I was in The Cage!! You can see me in the left hand corner of the Cage in a green top!!! Look carefully. You see me quite well from 2 minutes 23 seconds onwards!! Quo were great to talk to inbetween filming and even threw water over us. Rick said we weren't as messy as they used to get!!! Great fun being in The Cage!!!
Tiswas was an all-live early Saturday morning show for kids, with a great many kids present. It was extremely unpredictable, daring and slapstick. Oh, and Iron Maiden also went on there. They got slimed. It's not that different from today. Today, bands aim music at young kids as well as more mature listeners. Back then, kids watched Tiswas and everyone else was either Old Grey Whistle Test or Top of the Pops. If you wanted the kids, you wanted Tiswas and you wanted "childish" humour.

Either they used ultrapure water (doesn't conduct) or the stagehands were geniuses. Possibly both. I am very, very impressed Quo continued even with the Phantom Flan Flinger. How many bands today could handle it?
Rhino Rick and Frame seem to enjoy it. Matt and Andy don't. Imagine what would have happened if they did that to the Stones! Ronny lying on the floor, dying from laughter, while Keith chases the masked pie guy through the Studio with his Tele as a weapon.
I've seen this loads of times. It's great. But I always think - why aren't they dead? The singing is live, surely? Great band, great song, I don't know much about electricity
