Dan...Thank you for the easy to follow directions. I saved 350.00 doing this myself and believe me I'm no mechanic! These bars are super nice and very well made.
I bought mine with upper and lower (BMW) bars already fitted. However, I never go off road and pretty confident I'm not going to drop it now, so was thinking of removing the upper ones to make it look nicer. All my friends said keep them on though in case!
Keep them! I think those bikes look pretty sharp with the bars,🙂. You can also mount stuff to them, like lights or highway pegs if you do a lot of long trips. I might post a video on that soon.
Hi there, what a great video you made! I'm looking for some crashbars, but there is zo much choice! is there a reason you chose the crasbar from Wunderlich? of did you also have a look at others? like Touratech, outback motortek or SW motech?
@joyn8 there are many good options and even the inexpensive no brand options work reasonably well. I picked these because of their quality. They're really well made and all the mounting points lined up perfectly (unlike the cheap Amazon ones I installed on a G310R which required a bit of force to line up)
When you were fitting the tank bars. I noticed you had a steering damper fitted to the bike, did you fit that and if so can you advise the make /model. I appreciate your time. Best wishes.
I have the same bars on my bike, thanks a lot for the tutorial, but I have a small inconvenience with them. While installing them, I realised BMW decided to put the coolant inlet right below the bmw logo on the right side of the bike. With the upper bars installed, it is impossible to reach it as there is not enough space to remove the plastic where GS is written. Any solution?
I haven't checked my coolant since installing the crash bars but that's a good point. The only way may be to remove the right side bar. I'll take a look and post an update if i find out otherwise...
Just fixed both Tank Guard and Engine Guard seeing your videos. Quite good.

Awesome! Nice work!!!
Great tutorial. I could not understand the instructions for the front mount and this video was so useful. Thanks.
Thanks so much for the kind words!
This was very useful. Much easier than reading the manufacturer's instructions.
Thanks for this. I got some bars from Amazon and the instructions didn’t make sense. Your video is what made me install mine correctly
Great to hear!
Se ve facil, pero al instalarlas se tomo mas tiempo, pero se instalaron, gracias por la tutoria. desde Medellin, Colombia, Parcero.
All your videos are very informative and very well presented and easily understood, which is a plus side for me to be honest!😂
Thank you, much appreciated!
Just bought an F850 GS and wanted to see if I could do this myself and which tools I’d need. Thanks a lot, this was very helpful.
Congrats on the new bike!
Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing!

@@danondemand That's a great point. Yes on reflection I'll keep them.

Hola, Is it the same for a bmw 850 GSA?
The installation should be very similar, but please check the Wunderlich website to make sure you get the right part.
