Pretty much decent scarring on clutch inner basket , from clutch springs, for avoiding head distortion, next time do outside to inside unbolting pattern.Great video! 😎
Funny thing is a made a mental note to unbolt in the opposite than the torquing pattern but ended up doing it in the same pattern. And I didn’t see anything wrong with the inner basket but I’ll look again.
My dude, look up the last video of chase on wheels regarding CBR600RR clutch rebuild. I recall you had the same springmarks on the 'green' CBR clutch. Could be wrong though, you might want to check it out. As always great content!
Hi, Benjamin. I would just like to thank you for putting so much effort into these videos. I usally never comment; but I wanted you to know this. Wow - it was really cool to see you open up the engine and diagnose the issue. What would wear on the engine like that? Could that happen because of the piston rings? or would something else have to go wrong?
@@Benjamminoutdoors Every time I see you completely take a bike apart I'm like, a wonder if he ever has to crack it open again? Hehehe! I actually live in this warehouse so upstairs is my living space, it’s a great workshop not the best living space though but I don’t pay too much so I can’t complain.
CBR600RR has repair sizes ring and pistons (0.25mm and 0.5mm) Cause cilynder has MMC (metal Matrix composite - Graphite+alumina+aluminium). Simply just bore 0.25mm or 0.5mm and use repair sizes - profit!
Yeah I agree, but I’m rebuilding this motor for $0 this will be my person beater and don’t want to dump $600 in the the motor rebuild like I did my other cbr and just to prove I can rebuild it for little to no money. the song is “hey sailor” from YT studios sped to 125%
Most likely debris in cylinder, damaged ring, or possibly low oil. No clue the amount of miles the bike was missing a lot of things including the instrument cluster.
I have torn down three of these motors so far and that is normal wear for all three motors they still run flawlessly with it. They Should be honed but there is no one around that does it for sportbike motors. Cylinder number three was most definitely bad but 1, 2, and 4 are fine.

Great videos Benjamin. You're living the life: fixing motorcycles & riding them, going scuba diving for treasure.
It’s hard with a full-time job but I do enjoy it, I’m just hoping I can do RUclips full-time soon so I can have more content and a bigger variety!

It could be some kind of debris, damage piston rings or possibly low oil. All the other parts look good though so I don’t think it’s low oil.
He's so calm about it though. lol! I would be punching walls. Luckily he can use the parts off the original engine.
