THANK YOU for voicing the ridiculous lead teams for artwork. This has been a frustration of mine for years. My guess is one guy started doing it and everybody else followed suit and now it's just a vicious circle. I've voiced my concerns about this over the years on various forums and I always get lambasted because, well really there is no reason, it just seems to be the thing to do. 😡
A classic case of “just do it” and then it’ll be done. No replacement for just working it. Thanks for insights as always 👊🏻😎🕹️ Ps. I vote try to rebuild the original as well.
I can completely relate to your frustrations on getting stuff. I looked into getting a Pac Man marquee, and it was going to be 6 - 8 weeks lead time + shipping time. If I wanted it 3 months from now, I wouldda started the project THREE MONTHS FROM NOW!😂
I did the same method on a blown out Defender corner, you're right, it found its way out, I didn't know to use heat on it but it was hot weather so it did cure enough to harden and seal, I just had to sand the drips, I did the same with the screws too.. it turned out great. I think it might have been one of your earlier videos where I learned the method actually now I think about it. Tell you what though. People try to use bondo to build up corners but it just smashes off if you knock it so the resin is a lot better. Thanks man
@ honestly they both are they take so much material away so quickly that the vacuum system can’t keep up with it but at least it’s not floating in the air. I kind of just falls to the floor
Seems to be everyone so far is for rebuilding the power supply, as do I. I do the screws as well to help give grip, but never used the heat gun on it before.
I would run the original power supply. If it starts to give issues then maybe consider replacing it but I'd probably leave it in the cab either way. I'm running the original power supply in my Astro Blaster which is very similar. I did replace caps etc.
@@adrianpurser good to know thank you I’ll have to see if there’s a cap kit. If not, I’ll have to order individual caps. I might have them. I have to see what values they are
If the PS didn't having a matching serial #, I'd say go with a switching PS. However, this is like finding a classic car with a numbers matching engine! Just my opinion! Do what's best for you! your money, your hobby! As long as the PS can be restored so it's reliable.
@@thomasberrios9651 will do it was working, but it was taking a while to turn on and the capacitors are swelled up, so I’m gonna replace the capacitors and see if that fixes the issue

@@atariforever2002 yeah I just don’t get it. I guess people just don’t wanna make money. I’d be pumping that shit out right and left.lol

@@tedadamgreen yep I’m going to rebuild the original power supply and thank you. I appreciate it.

lol yeah I don’t understand it

Awesome yeah fiberglass resin is the way to go. Bondo will literally just bust off the corner and be honest with the resin is easy to do.
Awesome corner fix Troy I’ve done this type of fix restoring Wood furniture tables or drawer corner good times, the cab is looking a bit spiffy!
Thank you
@ Anytime Troy!
Mudbuster for the win, once again!
Yep but the belt sander kicked butt too
@@troylukans2174 Belt sander looks kinda messy, tho.

I think you should rebuild the original power supply. As long as it's not one of the ones like in QIX that burn up and catch fire.
@@ScottyBrockway I don’t think the one in this cabinet does that I’ll look and see if I can find a cap kit

Yeah I am going to rebuild it
Troy rebuild the original. Would really like to see how that goes. Im always buying games never know if I may have to do one.

If you'd rather use the original power supply and it's going in there anyway I would have a go at fixing it 👍
Yep I’ll have to get a cap kit for it
rebuild the original power supply
I’ll look for a kit thanks
