now, no reply no interest from any one resolving this request for me, why is no one responding back to my request?
i love this
Can provide prompt for each segment. @Runway
this would be helpful!
Wow this is more realistic than Avatar 2.
