- Armored Core 6 (VI) - Handler Walter Boss Fight (Chapter 5 - Mission 40: Bring Down the Xylem) - EASY BRUTE FORCE STRATEGY. Handler Walter is the endboss for Ending 2: Liberator of Rubicon.
With this build you can simply overpower the boss. You have a lot of health from using the parts with the highest available AP (Health) and Defense Stats, and having insane damage output from dual-wielding gatling guns and 2 x Needle Guns on the back. The two Needle Guns stagger the boss super fast and the Gatling Guns deal crazy damage during the stagger phase.
It's simple:
Lock onto the boss immediately when fight starts (R3 / Right Stick). This makes it much easier to hit him.
Always stay close to the boss by flying towards him with X/A. The tank build is hard to drive on the ground, and while evading with SQUARE/X you can't shoot weapons. Flying has easier maneuverability and you can keep shooting.
Fire all 4 guns continuously at all times. Hold L2+R2 / LT+RT to fire the main guns & constantly tap L1+R1 / LB+RB to fire both shoulder weapons. Make sure you stay as close to the boss as possible for more damage output and to break his shields faster.
The shoulder weapons deal a lot of Impact Damage to break his shields and stagger him, and the Hand Weapons also deal good damage at close range. Once the enemy is staggered, unload everything on him for fast damage. He takes significantly more damage while staggered. His shields will be down for a while, stay close and keep dealing damage. You don't need to worry too much about evading, just stay close and deal damage. With this build you have enough health to withstand the damage and can win by sheer brute force without any skill.
The shoulder weapons deal a lot of Impact Damage to keep the boss staggered most of the fight, and the Dual-Wielded Gatling Guns deal insane damage at close range during the stagger phase. Try to shoot the Shoulder Guns when the boss is standing still. Then quickly stagger with Gatling Guns, keep shooting with both the Needle Guns + Gatling Guns during stagger and repeat. The Needle Guns deal a lot of damage during the stagger phase too. You don't need to worry about evading too much, just stay close and kill the enemy faster than it can kill you so it doesn't require any skill and is just a matter of brute force. It may still take a few tries, mainly if the boss evades your Needle Guns.
Staying at close range is the key here. At long range the gatling gun bullets get deflected. At close range they won't deflect so often and deal vastly more damage, especially during the stagger phase. Gatling Guns will overheat after a while but just let them cool down and hold down the trigger until they overheat again, repeat this cycle while continuously firing the shoulder weapons when the enemy is standing still or staggered. Always fly closely above the enemy, shooting from above has a higher chance that the electric discharge from Needle Gun will hit the enemy, even if it's not a direct hit. Shooting from the ground would make the Needle Shot fly past the enemy into nothingness but shooting from above creates a splash damage zone on the ground.

Made me big sad. Wasn't expecting Walter to be a bro like this. Thought he'd hate us.
I was skeptical at first, but when he started to tell me to get some rest. That’s when I started to warm up to him.
If you noticed, he started to care about us very early on. He praised us when we able to achieved something he didn’t expected and tried to protect us from being looked down by v.ii snail almost every time.
@@MojavayI'm pretty sure that's just a misinterpretation of what he said. He's glad you got out of the reactor core, but with the way the games dialogue implied, its sort of easy for a person to see that dialogue as him secretly trying to kill you.
I think Walter was at first warm to his mercenaries but I guess so many died that he became kinda jaded and decided not to be attached to someone who is going to die (plus his every mercenary probably had brain damage and they couldn't act as a real person). Then here comes 621, who survived most, fought and won any obstacle. So Walter decided that this one is a real deal and warmed up to us. He even was a proud parent when he learned our brain damaged ass made a friend.
Loosing Rusty was really the saddest part
Waltah, put your AC away Waltah. I'm not fightin you right now Waltah...
Please don't do this 621, you don't have to do this
Yeah unfortunately i do Waltuh
He said "look at you, you found a friend". The fact that he considered 621 as his friend and got betrayed makes me so sad for this ending.
