This is my first Nylint toy restoration video. Nylint made some ultra realistic toys back in the day though, so I doubt it will be my last! This restoration was pretty straight forward, however I ran in to a few complications trying to find replacement parts. Thankfully the fine folks of Ebay can find just about anything! The only thing I was unable to find was the missing hood ornament, but with a little ingenuity and a make-shift lathe, I was able to fabricate a fairly close replacement.
Check out the awesome powder coating colors I use:

My dad had this exact car as a kid. I found one and sent it to him for his birthday. He cried. It’s more than a toy or a hunk of metal. It’s a memory. Thank you for restoring memories.
You could not have said it better.
One of my childhood toys I still have. Thank you for not forgetting hood ornament .
Nylint and Doepke made great stuff. The first series Nylint Michigan crane and the Charles Doepke Unit cranes were great.
Beautiful restoration
Nice job, I like the way you manufactured a thermostat for the radiator. Mine also had a black roof. It snaps into that flat piece on top of the windshield and tucks behind the seat. When mine was new, the back bumper was perfectly straight all the way across, and had a textured mylar sticker on the front of the black radiator.
very good job for your first one
Great Job @TRG RESTORATION
BEAUTIFUL ROADSTER!!! brand new again. Nice job!!
My niece was calling it Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. 😉Nice job.
Super nice.
You took that jalopy and turned it into a sweet ride!
I like how he skips paint stripping and goes straight to sandblasting. A very bold move!
Seems a bit repetitive.
Unless the paint tests positive for lead, it is redundant to strip the paint chemically just to sandblast it next. Even with lead based paint, the dust is really only toxic if eaten, so it seems like it should be fairly safe to sandblast any paint off, as long as your lunch isn't nearby.
That chrome stuff is just cool! Looks just like when it rolled off the assembly line!!!
Nice resto. Would love to see one done with a Candy Apple Red body and Black interior.
I have this color a red one a blue one and a green one M.I.B. Nylint manufactured them from 1964 until 1978. They also made a jallopy model in the same colors. Niice Job.
Men in black ? 🤔😎
I had one of those roadsters when I was a kid!Nice restoration!
Круто! 👍👍👍🚗 Вы классно обновили машинку.
What a beautiful car, and job.
I still have mine. One of the few toys I hardly played with as a kid so it's still in great condition. It also comes with a removable plastic black roof that snaps on the top. Back then I use to make my own Marvel superheroes out of plastic soldiers, Indians and cowboys and other plastic army men. I would paint them to resemble Spiderman, Captain America Iron Man, and I would always use the hood ornament to represent Ant Man. Good thing for me is I always put it back on the car, so I still have it intact.
Beautiful rebuild! Those paint powders intrigue me. They seem to work on just about every surface. Just a note: the "hood ornament" is actually the radiator cap.
"Look around you… can you fashion some sort of rudimentary lathe?" :D
Yes! Galaxy Quest!
Great job, on the road again, have a nice day !!!.
Looks great! Good job on the hood ornament. :)
The kids cheering because it's sandblasting time cracks me up every time.
The man definitely knows his audience (I love it).
Mark Richards I was thinking that very thing!!!
ME TOO!! I LOVE IT!! LOL!
If you knew I cheer with them everytime... 😊🤗🥳🎉🎊
Those kids must of never sand blasted, or they would cry
I'm surprised you haven't seconded the dishwasher for more stuff before now - it saves a lot of hand washing !
Very nice work!!! I always give the steering wheel a few turns for good luck haha!!
What a beautiful car!!!
Great job, looking like NEW again !!
By the way, the jack hammer sounds and the kids cheering before you sandblast is fantastic !!
My mentor and virtual teacher! I hope to evolve at your level one day! As usual a great job, 1000 times congrats!
You ars on a roll! Great work!
That's a lovely thing!
loved it
nice content
That car look like brum from old tv show little car driving around London
damn i loved that show
My son's 22, and he used to watch this in early 2000's.I liked it too! He's got the car from this programme, now I've got it! The grill is missing. Shame.
The series was mostly filmed in Birmingham.
Looks Great!!!
Nice job. I'd love to own one.
Looks great, as always.
Super like 😀👍
I love nylint trucks my my first real outside toy was a 1970s uhaul 70s chevy truck one that I found at the goodwill when I was 5. I still own it another to this day lol even tho I'm 15 now
Great job but personally I could never wipe away the history of the car, that’s where the real beauty is.
Nice one, mate. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Very nice! Did this not originally have a plastic windshield as well? Beautiful job.
Nice
just finished this one instead of repainting yellow painted it dark green with blk fenders used dremal flapwheels to clean it up
Reminds me of the little car called BRUM kids cartoon
Amazing 👍
Ficou muito lindo! Parabéns. Adoro ver seu trabalho.
Improvise, Adapt, Adjust & Overcome = A beautiful result and yet 15 oxygen thieves gave it a thumbs down????
Those are the unsatisfied wives of the men who indulge in hobbies like this. The men discovered long ago that there is no pleasing their women, so they are just doing this hobby anyway. boohoo! LOL
@@johnarmenta2199 I was about to comment about "premature" issues, but I think your comment is wiser than the mine 😁😈👍
Lol what makes someone an oxygen thief for giving a thumb down? There are rapists, murderers and child molesters out there and you're worried about people giving a thumbs down on a RUclips video? Maybe get a fvcking grip!
@@colinjohnston8519 who said I was worried about them? And why are you bringing up rapists, murderers and child molesters? The people who gave it a thumbs down are either other restoration channels who are petty and jealous, or they're the type who love to tell you what you did wrong but couldn't do it themselves if they tried. Either way, that classifies them as oxygen thieves. If you're that wrapped around the axle about it, are you one of the ones who hit the thumbs down button? And for Christ's sake, if you're going to curse, stop trying to be cute by substituting the "u" for a "v" and just go for the fucking gold. Either way, it was and is my opinion, and if you don't like it, fuck off.
