In this video Sarah demonstrates how to navigate a typical rubbish British pavement with a right to left camber, pot holes, drains, dips and loose grit. Sarah is already a wheelchair user so does a great job. As like with anything operating your wheelchair well is all just down to practise.

At LITH-TECH we don't allow a walk in policy, its strictly appointment only. As a specialist customers need your full care and attention to get the correct mobility chair for their needs.
For that reason we offer two extensive demos a day one in the morning at 11.30 and one at 2.30.
These demos take between 1 - 2.5 hours depending on how long we need to spend with you.
First off we will sit you down with a drink and we will have an in-depth consultation to establish your needs for the chair and what you want to use it for etc.
We will then make some recommendations and looking at seating positions and if you need to have a custom mix and match solution or if one of our standard models is suitable.
We will then run through a comprehensive demo, showing you all run the chair. What each part does, the easiest ways of folding and unfolding and how to charge and remove the batteries.
We will demonstrate the chairs usability inside and then pass it over to you to have a go. First we do a few laps of the warehouse and get you used to operating a joystick and navigating doorways etc, we will adjust the settings of your chair using a programmer so that you feel comfortable using it.
Now for the most important part of the demo, and something no other company does like we do.
We take you out in the chair to a local cul-de-sac and actually teach you how to use (unlike most companies who just sell you a chair and send you on your merry way)
We go through how to take kerbs, forward and backward, how do take cambers as this can sometimes be quite scary for new wheelchair users and we look at hills, grass and cobbles.
Once we both feel comfortable that you can use the chair safely (and with a bit of practise) this will be a mobility solution that enhances your life we will head back to the warehouse. Where we we now look at how we will get the chair in and out of the car.
Are we going to one man lift it? are we going to two man lift? are we going to use 5ft ramps or 6fth ramps or does the individual need a hoist?!
Once the customer is happy with everything and wants to proceed (only 2 in every 20 demos don't buy on the spot after a demo) we will do the paper work while the warehouse team make up the chair and the deal is done with the customer leaving with the right chair to suit their needs but also knowing how to use it in a safe and controlled way. So it gives them freedom on their outings and not scares them.
