Congratulations! I served at RAF Lakenheath 67-71 and had a go glidering and loved it. The view today was awesome! Thank you for your effort and sharing with us.
I was not a pilot; however the aircraft at the time were F100 d’s. My stay during the three years left me with wonderful memories of East Anglia and Cambridge. I hope you continue with being a pilot and needless to say I envy you. All the best and keep the videos coming.
Congrats Chris. Probably a good idea that your instructor sprung it on you at the last minute which doesn't give you much time to over think it and maybe stress over it. I will be watching your progress, all the best.
You seemed very calm, confident, attentive, and landed right on center - VERY well done, man! You'll never forget that flight, and it's one you should be quite proud of.
Congratulations. Same type of plane I soloed in. Have flown many aircraft since but my favorite plane is the PA28. Keep moving forward in your training, skills & ratings. Fly safe
Thank you, and yes RAF Kemble used to be home to the Red Arrows until they moved. I also believe that for a while it was where they tested Concorde. Its a great place to visit and to fly :-)
Thank you Miguel, nice to hear from you. I hope you are doing ok also? I have completed more solo time since. In fact I'm uploading the video today so please keep checking out my channel!
Well done Chris, I remember when my instructor set me up for solo at Jerez, he spoke to ATC in Spanish while doing circuits but I caught the word ‘solo’ so I knew what was coming, never forget it
Still got a way to go, just started solo navigation, I did a short hop on my own of around 90 miles, but it’s been far too hot at the moment I found I can’t concentrate when I’m absolutely melting. Next step is the long solo which is Jerez to Córdoba then take off to Seville land and then back to Jerez which is approx 200 miles
Sounds as though you're nearly there then, PPL finished soon. Amazing that you're doing it in Spain, I'm sure it's hot but you must have very good consistent weather 👍
Yes you can fly nearly every day, some days are difficult for navigation due to haze, I did a low pass over Ronda that was awesome, pictures on my Facebook page: Steve Jarvis
Gawrn CJ awesome landing - deserved the applause. 👌
I'll have to use an "audience applause" sound over the top of a future video haha!

Thank you Robert, I bet you have some really incredible stories to tell from your time at Lakenheath. Did you fly for the RAF?

Congrats on that first solo! I definitely had that same WTF moment on my first solo! Clear skies!!
Thank you John
Well done. That airfield has a long and interesting history.

Thanks Steve, I think the first solo stays with you forever. One of my goals is to fly in Spain. Did you complete all of your training there?

Nice work. Hope you've been able to qualify before 2020 and all that's associated with last year.

Onward and upward CJ!
Great work. Congrats - I hope to join you in completing a solo this summer
Thank you. I'm sure you will. How many hours have you completed so far? :-)
@@CJThePilot only about 10 so far, but I have got 2 lessons next week!
Excellent, let me know how you get on :-)
@@CJThePilot will do. How many hours did/ do you have when you soloed?
My first solo (this video) was at 13 hours :-)
How can you fly so coordinated??
When I fly the Ask13 the airplane just slips through the air!
😂
With lots and lots of hard work! The next video I upload should be a full PPL lesson in an unfamiliar aircraft, so you'll get to see me struggle!