I think he meant Ayre since he got pretty ... well fucked at that point and the coral was flooded in his brain, so he could hear her, he was happy for us that we found a friend like Ayre in this fucked up world. Man I am really sad we couldn't save him.
Walter planned everything from the beginning. He made sure we were safe when Arcebous captured us after the Ibis fight, knowing that he would likely die in the process. Arcebous then gave him “reeducation”, brainwashing him, mutilating his body, and fusing his mind with coral.
It seems like he thought of us as something more like a son. Since he was protective over us, and would express that he was proud of our achievements.
While his brain was fused with coral, he was able to see and hear Ayre. He was happy that we were able to grow past being a mindless dog and actually make a friend. R.I.P Walter. I’m sure he would’ve changed his mind sooner if he had known about Ayre.
@@afrokoku-jin5161plz stop tugging at my heart😭😭

When he said we did good, complete all the job and get all the money, now we could fix our brain, be normal again. I hesitate and got smash by the laser beam. I knew he was warming up to us, and genuinely care about us.
Damn Makuta from Bionicle really had a glow up
I JUST got to Walters fight and my lightweight Ac could make him heal twice but then lose to him. This build WRECKS him. Thank you for showing us this build ^^
"You earned all the credits.... Undo the surgery... be normal again..."
Walter is by far the easiest final boss, but has the greatest emotional toll
holy hell this build really does make the fight so damn easy! It literally took me only a 1min and 5 seconds to beat him. That stupid ¨snail¨ boss gave me the most trouble in this game.
waltuh
Should've stuck to cooking Meth Waltuh
Put your laser cannon away waltuh, I'm not burning the coral with you waltuh
kid named 621:
put the gattling gun away waltuh
This boss was a nice relief for a lightweight build after the insane ones before it.
The build works like a charm 💁♂️
Since you gotta cheese the hell out of the bosses in anyway you can, I did the same armor build as your recommendation, but I equipped all of my weapons to be heat seekers, so I have 28 missiles at a time fired at him. Most usually hit. Walter is easy to keep your distance with
Valeu!
Had to watch this because I accidentally killed him too fast lmao. Double Diffuse Laser Cannons fully charged with full energy specialization was too much.
I might give the brute force build a try. Been trying this with my speedy moonlight missile build but it's not working out so well
I was struggling with speed builds for a while but then I realized akimbo shotguns build stagger insanely fast
Dammit I hate winning like this but I have to Walter as been living rent free in my head and I've been screaming HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS thanks those Cannon destroyed him before he could heal
I just got done with that part and I’m confused because I thought Ayer was the ending
Time seems to be the most important factor in the later mission, not damge taken
Yo its craxy how close this reminds me of the zone of the enders 2nd runner fight i named my Mech Jehuty
I called my AC Dennis for this mission.
That build makes you beefy, but also crippled. I've been struggling a ton with tank controls on MnK, for such those builds never were something of my taste. I completed him with an energy lance and 2 needle cannons tetrapod heavy build. Just ram into him and fire guns. Very good, to say
That’s where the wheelchair treads help with speed,
@@NexusPoint-red the amount of AP tho, you could just run heavy tetrapods? they have nearly the same AP but provide hover and decent mobility
Work well
Wait. His AP refills? I never noticed that before
There's a lot of fights that have refilling AP. The first one I noticed was the dude right before Balteus. It seems like a lot of 1v1 AC fights, the other person also has repair kits.
pretty much every AC you fight has 3 heals just like the player
@@xXRunDeathXx This is why fights that make you fight 2 ACs are one hell of a job lmao
@@xXRunDeathXx If I recall, Walter is the only boss with 3 repair kits, Sulla have 1, and Nightfall have 2
i don’t know why everyone is using the gatling guns when the zimmerman shotguns are so much better at getting big damage out very fast. 2 of them combined with the stun needle trivialises every boss in this game
I mean..so do the gatling guns
I think it’s cause it’s a little less risky and it drags out the fight a little more, giving more footage for us to watch while minimizing the chances of running out of Ammo which is a minimal, but still notable concern with the Zimmers
How many times he can regenerate his healt?
