      no practical application ? Lol i used these to cool the system, not to mention i injured my finger twice and its rpm was so much that its noise was more louder than my speakers BUT i put up a voltage regulator between it and my molex psu cables and wew it ran silent and cooled entire system. I still have like 10 of these and i bought each for Rs.50 or less than a dollar each from a local electricals shop , the guy brought a entire jute bag ( almost 100 KGs) filled with these from idk where,2nd hand yes but they were taken off from servers or the mobile cell towers .

      In the situation that Linus is showing here, its completely impractical for 95% of users. Sure it works well, but who wants to sit next to a machine that sounds like a 747 taking off? Then again, its Linus, what hasn't he done thats impractical for most people.

      @krzysztofczarnecki8238 6 лет назад +4

      And aren't that much louder, but of course can't lift an object as heavy a a PC. The point of this fan is to be small and still generate a lot of airflow- it cannot benefit from a large, optimally shaped propeller, because it has to fit in a server case, so it has to make up for it with speed. And pedestal or desk fans can have the same power and cause more airflow and less noise due to large, slow propeller. The blowie also has to be able to maintain a pressure difference, as the air has to go through heatsinks and possibly other components and dust, which obstruct the air flow, whereas neither a standing fan nor a quadcopter rotor has to do that as it operates in open air.

    • @maxxiang8746
      @maxxiang8746 5 лет назад +7

      @@HaydenX this fan uses less than 5 amps, a good quality racing drone could use over 120 amps at 14.8 volts, as each motor is drawing over 30 amps, and plus all the other devices and inefficiencies of the motor drivers, etc.

      I think dremels go past 30,000 rpm. Making a fan strong enough to hold itself together at that speed is likely the bigger challenge. The slow mo guys span a CD so fast it sent shards everywhere. I’d be scared to be near a fan even at 11,000 rpm

      That would be a good fan if you added in a fan controller for it just to turn it down just enough to keep the cpu cool and get rid of the stupid noise. I love jay2cents but speed fan sucks it only lets you really lower your fan speed to 50 percent and even that is stupid loud. Now with a fan controller my fans run pretty fast but they are also quite. I run them from 1500 to 1800 rpm and my pc is so much quieter than when i was running it on speedfan.

Man the money I have spent on aftermarket coolers in the last 20yrs since I first started building PC's. So far my favorite is the Prolimatech Megahalems. Best designed mounting hardware, effortless no strain installs. I kept that cooler after not being able to use it on all my AM4 updates to my PC's. Hoping at some point there will be a use for it with maybe just maybe going to Intel again in the future and if the coolers will still be capable.

  • @photondebuger45
    @photondebuger45 3 года назад

    Yeah that is true like I'm sure a lot of people haven't tried this either but the same concept applys to air conditioning too. You can try this in your car like how linus said you get less cooling the more air is rushing by due to thermal dynamics. In ac in your car in fact the coldest your ac will get is it being on low. The reason behind that is because the longer air is in contact with the exchanger in these cases the heat sink and the evaporator core of a car the more effective it will be on heat transfer. So indeed yes it's worse moving more air by a heat exchanger because thermal dynamics can't over come the velocity of the air. Now if you are able to increase volume and keep velocity down which is probably impossible I think maybe just maybe it will be better unless.....they find out how to put a mini ac unit on a cpu and cool it that way lol.

      Just take control of the other one. Say I have my pc and a laptop. The pc is the host. I move the mouse on my pc to my laptop and it works normally. If I try to move my laptop mouse to my pc it will not move over.
      Watch Linus' review for more information. :P

      Depends on which is running in server mode and which in client mode. The server PC will go offscreen and control any adjacent client PCs. Client mice will stay on their respective monitors.

      Btw, be careful of what Synergy advertises (and linus in the end): the drag and drop feature doesn't work yet. I baught the "pro" version, also because of the coupon LTT provided, and I feel frustrated because it's still advertised as having the drag and drop.

    I paid 72 euros combined for the bloweymatrons, that makes 24 euros per bloweymatron.

      @summushieremiasclarkson4700 7 лет назад +2

      Why does Delta T hurt? Yes, it should've been Change in T, or Delta T. I suppose your objection is that what he said was Delta squared T.

    • @slytherinda4669
      @slytherinda4669 7 лет назад +23

      my objection is that its redundant and unnecessary. You wouldn't say "the change in temperature change."

    • @spice9756
      @spice9756 7 лет назад +10

      Delta means change so they're basically saying change in temperature change.

      Boeing don't make turbine engines. What you want is the main fan from a GE GE9X, world's largest jet engine. It will cost a pretty penny though, like 1000x the cost of one of these fans for a single GE9X blade or something.

    Did something like that with a 92mm x 25mm delta fan on an L9i for an ITX build once. Needless to say that it worked but the noise was occasionally ridiculous.
