He's got a totally different tone of voice in this one. He's much more confident throughout. It's like after the events of "Number 7" and "The Episode With No Name", he's regained his sense of purpose.
Your comment was 8 years ago, yet I'm glad you pointed this out. As much as I've noticed this little shift in tone of his voice, it was more interesting when put in this context. It's truly amazing how layered and detailed this show was in accordance to the high level of writing.
I love how in the first intro with Matrix he sounds disappointed and lost in having no format, but here he’s much more confident and cool about it like it imbued him some kind of strength. It’s just another great touch on showing how much he’s grown as a character from the beginning of the show to now.
This show proved to me that western writers and producers could create an actual captivating, episodic, with over arching plot, story. Reboot was seriously psychedelic watching as a kid, I felt like the net was some kind of actual spiritual dimension or something. Specially when they brought back Bob.
Its pretty cool how between this opening, and the last one where Matrix talks, when he says "my format? I have no format." Same line, just at first he's bummed about it. Then he's all like "fuck yeah I have no format."
I look at this. Then I look at what we're raising our kids on now. Everyone, go and buy as many episodes of this as you can. Every Saturday morning, wake up your kids and have them watch this, starting straight from the beginning. Make them believe it's the 90's.
Grew up in the 90s. Newsflash; it wasn't any better. Different for sure, but no better, just equally crappy in different ways. EDIT: That said ReBoot is a bloody treasure and I will always hold it, Gargoyles, Goldeneye and Doom close to my heart.
@@CoralCopperHead I forgot I made this, but it still stands, I just have a different perspective on WHY it still stands: The industry today is a lot more hostile and restrictive than it used to be, in several ways. Shows back then, you could get multiple seasons, less censorship on what you could show, tasteful and nuanced story-telling and messages, and a focus on producing a product for the KIDS’ entertainment. Now, nearly the opposite is what goes on for shows produced today: short and limited seasons (if they even GET another season), heavy interference and censorship on what can be shown, janky one-sided story-telling with a hamfisted message instead of trying to blend it into the story, and a priority on the creators trying to tell their own story without caring if the child audience is entertained. I say this because shows today suffer from MORE issues than shows back then did, and those issues need to be called out so creative minds have more freedom over their product.
Such a shame The Guardian Code pretty much destroys our hope of seeing how the final lost 4 episodes would finish off the original show. This new ReBoot coming out wants to have liveaction but that was never in the original cartoon
Mr Chill Still live action doesn't sound right to me. It sounds like the direction those bad live action 90's video game films went. They practically ignore the source material so much that it alienates a lot of people.
We shall see. Shows have much higher production values and strategies than the 90's. I feel ya though, but DarkForces 2 was pretty good live action cut scenes :0 *****
0:59 A shame they dropped the voice shouting out the show's title. I always thought that bit was epic. "I am a renegade, lost in the web." ... "REBOOT!"
Daniel Williamson if you think about really, it would make absolutely zero sense for him to say Reboot when he’s in the web, considering there’s no game cube in there...and nobody Reboots in the web anyway
Hopefully one day, we'll get to see what happens in some form. That'd be brilliant. And I don't mean someone else's version, I mean the original ending written by Gavin and Ian. Hopefully if we can get the rights back, we can get that story told eventually.
This is one of my favourite openings. I remember as a kid Bob in this opening and screaming like the fangirls I was...and am, after waiting for him a lot of episodes (yeees, Bob is my favourite). The only thing I don't like a lot is Bob's expression. He's all like "WTF?". I know that moment comes from Number 7, but.... Also, I hate how UUUUUGLY he turns in season 4. Is like someone failed horribly operating his face with a spoon, and then put some wax to make it shiny....
Season 3 I enjoyed him, he became the new main character replacing Bob. Season 4 however? It felt like they focused way too much on his anger and temper.
Man, if only more of those annoying kid sidekicks would grow up to be the fucking Renegade. I mean, that other series, you know, The Renegade. ...come to think about it wasn't the first Robin (Nightwing) going under the alias Renegade for some time as well ?
Because Turbo (leader of the Guardians) told Matrix (adult Enzo) that Game Hopping and traveling different locations by Game Cubes are too dangerous. Causing to age fast, corruption or worse.
Matrix I Come From The Net I Search Thru Systems Peoples And Cities For This Sprite Bob My Friend My Format? I Have No Format I Am A Renegade Lost In The Web
I do not understand why Enzo (when he is an adult) wants to be called Matrix, I understand he made a mistake but everyone makes mistakes, nobody is perfect besides we learn from our mistakes and it takes a very mature person to admit our mistakes besides Andria loves him and always has ever since she first saw him, anyway if you insist on people calling you by your last name it gets very confusing.
Stong Free Well that is true, you are right about that, I was just saying it would get very confusing, people love you even if you do make mistakes, nobody is perfect and we learn from them and it takes a very mature person to admit they have made a mistake.
Eleanor Hogan I definitely agree with you that people will love you throughout your mistakes. Enzo didn't see it that way. He was in a battle with himself, feeling that he had failed those he cared about. He was trying to block his memories of that failure, including 'redefining' himself by going by another name. The only person that got away with calling him Enzo was AndrAIa, as she had known him since the beginning. Methinks that she was the main reason he remained grounded throughout his search for Bob & Mainframe. Perhaps I'm delving too much into it, but ReBoot remains one of my favourite shows because of its depth, and not just because I'm a nerd :)
I love how Enzo went from being the obligatory cute kid character to being a total badass.
Enzo Matrix - best character development ever.
He became a Mad Max like warrior.
Agreed.
*in this era, Enzo Matrix is a GOD*
That is facts.

