On todays video I added a Turn Signal Kit to My Golf Cart, However I had to hardwire the entire kit because my golf cart doesn't support this kit. What this means is this kit would normally be a plug and play kit for other types of golf carts but I purchased this kit solely on price to use on my golf cart. If your cart is older like mine or you already have a headlight kit. This can be added without having to purchase a new kit!

I know this has been up for awhile, I had to get on here and comment and thank you for this! It’s the only one that explains how to do this without a stock harness! I am a new golf cart owner and bought the $65 harness and to my surprise my 2000 EZGO TXT doesn’t have the stock harness in there so THIS was so helpful! Thank you sir! All my lights work cuz of this video!
That’s great. It’s amazing what a little know how and a diagram can do. I used a spare ezgo harness and a little work to Rewire my Yamaha limo lights. Very doable
Nice video brotha!! Appriciate u brotha keep it up spread the "knoweldge" ( wisdom for you sir)
Looks like a nice rainy day project.
I purchased off your link my harness has everything working accept my tail lights and head light, my 9 pin is missing the center pin, do I take the 2 wires from old light switch and put in center of harness to complete the circuit
Just did the same on a 1990 Yamaha G8 followed your video everything worked just as planed Thanks
I have a 1993 Yamaha G8, I have been searching for a video with this info. I just ordered my light kit so I hope it goes as planned also.
Thanks for the video, it was a great help. My kit didn’t come with the instructions. I ordered a 9 pin connector so I wouldn’t have to cut the cable and added a fuse block plus a 48 volt relay to key switch the power to the step down transformer only with the key turned on.
Mine did not come with instructions either
Very helpful video, thank you!
Question, hooking it up this way you loose the running lights in the front.
Is that a problem when you go to get it inspected and licensed?
And is there a way to do it and keep the running lights in front?
Thanks!!
Does anyone have a picture of the wiring diagram
A nice clean job,looks great!
Thank you sir. Question would this work with a 2009 Club Cart DS Gas Cart? Would the harness need to be cut and wires ran like your video showed? Appreciate your vids.
We have headlights and tail lights already but the headlights are only good for distance. We want to add a bumper light. How would we wire it up?
When I hooked up the hot and the ground. I had continuous power to the Yellow wire And power to the Gray when you turn left. And power to the green. When you turn lef And that's it no power when you turn right. Any ideas
Great video. Have a question. Can you hook up a brake pad to tail light without a wiring harness? It should be simple with 2 wires from the brake pad and 3 wires from the tail lights. Lights come on but the pad doesn't engage the brake lights. Stumped. Appreciate...
Yes you can, So the brake pad is just a momentary switch. You need to supply 12v to one side of the pad and the other side of the pad needs to run to the Brake wire on the taillight. First remove the taillight from your cart. If there are 3 wires on the light then the brake light is probably tied to the running light. You would need to find that first. If your taillight only has 2 wires then it wasn't set up for brake lights and I will need to do another video on how to make a 2 wire light operate on 3 wire with operation brake and running light.
I did the whole install on this cart without a harness. I ran wires from each light, brake pad and horn.
Thank You Ryan! As always, Great Job on the content....
@@Fentertainmentwhen will you make that video. I'm very interested in that.
Thanks
Just got DS wired did a few things different . Great video informative !!
Is there any chance someone out there found an adapter so we can use most of the wires without having to cut and splice in?
my turn signals and taillights are not working but the horn and breaklights do. Could we have burned out the controller for those hook ups?
You can't make work at the same time with the head lights are working? My turn signal won't work with the head lights on just when the head lights are off
My 9-pin connector has 9 wires to it. there is a blue wire labeled as headlight and rear light. Does this get connected to the red wires from, the brake and headlights?
Did you power the turn signal red to the ignition switch, or to an actual relay/switched distribution block?
I have the exact same part, putting on the exact same golf cart. I have power hooked up to the signal switch, but I can’t get power to come out to any of the items like the horn and stuff.
Make sure the accessories have the same ground that the switch is using. The switch doesn’t send ground only power.
This is a great video!
Good video gonna do this to my DS
Nice job Ryan! , like always!
Hey Ryan have a question our cart only has a marker light in front but our brake lights has the white wire going to them that can be used with the turn signals. The front lights only has the single power wire and a ground. Will that still be a flasher if ran through tge control box ?
