I’m a long-time Patreon supporter, and what we heard of the EQs sounds good. I’d love a straightforward explanation of the audio signal flow and what each control does!
I've just answered a similar question, and I'll continue to do mix streams where I explain it. Signal flow is rather unusual! It's Kalman filtered parallel dynamics, and then the EQs are also parallel to the compression so they are never compressed (but they are gated with the dynamics). That means, treat the EQs as a 'window' into the intensities of the sound, not so much as broad shaping. The highpass and lowpass will give you broad shaping in conjunction with Stonefire :)
i never doubted that it was coming but NOW IT'S HERE!!! we're the blessed ones for it, but still... dude, congratulations. this is a megalith of a project and you brought it to us with your hands (almost) alone, despite an autoimmune neurological meltdown-triggering virus trying to stop you toward the end! in case it wasn't already obvious, i just have a lot of esteem for you my guy.

And if I do put lets say consolxbuss on a folder track as the first insert can i put the consolexchannel at the end of the inserts of that same folder track? Hope to hear from you soon
Hello, Chris, I have a question about using ConsoleX - does it make sense to use it for recording and not just mixing? If so, can you suggest some kind of audio flow in the input inserts? Thank you in advance for your answer.

Chris, do you have any indications available of the signal path through all of the ConsoleX plugins? Specifically, I'd like to know where Discontinuity and the StoneFire dynamics processors exist within the chain.
Sure. StoneFireAir and the EQs are parallel. Stone and Fire are compressed and gated: the EQs are NOT compressed but they are gated, as is Air (with the most appropriate gate). Discontinuity runs after everything else, both on the channels and on the buss. Lowpass and Highpass are distributed so there's a little of them all through the plugin, meaning you can use Lowpass as an aliasing filter, especially at higher sample rate (fully counterclockwise/left it will switch off tho).
Here comes lots of questions... Do we drop ConsoleX in as a single plugin on the channel and master buses with no ConsoleX pre stage between it and other plugins? Should other plugins come before or after ConsoleX? Is there no special way for handling submixes?
You use Console X Channel and Buss like other consoles (Console 9 for instance). You can use Consolexpre anywhere and it doesn't need to be used with channel and buss. ConsoleX Pre it's console as a standalone. It is usefl ifyou don't want to use the console mixing typology but want ConsoleX Processing.

So far, bugs not withstanding, I’m liking the sound of consolexpre a lot. That way you don’t lose your compression settings if you want to check their efficacy against dry. Just ideas for further releases if you’re still up for refinements
When I need that I just sweep the ratio knobs to 1/1 (hard left), and that'd work for the gating too. I get that it's four knobs rather than say one button, but I think using ratio on these is pretty important so I encourage using the ratios more actively. The trick there is that they ARE dry, so they'll work as dry.
@@airwindows that would work fine for me if I could see/type in the values of where I was before. When im a/bing a value I want to make sure I can get back to exactly that value, if that makes sense. What I would do on your other plugins is copy the setting and then paste. Maybe that’ll work once the instantiation bug is fixed.
if someone can add some code so that the user loaded image in the background is auto size able when we resize the plugin then that might be cool. i think it would only be a small bit of code. what kind of code is this written in. kudos to you for getting this far ! : )
Trouble is, the resizing can't be constrained to a given aspect ratio in all DAWs (or even most) so you can't rescale the image, and even if you resize the image the controls reflow in different aspect ratios. It's JUCE code written in C++ and it's open source so if you'd like to try your hand, go for it! :)
My reaper seems to not load any presets, neither even default one, tried creating new default preset with compressor off, no loading,, just same plugin with no reaction to changing preset, vst3 reaper 28
Hello, I have just installed version 0.06 Chris, I have a question which version is the most stable, because the last one is a bit unstable, I started muting the paths, I work on Cubase Windows system, Regards
If you're able to use it AT ALL on Cubase Windows I'm thrilled! And 0.0.6 is the most recent one and most stable so far… and if you're able to come up with crash logs I want to hear about it. I can't run this on a Windows system, I don't have one (the machine I build WinVST2s on is a virtual machine that couldn't run this, and on Github it's being built by Github automation). So I'm going to need to get information from Windows users so I can debug it from a distance.
@@airwindows So, Chris, after installing everything seemed fine, but after a while it deleted the recorded guitar audio, then I had a problem closing the project, I mean closing the entire DAW cubase, trying to run the DAW, it opened without both audio guitar sheets, only after uninstalling the plugins, both of these guitar tracks have appeared again in the project, I really depend on these plug-ins, they are more for me understandable because they have a GUI, PLEASE CHRIS FIGHT FOR THESE PLUGINS, GREETINGS

I've not taught it to understand presets. I just barely got to having it remember settings o_O
@@airwindowsI’m having the same issue btw. Consolexpre loads a few db quieter than unity and I wanted to make a preset to offset that
Chris is that hd600 headphones? Thank you for all your plugins.
Yes they are. And glad I made more than just these ones, and that I included the retro AU/VST2 ones
@@airwindows I don't know if it's still important, but in version 0.0.3, which also works, there was a problem that when opening a few plugins to create a visual mixer on the screen with your plugins, it turned off the entire cubase
Hello Chris,I have a question, will you be able to fix the bugs on Windows plugin with GUI,because without GUI it works fine, just I will have to learn to read this plugin without graphics, thanks again for your efforts, you are like an Angel walking on earth, regards
i love your plugins but its over kill on how many knobs for one thing... i may as well have a mouse. also the encoders look like they need refinement