Omg yes!!!

My favourite of all the intros. Matrix is one of the coolest, most badass, and dark heroes I've seen in a kids show
this is the character development gohan needed. not that bullshit hes dealing with in super
I look at this. Then I look at what we're raising our kids on now.

Easier said than done my friend.
It's even worse since you made this post
Buy them for the sake of preservation, but admit we can never go back, only learn from the past to create new media like it

Great cartoon. I cannot believe this year is ReBoot's 25th anniversary. I was 10 when it first aired.
Still badass especially knowing how he had to grow to be that way
I bet matrix real format was "Exe"
(Pc nerd joke aside, he's a badass !)
Enzo is dead. Call me - Matrix.
"my format? I have no format. I am a renegade, lost in the web"
As a kid, I thought that was GANSTA!!!
i thought this show was a fever dream i had when i was 7
Man I wish this show didn't end on a cliff hanger
I'm started to like enzo matrix he's super badass🤩
My Format...I have no format...I am a renegade...lost in the web.
I don't watch cartoons as a Grown azz Woman. But would totally watch this if brought back to TV!
This is when I knew I was gay , I wanted to be AndrAla e date Enzo Matrix 😂😂😂
My format? I have no format. I am a renegade... Lost in the web. *CUE FUCKING STORM GOD SOUND EFFECTS*

wow...
i just saw the interview, as long as they got the original cast i can settle for that man!

Never found out how the series ended

@Ebonydoe That was only used in the end credits of the fourth episode of season 4.
Hopefully one day, we'll get to see what happens in some form. That'd be brilliant. And I don't mean someone else's version, I mean the original ending written by Gavin and Ian. Hopefully if we can get the rights back, we can get that story told eventually.
They say they're making a new series for 2018
@@acua3 I have come from the future to inform you that the new series is shit.
YAY!*totally doesn't still mock Matrix to this day for telling AndrAIa's unconscious form he'll bring her trident right back*
True story. I loved all my 90's cartoons. Only good cartoon this generation is Regular Show haha. Love that one.
2020
Yes you may.
Andrea and mouse 😍

@AnnetteMatos you can on teletoon retro :P
"I'm tired of waiting for things to happen, and I'm tired of these stupid games!"
Beetroot!
season 3 is the best
Totally forgot about the "surfer" lol
Does anyone have Hex's intro? The one where she goes on about infecting the net?
This is one of my favourite openings. I remember as a kid Bob in this opening and screaming like the fangirls I was...and am, after waiting for him a lot of episodes (yeees, Bob is my favourite).

megabyte had the best opening
Zilkenian well, he *was* in the web for a while; so of course he wouldn’t look as good because the web degrades sprites
Fuckin badass
But can I watch with them and pretend too?
Will you be uploading ReBoot Season 3 Intro 6 and the Daemon Rising Intro?!?
you know Bob had one more intro. it was pretty hard... not as hard as Enzo but hard for Bob. do u have that one?
Season 3 I enjoyed him, he became the new main character replacing Bob.
Season 4 however? It felt like they focused way too much on his anger and temper.

He doesn't say "reboot" at the end. No more fun and "games"
This is serious shit!

He was trying his best to ditch everything from his childhood, seeing his younger self as weak. So he even ditched his 'kid' name.

Eleanor Hogan What mistake did Enzo exactly make that convinced him to change his name (cause I haven't seen the series in so long)?
Eamon O'Toole I am afraid I do not remember either, sorry, I think he let a baddie go when they begged for mercy, I am not sure though, sorry.