3
Beat him with the classic build. Gundam colors too. Did the brute force with Fires and True boss tho.
Why did 621 never talk or say anything
The story trailer implies he was injured and now he is almost an empty husk, a living corpse attached to the AC "this one is functional but dont expect much more" thats what the medic working for walter says about 621. During this boss fight walter has additional dialog ordering 621 to finish him, get all the money for surgery and a new face and be normal again.
Another Gherman once again 😭😭
Why no music?
621 got a friend
A shame this fight sucks so hard. I love how he just cancels out of melee attacks while hes swinging. You cant do that, none of the other bosses can do that, but Walter gets to do the exact same thing people (falsely) accused Elden Ring bosses of: Animation cancelling. Goddamn these bosses havent been the best. By the end i cant even tell whats going on half the time.Chapter 4 was especially egregious. If it got to the point i actually couldnt spot the boss because it kept zipping around my camera and out of sight, i just reset.
When you lock on, don't touch the right stick at all. That way you don't loose the hard lock-on
You pretty much have to use the lock on functionality for some bosses
@@madProgenitorDeity haha, I only learned how to use it after Ibis on controller. PC players have a much easier time not using lock on, but it was hell for me. Made the game feel more intense though. Rusty's fight underground was so hectic my eyes, hands, and brain lost coordination at one point and I had to take a break. After learning how to use lock on and getting the platinum, my only complaint now is that bosses are _too easy_ . Nothing really poses a challenge for me at all. Besides Carla and Chatty.
@@alastor8091 I think which fights are a pain may be different depending on whether you have a heavy-hitter build vs. something lightweight with damage over time. I only figured out on the second baltheus fight that the orange bars indicate missile lock is ready. I wondered why my homing missiles would almost never land. oh well!
The Cel 420 fight would have been nearly impossible without lock-on when dodging the fast rainbowy special attacks. I wondered why I could never dodge it all correctly until I turned that on
I hope for more, but Snail and Walter are too weak.
For me I’m gonna use nightfall/snowball build aka mei ling zhou
This boss is a joke compared to the insanity of the other ending boss, i was so dissapointed from the gameplay prespective
Looks like i picked the other one correctly..yep, this looks easier
Storywise it's understandable. Walter is suffering from Arquebus "reeducation" mindwipe and fights on the sheer willpower and desire to burn the Coral
@@mukash1838 im pretty sure this has nothing to do with arquebus. At this point in the story arquebus is gone and the mech Walter is piloting is a secret Allmind construct so there is no way arquebus has access to such technology. And from what we saw from Snail's dialogue from you or VII if you spare him, "reeducation" seems to be just torture and not really any sort of mind control.
edit: nvm, aparently the mech can be seen in a cutscene, idk what is allmind's paper on that then
@jevmenyt3422 did you pay attention to the story? Arquebus finds a trove of old Iblis tech and immediately starts going to work on it.
@@jevmenyt3422 Then who are fighting against in the Chapter 5? PCA is gone after Chapter 3, Balam gets destroyed by MC/Rusty. Arquebus seized PCA equipment, got Ibis tech too. By the end of Chapter 4, they are dominant in Rubicon.
In the boss fight Walter says "Corporate orders...no My friends mission". The only corporate that still exists at that moment is Arquebus. I don't think torture is the type of reeducation Arquebus using, cuz at that time u have augmentation which can program a human minda like it was a computer.
Walter sounds like he's some dude who was brain-washed or something
He is, he was subjected to Arquebus’ “re-education” and forced to pilot the HAL. That’s why Snail says “One…last plan…” before dying, he was summoning Walter to deal with you and Rusty, who dies shortly after.
Bro i cheese him in 20 second😂😂😂😂
Mvp
