I love it here but it is so damn cold for 8 months out of the year. If you live here, hopefully you make enough money to travel to warmer climates a few times during the winter. I wish we saw more heat & daylight here but the job market is great and the people are awesome. I'll probably be a lifer.
I noticed that Bismarck streets seem *meticulously* clean, and they appear less crowded and not so plagued with aggressive drivers. There is plenty of work there, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to keep a roof over one's head. The locals there seemed to be, for the most part, level-headed, down to earth, unassuming. It needs to be said, however, that the winters there are *brutal!*
I live in Bismarck and it is great but if you hate the outside then u will be bored. There is great fishing and hunting here. But like I said it u hate the out doors u will be bored.
I am considering taking a job in ranching there. I work ranching now in elko County nevada which is quite desolate. The nearest cities other than the town of elko are over 150 miles in every direction. Salt Lake, reno and Boise.
Definitely consider taking the job up here! The Bismarck Metro is over 100,000 population which houses shopping, dining out and entertainment venues. Fargo would be the next largest city in North Dakota, which is on the east side of the state, and is 190 miles away. Where is the ranch located at in North Dakota?
Living in Bismarck or any town just on the outside of Bismarck/Mandan would work to live. For the most part, traffic isn’t terrible and commute times are short. If you do decide to take the job, please consider reaching out to me to help you find a home to buy.
I agree with you on all points. Lived in south Bismarck, along Washington for 6 years. Best biking trails ever. City parks where a magnet every weekend. Loved the people. Bismarck has only changed for the better each time we come back to visit family.
It’s a great place to move to! I moved to Bismarck from Sioux Falls, SD and it was a decision I will never regret. Feel free to reach out if you want more information about Bismarck! (701)516-2303
Where can we advertise our job openings in the test centers...were looking for test administrators but the candidate pool is really low....any tips? We have job advert posted on top Job Boards but still no one is applying :(
What would you consider a drug problem? The Bismarck Metro is over 100,000 in population. With that amount of population, there will always be some presence of individuals on drugs. Luckily, there are several resources for individuals who are trying to get clean to gain the support system needed to get sober.
Bismarck needs a good dance nightclub , Cowboy Action Shooting events, Indian powwows, and Medieval Faire events, maybe even a dog show. How about some civil defense fallout shelters and National Guard talk to the citizens about where Bismarck, Mandan people should try to get to if Putin launches nukes and we have 20 or 30 minutes to do something.
I'm from North Dakota and I've lived in Bismarck in the 90's for a few years. It's a nice city, but it has one big glaring drawback. The winters are unbearably cold, minus 20 for days at a time. Below zero for even longer than that. Nope, couldn't take it any more and had to leave.
Hey I grew up in North Dakota a long time ago. Back then, that was home. that's the way it was. We played outside, dressed for the weather. It's part of life. I have now lived in Kansas City for over 35 years. Gets a little chilly every so offen. But it's the heat and humidity that kills me now. I need to find a place that stays between 35 and 75degrees.
Interesting I just googled crime stats for Bismarck North Dakota one of the worst places to live and no single mention about restaurants Night live no fun activities nothing absolutely.

I think job boards will be the best place to advertise. Most businesses are struggling to find good help around town.

Every place in America has a drug problem.
