It’s because this is not really “clay”. Clay is a soil mix of minerals. What Sukerukun (the brand of this product) makes is “resin clay”, it’s almost completely just resin. And resin is a polymerised organic compound btw, a plastic. Does not have minerals. Chemically speaking, Sukerukun is basically not clay at all
I want you to try Sculpey air dry porcelain clay! It is way underrated! It is softer and a little stickier than regular polymer clay but it dries much harder and is pretty translucent. No baking either!!
6 months is a good amount of time for most gooey things to properly setup and cure. I would imagine it will get a tiny bit more clear, but you are looking at what the limit of clarity will be..... UNLESS, you male them smaller, flatter, less mass.
Well the brand as shown in the vid seems to be すけるくん (sukerukun) and すける (sukeru) basically means transparent in Japanese, so it’s pretty much in the name. I’ve never used it before but I guess it’s a type of resin clay. I see how people would mistake it as normal air-dry clay if they don’t speak or read Japanese tho. Anyway, they look sooo cute and jelly like omg I might just try this clay out for my next project hehe
This is so cool! Do you have a link to the clay? I wanna give it a try, but i unfortunately can’t read Japanese to look it up myself 😅 (Sorry, I’m blind. Just saw the English writing when I paused again)
They look like they were sculpted with Vaseline in the best way possible
YES! I think I need to get more of this clay and do some more experiments.....

This is what I always expected “translucent clay” to look like as a kid
This stuff is commonly used to make display foods for shop windows! My dad used to have a bunch of miniatures made out of this stuff from Japan.
That genuinely is a "fun fact"😄
What if you make a heart out of normal clay and put it into a clear clay sculpture?? Wouldn't that be ultra cute? :0
YESYESYESYESYES!!!!! More likes on this comment pleeeeaaassseeee i NEED to see if his works 😍😍😍

WOWAH
@lbrando18 Yes, ice cubes!! Perfect for winter. 😊
If it was in the sun, the light could have helped bleach the color out more. They're still adorable!
Time to redo the gummy bears with this clay!!!!
This needs to be done again with something meant to look glassy or see through.
Jellyfish. 👍
Or any of the hundreds (thousands?) of other translucent seas life.
@@DUKE_of_RAMBLE Oooh Sea Life would be beautiful!

Genuinely it would be so cute if u did a tiny snowman or like a special shaped ice for this omggg
Japan has sooo many amazing things, that is why I love Japan!!
I love the little frowns ❤
You should make Christmas 🎄 lights in them and hang them on your tree!! That would be so pretty 😻😸😽✨
They really remind me of Shopkins for some reason
Shopkins were my favorite thing as a kid. That’s a throwback
Now this is a quality collab❤❤
That is wild! I think it makes the sushi look like it's made of glass! What is the name of this clay?
I looked it up and it's called, "Aibon Sukerukun Clear air dry clay"
@tomeeshahaller4226 Awesomeness! Thanks!
That is wild❤
The ghost of past Christmas Sushi❤😂
So beautiful!!!!!!!!❤❤❤
My favourite colour is clear.

Fimo has made this for years. I used to buy clay like this back in 2008.
Isn't Fimo the stuff that hardens in the oven? This is air-dry clay
You should make another clay art with the Japanese clay!👍
Ok but like, HOW, WHY. What made them change to be so clear, and why did it take so long?! I have SO many questions and I'm so fascinated
I rink its resin clay aka plastic polymer, similar to what ppl do fake nails with

Your hair is so pretty ❤
1:37:46 scratch that that drink water and vape air? Amazing
I need some of this, it's awesome. I just need to workout how to use it with my memorial items.
You should look into translucent polymer clay!!
I need to know where you get this because it's adorable and super cool!
Ever since shopkins has died....i've felt a hole in my heart. But i believe these could heal it.
I need this!!
I just found you again the other day after a couple years, it was so hard to find u
Next Japan trip, got to stock up on the Japanese art materials!
Japan gets all the cool shit.
A lamp version of these would be fire 🔥
You should make some little nightlights out of that clay! That would be really cute.
Oh you should TOTALLY do the shrampie sushi, but have the rice be regular clay to add realistic contrast!!!!!
What if you make a lightbulb out of the clear clay, then you ad a little piece so it hangs on your phone whenever you use the light!
That's cool 😮
Okay but why does one look like angel dust from hazbin hotel. The shrimp one 😂 I love the way they turned out though ❤
Its translucent!😮😮😮😮
The bubbles on the packaging would make me think of translucent
YOU COULD MAKE CUTE BAT NIGHTLIGHTS!
You could legit make little ice sculptures with that, you just have to wait for it to age properly
This is so cool! Do you have a link to the clay? I wanna give it a try, but i unfortunately can’t read Japanese to look it up myself 😅
(Sorry, I’m blind. Just saw the English writing when I paused again)
You should do more and leave a hole to stick a light in
That sushi 🍣 looks very concerned 😅😅😅 so cute!!!
you could probably make a cute little lamp with this
it's amazing!!!! which is the brand?
When you held up the little piece of clay I thought it was actually ice, like, you were going to compare
Man, I put that clay on my christmas list.
Ok big idea tho, if you want them to stay white and white food dye. I think I would be really interesting to see the difference between the two 🤔 🥳
I think that looks cool
omg imagine the faux ice sculptures you could make with this
I love translucent clay
IDEA: MAKE KEYCHAINS WITH A LIL LED LIGHT INSIDE
