I really don't know why she has spent much of the last ten years, lipping almost all of her concert shows. It completely went against her ethos of ''looking really fake, but being completely real''. Her concerts are not cheap, it was deeply unfair to her fans
@@popland1977 look at her tour schedule, pretty hard on a younger persons vocal cords. It’s easy to forget Dolly’s age she appears so much younger than her years, just in the pace of her life.
@@popland1977 Frankly, it’s just not workable for a woman in her late 60s and early 70s to sing for 2 hours 4 times a week. And unfortunately with that schedule they put her on, her voice could not keep up at all. There was a period in 2004 where she was doing a lot of live singing before she added any pre-recorded tracks in, and her voice really was starting to show the signs of struggle with age- by the end of the show she’d be exhausted vocally and physically. So the physicality and the vocals got cut down until by 2008 it was mostly all pre recorded. She can still sing live, this, the 2019 performance of Dumb Blonde in the original key, as well as the incredible vocal on I Will Always Love You she provided at the tribute to Kenny Rogers before he died prove it. It’s not a case of a lost or damaged voice, her voice just physically cannot keep up with the schedule anymore
Not that this amazing lady needs to prove anything but, to sing a song a cappella that isn’t her own, and sing it as well or better than the original version, is beyond amazing.. absolutely love this lady, her voice, what she stands for, and so humble!💕💕💕
