Hi there, I really enjoyed your grandmother's video about Tupua Tamasese. I am doing some research about the Mau of Samoa for one of my papers and I assure you that I have quoted some of your grandmother's saying about some of the things that had happened that day and referenced your video to acknowledge your grandmother. Hope she is still living a wonderful life and may the Lord bless her. Thank you again for sharing this video. God bless
Thank you to your grandmother's wonderful story of some of the dreadful events that took place back in 1929. A story that will be kept in our hearts. It is a blessing to hear our elders like grandmother of what the past have been. I noticed towards the end of her story, she mentioned my family in Vaimoso - a lady name Fa'ai'u of the Sa Makai'a (Matai'a) family. We realised how bad the NZ colonialist have treated Samoa worse off then it's predecessor German. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing, despite the fact that she's 92 years old at the time of recording, her mind was still alert and remembered so well what had happened in those days. Thank you. She was awesome, bless her heart.
Talofae i si ou Aunty o Imoa. I still remember her telling us these stories when she and Talapusi lived in Apia Park. I also remember Aunty Faautu as well when I lived in Vaiala. They are my relatives through my grandfather Tofaeono Asi Leavasa. It was my Great Grandfather Tupua Tamasese Lealofi III who was shot in the Mau and not Meaole. Alofa tele atu i si loomatua. Pule alofa Le Atua ia saga faaopopo pea tausaga i lona soifua.
Kalofa e, faiaku o le sharp o laga memory. As if it was just yesterday that all of that happened. :) You are blessed to have had these moments with her. These are the moments I wish I shared with my grandparents. Keep it coming. Does she have any stories of Vaiala when she was a girl?
Beautiful ! however I have one (maybe 2) matters to address. 1) The title of this video states 'Tupua Tamasese Meaole III. This video is in regards of Tupua Tamasese Lealofi III and there has not been Tupua Tamasese Meaole III. 2) in the description you state 'Lealofi II' however it was Lealofi III. Beautiful video.
Very interesting account of Administrator Stephen Allen's hardline administration of Samoa whom was a World War One Veteran within the New Zealand Territorial force, and more importantly he was a son of an Englishman migrant to New Zealand. He had a draconian disregard of the Samoans and their welfare. Unfortunately, at the same period, my great grandfather le Afioga Tuiletufuga Liu, from Apia village, was recruited as one of the highest ranking Samoan police officers, the Warden of the prisons, obviously, with very nominal powers, under the draconian militancy of the New Zealand police force during the same period.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HOW SHARP HER MIND/ MEMORY IS, SHE RECALLS IT LIKE IT HAPPENED YESTERDAY!! SCIENTIST SHOULD LOOK INTO HER DIET OR DNA TO FIND A CURE FOR ALZHEIMER!..LOL..THANKS FOR SHARING!!

Thank you for recording this. Invaluable living history now recorded for future generations to know the struggle for independence.