You can still have turn signals and park lights in a single filament light. However you would need 1 12v 30a relay per side on the front marker lights to be able to control the 2 wire lights for 2 different functions. So basically the relay is going to break signal to the wire when the flasher is on. So this is what I mean. I would wire the ground wire to the light and to pin 86 on the relay. I would wire the light to pin 30 and Wire the power light now to pin 87a. Then Run the blinker light to pin 85 on the relay. By doing this the relay has continuity when when off between leg 87a/30 and when the lights are on then the marker light will be on as well. However when you turn the signal on per side it will energize the relay from the blinker and the light will then turn on turn off turn on turn off and so on. I hope that makes sense. I need to do a video on that but its pretty simple.
Hey Ryan I finally got a kit And I ordered some headlights that are led halo to fit on our txt with a older titan body that I cannot find the headlight assembly for them as we think that someone installed some crazy ones that no one seems to know where they came from and they are not like the titans now. I want to make sure it should work. I tested it out using a source and the lights will work. But the instructions are not like yours They must have changed some The pad for brake not sure how to put that on a ez go and our steering column is one of the big sizes I don’t think the wire hiding part won’t work
I bought “same” kit, although I think the wire colors have different purposes. I can get the amber light to light up but not blink. Is that something in the controller of the flasher ? Also it seems the two wires I found that light up when using the turn signal, power the wire both left and right
did you find a solution?
Thanks Ryan, excellent video. Keep it up, subscribed!
Appreciate it
@@Fentertainment Ryan- I have a 48 volt cart with 8 volt batteries. Where do I get the 12 volts from for this?
@@jmm1000 amzn.to/3NyOOc7
@@Fentertainment Ahhh - Im actually cool with Lead Acid for now....I think what I need to just find is my "converter" (theres already a light kit installed, but its really older & actin funkyt. So I just ordered this kit, and will graft it into my 2002 DS (led headlites and all turn signals & horn are already there. Then I can use this grooby video to guy & reinstall the new hit to my converter , grounding, etc!
@@jmm1000 Sorry I thought you were asking about batteries. Some of the ds carts came with a dc converter from stock. Mine was a rectangular box on the side on the frame rail. If you dont have one you can install one. I would use the relay method so it doesnt drain your batteries though. ruclips.net/video/yBuia-M_jHQ/видео.html
Great tutorial as always Ryan thanks!
the kit you have listed has a light controller that is rated 8- 20 v. I have a 48v 05 precedent. Will the light controller need another part to make this work?
48 volts is for the traction battery voltage. The lighting, horn, etc. run off of 12 volts, which will be coming out of a 48VDC-to-12VDC step-down converter or from two of your 8-volt batteries run through a large 16VDC-to-12VDC "converter."
I have a 2007 Yamaha golf cart
Hey man, love ur videos. What your that on some solar panels on the roof of electric cars?
I think it’s cool
I need your help. I have a gasoline Club Car, the gas pedal is sticking, the key will not kill the engine, the park brake is not holding, I have to lift the seat up and pull off the spark plug wire. Please let me know.
2 problems: 1. Lubricate and inspect linkage between carb and gas pedal, insure all is smooth and easy to move. When gas pedal is up, carb should be in idle potition. 2. ignition key has wire wrong or missing that should go to the coil (perhaps thru a relay). Someone may have hotwired" it and that could be causing it to run on and on. InventPeaceNotWar
The center blue wire I found goes to headlight swtich on the turn sig stalk, BUT DO NOT use high watt headlights as the wiring is only like 18 ga, really can't handle 200 watts for 2x headlights of old syle incandescent type, USE low watt LED headlights (9 wires really total in socket), yeah don't use the socket, either solder or use wire caps with tape on them for added firmness. The socket is a nighmare if you stick one pin in, it then become nigh well imposs w/o special tool to get it out. InventPeaceNotWar
Yo Bro, i bought that system after watching you. My cart is a ‘94 gas club car. Everything went easy till i got to the front turn signals. Green and gray wires. There are no white wires existing in my front light harness. I tried hooking the green wire to the existing yellow going to the amber lamp. No good, i think i fried something in the controller since now i get NO signal at all going to the green wire in the new harness. I e mailed the seller to see if i can get another controller box. The rear lights had a spare blue wire just hanging there, hooked up to those for rear turns and worked perfectly. Do i need different front lights????? Help! Thanks, TJ Strain
I’m having the same issue. Rear turning/brake lights function, but neither of the front turning lights will blink. I’ve tried to wire it several different ways. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. At least I have rear turning signals for now. 🤷♂️
Did yours really shut off in 30 or so seconds. I have the same kit and they do not turn off? I have read other people say theirs would not turn off on its own. The instructions say it will.
It did at the end of the video.
You waisted half the video mounting the blinker switch. My kit didnt come with instructions. And the video is to blurry to see any of it. The only clue i have is that you named the color if eight wires and what they do.
