One of the better videos on this! Those boring wires you didn’t want to bore us with are the most important parts of the installation. He still did a real good job of going back and letting you know the colors and where and what they hook to! Thanks cool video! 👍🏻
I’m in the process of doing a ss dash swap with Dakota digital RTX in my 71 Chevelle sweep style original dash & this video seems to have all the information I need 💯💪🏽 thanks Goosse you’re the man !!
I am installing the exact VHX setup in my 70 Chevelle. Love the video. Question tho....... on the original harness there is a gray & black wire going to a bulb that starts a line of bulbs on the original cluster. In the video you don't speak about this. Do I combine the gray with the Dim wire to the Dakota Digital box and ground the black? Im a little lost on this. Thanks
Awesome video. I am wiring a 69 Vette and starting with a new American autowire harness, vintage air, fuel injection, dakota digital, power window conversion, heated seats, electric fan etc. So my wiring is a job and a half and very confusing. Your video helped with some of that and am truly thankful. I was about to pull my hair out. LOL - Terry
I have a 70 Velle and the original lighting on the dash is dim. Is the an LED option with keeping the original cluster? Dakota Digital are super nice but pricey. Enjoy your videos, keep wrenching!
Yo Goose I figured it out made sure all the cat 5 cable are connected one question to set the third gauge which know is saying SETUP, is there supposed to be a third switch for the third gauge please if you can make a complete video of how each gauge on a SS style cluster should be set up switches and how to move indicator to show what you wait to show please I think I'm missing one step!
Good morning having problems with the Dakota Digital oil gauge not reading correctly I checked the ground and even add a ground still reading correctly any advice?
@@goosseperformance1444 for reason the oil gauge on cold start reads 21 psi then give it a little gas then goes up to 40psi and stays until the engine gets hot then it’s around 35 or 36 psi I have the HDX DD
I have the vhx for my 65 mustang, everything it hooked up but there the gauge isn't working when connected. Is there away to check the control box to make sure its working properly?.
I didn't see you wire the turn signal bulbs to use the factory style bulb on the dash (the extra 2-wire harness). I believe just wiring the turn signal wires to the box will only make the built-in bulbs on the dash light up and not the bulbs that would be in factory location, right?

This video helped a lot but I can’t figure out how to get my brake lights working. Do inrit a wire from BIM And splice into the factory brake switch?
Have you ever done Dakota digital RTX with American auto wire harness on the Chevelle?

Good work.. what wires do you to get the 4l60 transmission speed to work with the Dakota Digital?
just depends on what harness your running, look at my psi video

Where did u actually run dim to? Ignition? Running lights? Or light switch? This is where I am stuck at lol
I hooked it up to one of the dark grey wires that was from the old cluster that was for dash illumination

Yes you can
What color wire is the voltage wire on the original harness??
Where does that wire go on new Dakota digital

No
