The Hidden Secrets of North Carolina's own Stone Mountain

- Rising sharply over 600 feet above the surrounding terrain, this granite dome, designated a National Natural Landmark, is the centerpiece of Stone Mountain State Park in North Carolina. Located just 60 miles northwest of Winston-Salem the park is adorned with beautiful cascading waterfalls, winding, cool mountain streams, and scenic hiking trails. Join us as we hike the Stone Mountain Loop Trail and explore its stunning landscape.
Stone Mountain Loop is a challenging trail which takes you through a restored homestead of a family that lived in the shadow of Stone Mountain for four generations, past a scenic waterfall, and to the summit of the mountain. There are two trailheads at Stone Mountain State Park to begin this hike. The Upper Trailhead and the lower trailhead. We opted to start our adventure at the lower trail head.

Apologies for my absence...I lost balance and fell during filming when I jumped from one giant boulder to antoher over the water by the waterfall. I got banged-up pretty bad, but I live hahha. ouch ouch ouch hahah

I enjoy the sound and colour of nature. the terrain may seem slippery ,but it appears to be worth it.

Through a number of videos online, I have come to learn just how stunning and beautiful the landscapes of north Carolina really are! Its stunning to consider the vast expanse of nature in the state! If I were to travel to America, travelling across the east coast is most definitely something that I would want to do! The forests are so lush and vast too, it is little wonder why it could hold so much secrets! Spending a day exploring waterfalls and mountainous regions is definitely a day for me! Wonderful and incredible exploration once again from you!

A beautiful place to hike but a hard place to love back in the day but they bred hard people back in those days and to have 8 children, then bring them up, must have been a full time job in itself. Loved the colour in the trees and seeing the ,local wildlife too. The size of some of those giant boulders were amazing, not keen on the river crossing mind, good job on getting over that! Lovely waterfall but man there was a lot of steps on this trail but so worth it for the view from Stone Mountain viewpoint - what a view! Cheers Alan
