We homeschool too and love it. My son who is 12 and is on the autism spectrum had a really hard time in the public school. He is thriving now. We’ve been homeschooling for 3 1/2 yrs. At first it had to do with his learning but now it’s so much more that what we wanted to protect him from. He does a typical curriculum “Time 4Learning” but I also tailor it to things I want him to learn. Yes it would be easier to send him to school but I don’t trust what they are teaching. I’m in NC the only requirement here is end of yr testing has to be every year, we can use any curriculum which we use an online resource.
I enjoyed your video and I’m a homeschool mom. I agree so much with what you and your husband were talking about. I’m a new subscriber and your sister in the Lord. Look forward to watching anything and all things homeschooling and motherhood. God bless you and your family! 💕🙌🏼🙏🏼
I really enjoy your video. I am all for homeschooling all for the reasons you have said. I home school my great-Grand children. The oldest likes to do school in the afternoon and the youngest likes to do school in the mid-morning. The advantage of home schooling is you that you can advance in grades. They can go on to the next grade without being held back
Thank you both for a most brilliant video. The amount I am learning. Sara you and your husband radiate warmth and sincerity. I'd love to hear about right and left brain hemisphere injury when time allows for it. And given Naomi and you both are comfortable, I would also love to see Naomi do a cooking video. I absolutely love cooking for my husband and am always keen to try new recipes. With care and respect, Justin and Sarah
Regarding Right Hemisphere Brain Damage, this was a helpful introduction. Many don’t understand why Josiah, who suffered a stroke in utero and lacks function in his right hemisphere of the brain, doesn’t understand figures of speech, why he can’t see you if you are on his left side, etc. Josiah is much more than his diagnosis, but knowing what’s going on neurologically really helps people interact with him and understand him better. www.asha.org/public/speech/disorders/right-hemisphere-brain-damage/#:~:text=In%20most%20people%2C%20language%20skills,%2C%20reasoning%2C%20and%20problem%20solving
@@HerdingLittleCows Absolutely. I couldn't agree more that in better understanding a person, knowing what's going on neurologically helps tremendously. The engagement and care you both have towards Josiah and all your children is very admirable. On the topic of neurological conditions, do you mind our asking in how your husband's health currently is? I recall one of your videos stating your husband has a neurological condition. My apologies, I don't recall his diagnosis. Very interesting link. Thank you kindly for sharing.
@sarahnatalia7514 Marks working diagnosis is Dystonia, which his brother also has. We have a playlist on his condition, and his condition remains challenging on the day to day. In last night’s video you notice he dropped off the frame after a while, that is due to a spell which includes intermittent trouble speaking, understanding, and body tics. This video explains a lot more for those interested in the condition and how it affects our lives. ruclips.net/video/jwDMPHmFlqE/видео.htmlsi=jMFI7sLCdvURijIg
@@HerdingLittleCows Dear Sara and Marc, thanks for your response. I responded on another post of yours but I think there was loading issues. So I'll respond here. Have you guys had a looked into blood type foods. Also for my autoimmune condition, the following have helped me tremendously and have got me off medications. I've also known many others benefiting too. • Cold pressed flax seed oil. Don't heat. Delicious on salads. • Dark leafy greens. Kale's my go to. • Freshly grinded chia seeds. Delicious as a pudding • Vit D Shout out if in need of any recipes. Hope this helps. The very best to you all.
I plan to homeschool my daughter too for school. There are so many opportunities for homeschool now. What age do you start bookwork with your kids, if it was something to use a workbook for?
Thank you for this video! I enjoy your content. By the way, do you ever buy organic food? I know you try to be on a budget and would love to hear about if you do or don’t incorporate organic foods
That’s good! I know the organic food is much more expensive. But I’m afraid of the pesticides and chemicals they put into everything. I really enjoy your videos and I’m learning so much from you and your beautiful family
We don’t need an exemption in the state of Maine. We inform the state of our intent to educate our children at home and the superintendent documents our fulfillment of the relevant laws here.

I’m so glad that you were able to bring him home. Glad you found a way that works for your family while letting him safe.
I would love a video on educational RUclips channels that your family enjoys watching. I definitely need to check out the one mentioned in this video!
We would love to do a video about that at some point. Great idea.

Thanks for following along. Content right now will probably focus in baby but we will get back to our standard mix of topics in the next few weeks

What a great blessing to be able to be with your great grand children!
Have you thought about a tripod, so you don't have to hold the camera?
I like how you summarized at the end, "life revolves around learning."
We have a tripod but sometimes it’s not convenient. We will be making a few changes to our recording soon that should help.

What age do you start bookwork with your kids, if it was something to use a workbook for?
When they are ready. I will try to do a video but really it could be 3 or 6 (my state law). But that could be workbooks or not depending on child

We don’t tend to buy organic food these days, but do grow a small garden and visit farmer’s markets in the warmer months.

How do you prepare your children to earn a living?
It depends on the child. Their goals and interests, aptitude and other considerations.
So you don't .? @@HerdingLittleCows
I agree these children are not getting a proper education for later in life
Do you get a religious exemption for homeschool?
