Wow...... My great aunts moved down here from NY in the early 70's and lived in King's Point. My father's mother lived in Villages of Oriole. I remember hearing about the New Year's parties, my Nana always gave us the blowers and hats she got.

I lived in the Vistas for a while and this is very accurate. Every day there were ambulances. The neighbors were acquaintances but not “friends.”

I’m keeping a positive outlook on what to expect when I get there as I’m purchasing a condo. I am pretty sure that back in the day many people felt a little bit of what this woman states in the five minute segment. I’m sure like everything else. It is what you make of it and getting down there earlier in life to enjoy all the good things you will make acquaintances plus you will also have your own hobbies and activities that you enjoy and sharing some good times in the evening or on a rainy day with friends of any age would be very nice. I would still like to see the full documentary, but I cannot find a link to it anywhere anyone knows if there is still a link through HBO documentaries or anywhere else please let me know. Thanks everyone and peace to you all.

I live 20 minutes north of this place and West Palm Beach Florida there are thousands of these type of communities this is the God's honest truth of what happens to these old people and it's sad sad sad he's seeing all of them at the mall just staring into the abyss.

Not impressed by the film/short at all. Lacked context, connections, development. Slice-of-life....sure! But who were they really? Was expecting a little bit more. Besides, I wonder if they were severely handicapped by choosing the Palm Beach location versus the much larger, much more diverse, much healthier King's Point at Sun City Center location near Tampa. Maybe that's a film I'll make.

@WeatherWarrior. Before Covid-19 hit, the short times I enjoyed visiting there I loved talking with the elderly, it was such a joy.
