You speak the most beautiful, passionate Klingon I have ever heard. Your pronunciation is perfect. Your English is flawless, also. (I’m an American, for what that is worth.) WELL done!
Great video! I do not get the complainers. Try to speak a foreign language few weeks after you start to learn it. You will get similar results. The actors are new with the language, and as they work more with the language they will do it better (as in the real life). Aren't those complainers aware that with the actors talking Klingon all the time, the vocabulary of the Klingon language is increasing (as it can be seen in this video). DSC is bringing a renaissance for the students of Klingon :D
I don’t know if Marc will remember this or not. It was about 18 years ago. I unknowingly had dinner and a beer with Marc back in 2004. I was a part of a small short movie back in 2003-4 called First Session. After we premiered it at a theatre in Washington DC, the cast, crew and friends all went out to a restaurant for food and drinks. I sat down next to a guy and it just happened to be Marc Okrand. He was a friend of someone in the movie (Scot McKenzie I believe) and was invited. Even being a Trekkie and liking Klingon I didn’t know his name immediately, but once we talked for a little bit, it clicked and I realized who I was sitting next to. I knew a few phrases and think I might’ve even surprised him a little with a Klingon question outside of Star Trek. I later saw a play that had a small “Klingon opera” segment that Marc was a part of. Never know who you may randomly meet. 😊
James Doohan was the actor as you know, who created the first 8 Klingon words in Star Trek The Motion Picture, there Mark Lenard, which you know is playing Spocks father Sarek and in Star Trek TMP he played the Klingon Captain :) I don't remember how many years ago I came across a website contains Klingon Words with Translation in English from the subtitiles in these Star Trek movies, there Klingonese is spoken :) Here is the 8 Klingon words from Star Trek TMP and what they means : STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE (ST:TMP) Marc Okrand has always given full credit to James Doohan and Mark Lenard for creating the eleven original words that he used as the basis for tlhIngan Hol. (Not a great deal to base a whole language upon really.) This is Okrand's version of the opening scene (done after the fact) with the subtitles as they appeared in the movie: wIy cha' Display tactical! HaSta Visual (display)! cha yIghuS [Tactical], stand by on torpedoes! 'eH Ready. [captain raises his hand in preparation for the order to fire] SSS... baH Ready... Fire! juntaH Evasive [action]!
Thank you :) I'm sorry if I bother you in any way Lieven? I did asked you and Marc a question about these first Klingon words, which was used in Star Trek Voyager episode - Real Life, but I didn't got any reply from him or you? There are some websites with transcripts from Star Trek Episodes, with Klingon words in them, but some websites contains wrong contents what they are saying in Klingon :( Here is an example : BELLE: Daddy! EMH: Jeffery, this is unacceptable. JEFFREY: It'll only take a minute. We have some business we have to do. EMH: Business? JEFFREY: HIquoS, pos'tach. LARG: NuqneH. JEFFREY: HIquoS, pos'tach. LARG: NuqneH. is not what Jeffrey and Larg is saying in Star Trek Voyager episode - Real Life, which is mention in a website called : www.chakoteya.net/StarTrek/index.html But in a Czech Star Trek fan website the transcripts from ST VOY episode Real Life Jeffrey and Larg is saying this : JEFFREY : yigHoS pa'wijdaQ. LARG : Qay'be'. I have watched ST Voyager all 7 season 2-3 times already and I have listen well, what it is said in these episodes I have watched and the klingon friend Larg in ST VOY episode Real Life did not said NuqneH, but Qay'be'. Which means No problem or You are welcome :) But what did JEFFREY said to his Klingon friends Larg and K'Kath, when he welcome them in the house? I'm not sure, but the said something about room or? I have search on internet about what Jeffrey said in Klingon and translation on these words, when he invited Larg and K'Kath inside the house. Sorry to ask you about that.
@@MoodMan35 No, you don't bother me. Regarding the episode, I don't have the time to check back, but I can assure that some of the words spoken there do not make much sense and are not real Klingon.
Hello Lieven ☺️ About my question I was wondering about for some days ago I assume that actor, who was playing Jeffrey in Star Trek Voyager episode Real Life was saying like this to these guys who were playing Klingon K'Kath and Larg, when he inviting them inside the house : Follow me to my room or Follow to my room, that is what he said in Klingon when it is translated. But that is what I believe it means.
I just started learning Klingon. imagining a mouthful of teeth helps the pronunciation for me. also predominantly keeping the tongue in the middle of the mouth to form the tlh, gh, D, Q, and S sounds helps me. it's sounds more gutteral and non-human.
@@ElPayasoMalo No, that was just a joke. He does not speak Morskan. But it is true that I needed a little to understand his way of speaking, and then it got better. - But after all: I do understand all of what they speak.

But do you Lieven or Marc Okrand know, what these Klingon words which was said in Star Trek Voyager episode Real Life, which EMH his son Jeffrey and his Klingon friends Larg said. I know what Larg said in Klingonese, when you translate it or look up that words, which is You are welcome or No problem ( qay'be' ) But what Jeffrey said in Klinonese, when he invited K'Kath and Larg inside the house I don't know, what he said in English even though I think he said Let's go to my room or Let's go up to my room/quaters :) Sorry to bother you Lieven and have asked you the same question before, but when you can better Klingon than me and Marc Okrand is still the creator to Klingon you shall know about it :)
I mean, it makes sense that the inhabitants of Kronos call themselves Klingons. The inhabitants of planet Earth call themselves Humans, not earthlings. But when they talk about inhabitants of other places they get named after place they come from. If we found aliens on Mars, we Humans would certainly call them Marsians.

Marc Okrand is a wonderful bloke. :-)
I do wonder: Is your klingon so fluent that you can understand T'kuvma without subtitels?
Yes, I do. After I got used to his Morskan dialect.
hah, that must be amazing. He has an accent? Maybe you should do a video about morskan klingon ;)
Would it be possible to translate Iving Welsh's book "Trainspotting" into Morskan Klingon?

Entzückend!
Mir fällt die für das Klingonische recht günstige Akustik auf.
Marc ist ja sehr zurückhaltend. Ist er immer so?
Das liegt wohl nur daran, dass ich selbst so viel gesprochen habe. Er kann selbst auch viel erzählen und ist nicht immer so zurückhaltend.
the many cuts made it a bit weird, but i liked it!
Sorry for those cuts, they were just necessary because we talked, and talked, and had a lot of fun, but then drifted of several times.
KlingonTeacher Could we see a director's cut of this? I wouldn't mind seeing the full discussion. I find it all to be fascinating. :-)
Good idea. I may work on this later :-)
Wäre es möglich auch es mal zu übersetzten? Bitte????

I'm not referring to anything; I'm saying it's funny, like endearing.
Ah, okay. Well, you actually wrote "I DON'T KNOW why it's funny"... so...
Hahha, yes, what that means is, I can’t put my finger on why it’s so funny to me.

boQwI' says that Hagh probably cannot a direct object, so I'd say it's a safe bet it should be "jIHagh" - "I laugh".
