We've come so far with light technology , back in the dark ages before LED, we used to gaffer tape torches to the front mudguard so we could get home in the dark . Impressive little gadgets . Cheers 🍻
Thank you from Newfoundland, on the Far East coast of Canada. Just installed aux lights on my Tenere, high beam activated and diode protected. You admit to not being an expert but you are spot on with the essentials. My wife also has a KTM 390 Adventure so we watch with great interest. Great job and thanks again!
I also went through several multi-LED solutions before settling on Baja Designs S1 spot -- small, almost miniature, single-LED, extremely bright. Haven't looked back since.
Just up here in north central florida. Watching you on the big screen Josh I've got accessories coming in for my 22 icon blue T7 and stainless src crash bars from watching your videos plus brk busters n bash plate levers ect. Looks great the Auxbeam and bright. As always. You are my go to channel ty again. You and Nat ride safe ..
@@mototechsam3051 keepin' it real, Aussie style haha. I guess a lot of RUclipsrs have full-time day jobs as well which makes it hard to find time to reply to lots of comments. It does take up a lot of time!
The moment you flicked those Auxbeams on, I thought “worth every nickel”. That was impressive. I thought I noticed the nuts and bolts hardware looked stainless steel, could be wrong, not cheap. Lighting on my bikes have all been upgraded, I don’t mind the extra expense for obvious safety. 👍🏼
Yeah stainless fasteners 🤙 Yeah I kinda wasn't too fussed about putting aux lights on, till we started getting caught a fair distance from home in the dark, stock headlights just don't cut it especially for my old man eyes heh. Cheers mate
Yep love them if I have to ride at night, they are set up to run at 10% during the day with the normal light, helps to make you stand out, bloody expensive though and probably not much better than the ones you got
@@pjsmotoadventures ah I thought ya might have em running low power at times I figure that's what makes em flash like strobe lights on the GoPro 😬 Yeah as good as the T7 headlight is, it really don't cut the mustard compared to a good set of aux lights. Cheers mate 👍
I probably do too much following bikes closely to get good footage, but yeah I was getting hammered with rocks from a DR650 on the weekend and they survived that hailstorm 😁💪
Personally I'm a big fan of the cyclops adventure 2inch lights. I really like how the light moves with the handle bar. Also the amber filters are simple to put on and off. Its like a rubber case and slides right on the light. The day time running light is supper bright. I will admit they are expensive but the quality is worth it. Cyclops Adventure claims 4,000 lumens.
Wow what a difference 😲 I don't like to ride at night but sometimes it just happens and having those on board would definitely make it so much easier 👍 send me your cheap old ones 😉 I'll look after them for you 🤪
@@jefftaswelder9154 I have had that problem on several bikes. If it's adjusted so low beam is usable then the high beam is way to high. Adjust so the high beam is good and low beam gets out a 15 feet. Thought it was just me.
A set of similar Denali pod lights with harness will set ya back like $800 AUD plus an extra $83 if you want the optional amber lenses 😵 I'd be a bit worried about rocks hitting those lights lol, expensive replacement!
Thanks for the video mate. Just wanted to know how close to you think the lights get on full suspension bottom out? Do you think it gets close enough to be a bit sketchy?
tight bit of kit there Josh, a HUGE improvement over just the weak ass headlight eh and good on AuxBeam for hooking you up! might I also suggest another way to mount those bad boys.... afix them your helmut, much like Mickey Mouse ears eh, they'd be up higher, and wherever you look, you'd light that area up AND it could be the start of a new trend, X^D have a beauty day brothers & sisters, ride safe & ride often eh, enjoy the gift of every day! Did you come up with a solution with the switch not being waterproof? I bought the same set of lights and was thinking about changing the switch to a waterproof on, but can`t find a desent switch. Cheers.
hello is it necessary to have so much power? often when we leave with my buddy and we extend the off-road day too long and it's dark... fatigue the lack of visibility means that you're going to fall. at night you have to sleep and get back on the bike the next day. these projectors will not change anything. I talk like an old fart... but it's vaicu. and the advantage is that you have money left in your pockets to go on a motorbike😁👍❤
That much power, not really necessary for most people I don't think. But a number of times we have not made it home before dark, and it's been good to have some decent lighting even if we're just on the road for the remainder of the trip 👍 But, you know, everyone has their own assholes and opinions 😁🤙
@@MVDBR one thing that I did not specify and which is very important. it's that on our T 700 or other motorcycles, the position of the headlights is fixed on the fairing or crash bar and when you turn on short bends you don't light up where you want to go. this type of lighting is good on the unlit road or on the straight track.
@@atprodT700 yeah that's true but since it's fixed anyway, the more light you got the better. Can also point the pod lights out to the side a little :)