Perfeito...Parabéns....
Sweet.... That sums it up.. Peace
YAY! Sandblasting
Wow!
Great job like always
How much does a sandblaster go for like yours
You should talk to my mechanics on where he got his lathe. That guy is unbelievable he doesn't buy new parts he builds replacement parts on his lathe. Even screws.
As much as I liked my Nylint's back when. I always felt they were a cheap knock-off to Tonka. Nice job, TIG.
precioso
your little anvil is so cute! I just wonder what do you do with the restored things?? Are you a collector or just sell it back in ebay? Nice video, by the way.
오마이갓...............환타스틱
손재주가 예술입니다.◎o◎)
You should make a bonnie and clyde car with bullet holes
Сиденье что сделал. Другой положил.
How do remeber were everything goes back together
Top 🇧🇷
Making a new hood ornament will be a bit of a challenge..
Muito bom.
Can you not do something about the rattling sound. Sheet foam pieces or expandable foam insulation? Felt?
It doesn't have head light ?
At least you have a decent casting to work with...
Where did you get replacement parts? Thanks
Ebay mostly, and also from www.gasolinealleytoys.com
GOOD JOB MASTER BUT WHERE ITS LIGHTS? THE CAR MUST HAVE LIGHTS! THANKS FOR VIDEO! ❤👏👍
How long does it take to cook, powder coats?
Usually around 10 minutes
The Nylint Little Deuce Coupe..
They do come with a front bumper.
" Good nite John Boy "
I’ve got this car in my basement my dad painted it black and as a child I made a black construction paper top for it. 😬😬😬
Прямо как у Люпина 3
Favourite parts this time - kids cheering because it's SANDBLASTING time is brilliant. UV light and hydrogen peroxide to whiten the 'white walls' of the tyres. Letting us know that, so long as they don't bump, we can bake our powder coated items together even if different colours (I did NOT know that before)....but ESPECIALLY, your long suffering wife! LOL! I get it because my husband has washed parts of his CAR and many tools in ours!! (NOT with the crockery though!)......I wasn't happy......but he's done it a LOT. I've also pointed out that - since the old one went to the great scrapheap in the sky - the new dishwasher will not be so abused! So now he's taken to stealing all my cookery stuff for various fiddly 'projects' he's doing. (ლ‸-) I even lost my BEST mixing bowl to an oil change most recently. LOL! (I wasn't LOLing when it happened though)....... ;)
"Make a new one" had to check what channel I am on
Amazing restoration, nice job
It had a MOTOMETER not a hood ornament
Did this model never come with a front bumper or headlights? Just curious. You might never bother reading this... 😅
Uaauuu ❤
All I see is a black screen. I only see the video if I fast forward.
BRUM
👍🏽🐒🇺🇸
I like your toys. Can I come over and play with them?
Ví🌟🌟👍🌟🌟
Beautiful restoration.
I just now noticed one of my favorite toys from my childhood was made by Nylint. I have a NYLINT #8141 BASS CHASER II BASS PRO SHOP BRONCO & BOAT-BASS TRACKER from the 80's. It's in almost perfect condition. I loved that thing as a kid.
It's this exact model.

I can't believe you actually found parts. I thought for sure you just had that part 3d printed.
do you guys remember that super old kids cartoon named 'brum'? cause that looks like the car from it
Reminds me of Jon Pertwee's car in Doctor WHO from his time as the Doctor back in the early 70s.
Bessie! That's what he called it I think
@@colinmoore7460 He did indeed!:)
May i do a suggestion: getting a 3d printer, since if new parts aren't anymore, you can simply 3d print these then sand and then paint these to get them to a similar state as new old stock parts.
"Simply" 3D print. These words don't really go together. But I agree that 3D printing has the potential to help revitalize a lot of incomplete projects like this.
The trouble is not everyone has the cash for a 3D printer - I know we don't and TRG is being INGENIOUS. I personally think the hood ornament is BRILLIANT and well done......just as good as with a lathe, let alone some pricey 3D printer. I know not all 3D printers are expensive, but I've seen the cheap ones at work and the outcomes are shoddy to say the least. I would rather see TRG do things like this HIS way and have a success than pay out for cheap stuff that's not as good.
I would also like to add that this project is NOT 'incomplete'. The car looks as good as original. It has all the seating, including the rumble seat and the hood ornament is replaced. I, personally, like to see people like TRG, without all the sponsorships and expensive kits others have, who use the skills and equipment they do have at their disposal, along with their own creativity and ingenuity, to complete projects. ANYONE can do something if they have a 'money no object' state of the art set up. But when someone is working with much more basic equipment and their own skills and still have a fantastic outcome like this one was, then THAT is IMPRESSIVE. A long suffering partner is also handy!
Amen ! You sir nailed it!
El Niling Roagte de 1960. Es una camioneta de 60 años que sería muy útil y bonita en su hepoca. Aho con una buena pintada quedará estupenda.
What an amazing restoration, wish i had that kind of talent, you can check out some vintage toy trucks on my channel if you like thanks.
I have one of these. Its still in pretty good condition. Plus I have mine pulling a Uhaul Trailer.
Thanks for watching!
very nice result 😎👍
BRUM!
SOO KOOOOOLLLL.
Can you do a video of all the trucks that you restored in a row from end to end ? That would be awesome . Including cars and airplanes.
Awesome work.
Mike Espo .
Yo that's Brum
Better than new
