If you like to see more Madonna performing like this, you need to check her 2003 promo mini-concerts of American Life album: at the Cantine du Faubourg in Paris, and another at MTV On Stage and On The Record in NYC. These were intimate small intimate settings before 300-500 audience where she played the acoustic guitar with her 5 man band (no high tech stage, no dancers, no multi-media back screen images). These were amazing videos and her interaction with the audience and her band is so fascinating.

Let’s just say you scratched the surface. Her tours are unmatched 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 she also is one of the few artists who has filmed every single tour of hers and released it! Most skip a few but ever since her very first tour on vhs, she’s filmed the shows
@@BethThereseReacts literally every. single. one. Sooner or Later live at the 1991 Academy Awards 3. Bad Girl live at SNL 1993 Madonna is not very keen on performing live on tv because she's very perfectionist, she hates not being in control of things, the fact that something can go wrong and she won't be able to correct it makes her go crazy lol. As for the tours, I think you should finish the album series before going into them.

I was surprised/disappointed Taylor didn't sing at all too. I thought she would at least sing back-up on the choruses. Madonna and Taylor are similar vocally - not the greatest singers of their generations but everything they sing is from their hearts/heads and they do it with real conviction and emotion. The thing about Madonna is that her music can stand on its own, but it's the visuals (video/performances) that have made her a legend. I know copyright is a bish but don't skip 'em!
It was a last minute rushed performance. They met backstage and then Madonna had this idea of Taylor being her guitarist on the stage and Taylor also learned the song on guitar last minute. This was a laid back performance so it worked
Hey Beth! Diving into madonna’s work can be a LOT of work, but also a LOT of fun. I personally would love to hear your takes on her videography and her live performances. To me, you’re one of the few reactors here who really really gets her and I’m always excited to hear what you have to say and your reactions to her work ‘cause you’re very funny too. I’ve seen a few tweets about you on twitter and trust me when I say the madonna fans will be watching your madonna-related content. Keep it going! PS: I’m a swiftie too and this performance is GOLD to me.
Hi Beth. With everything you've covered and enjoyed, it's hard to believe you still have her entire Imperial Phase to experience. You've been just either side of it, as it's bookended by her slow-burn sleeper hit debut album in 83 and the release of her SEX book/Erotica album in 92 and its public backlash. Her world domination started in 1984 when she premiered Like A Virgin live at the first VMAs and became an overnight sensation, and continued through to her creation of "celebrity reality content" with the groundbreaking Truth or Dare concert film in 1991 of her 1990 Blonde Ambition Tour which SET THE TEMPLATE for all concerts after it. 8 years at stratospheric levels of stardom. Bigger than Taylor Swift levels. She was "breaking the internet" and "going viral" before those things were even invented. All her biggest selling albums and biggest hits. So many at the same time, she was the one knocking herself off the number 1 spot. Over 100 million albums sold during this period - Like a Virgin (84), True Blue (86), You Can Dance (87), Who's That Girl (87), Like A Prayer (89), I'm Breathless (90), and The Immaculate Collection (90). Her most iconic film - Desperately Seeking Susan and its juggernaut song Into the Groove. Live Aid concert and world tours. So many iconic music videoes and many moments that literally changed pop culture. Too many to write here. She was in the newspapers and on tv news all the time, main news, not entertainment section. She created news. Michael Jackson, Elvis, The Beatles, Madonna. No other artist is in this league for their effect on the world, not just pop culture. That is why she can still do a world tour this year at 65 years old and 1.6 million people will turn up to see her at just ONE concert (Rio beach).
I love her voice!! One of the reasons I love Madonna is she remixes studio version for live performances most the time in a good way, this time she performed very identical to studio version as you said, though. Maybe for Taylor? Anyway, some artists remix songs very weird sometimes but her remix- stuff are always brilliant both in studio and live performance! Currently my favorite Madonna’s live performances are “The Power of Good-Bye” and “I Deserve it”. I hope you watch them!
I'm glad you started watching Madonna's performances. No one commands the stage like her! A short list of suggestions... tours you NEED to watch: Blond Ambition (she literally invented the format of the tours we know today as Renaissance, The Eras, Chromatica etc etc) on this tour; The Girlie Show (tour from the Erotica era, my favorite!); Confessions Tour (I think it's super refined and elegant); MDNA Tour (it's very technological and has remarkable performances).
and about performances, the most remarkable in my opinion are: Like a virgin (VMA 1984, this performance redefined the concept of award show performances); Vogue (VMA 1990); Like a virgin (Blond Ambition Tour, she was almost ARRESTED because of this performance); Vogue (Blond Ambition Tour); Fever (Girlie Show); Live To Tell (Confessions Tour); Future Lovers/I Feel Love (Confessions Tour); Girl Gone Wild (MDNA Tour); Like a Virgin (VMA 2003, with the controversial kiss between Britney and Christina Aguilera); Express Yourself (Blond Ambition Tour) and, of course, the Halftime Show.
i loved that you started with this performance because is so cute 😍 i'd recommend you watch the living for love performances, which are very danceable! she fell on stage for the first time in her career at the brit awards 😥
Please react to her tours, the girlie show tour, the reinvention tour, drowned world tour and confessions tour as some of her best, but all of them are inmaculate tbh
Ooh chil’ you just opened the floodgates. M is quite possibly the greatest live music performance artist of all time. Certainly she created the blueprint for all modern pop tours after her. Where to even begin in terms of recommendations? You know, I’m just going to let you discover things at your own pace but I have a feeling you’ll be doing a lot more very soon.
Thank you for your reaction. It made me appreciate it even more. Some of the other Ghosttown TV performances were even better vocally speaking in my opinion, my favorite being the one from the Jonathan Ross show. Can’t wait for your Like a Prayer reaction! 😊
Her tours are epic but I really think you should react to entire shows at once because there is context and a story to how the songs are arranged and depicted. Her own live shows are going to be much more detailed and over the top than an appearance on one of these shows.
Madonna is hands down the best live performer I have ever seen. And I have seen many different artists over the last 35 years. I have seen Madonna 10 times lives over 9 different tours. I am excited to see you do her live tours and performances too! This was a good performance to one of my favorite songs of hers. You haven't seen anything yet. Live to Tell from the Confessions Tour and Celebration Tour. Sooner of Later from the Oscars. Hung Up from the EMA's. Express Yourself and Vogue from the VMA's. Like A Prayer from Blond Ambition and Sticky and Sweet tours. Rain from the Girlie Show tour. La Isla Bonita from Girlie Show tour as well. Music Inferno from Confessions. Dress you Up from the Virgin tour. Into the Groove from ReInvention Tour. Ray of Light from Oprah. I can go on and on.......... :)

@@BethThereseReacts One more, you need to see Joan of Arc live from Ellen Show. The live version was so ballad and different from the studio version. It was so emotional
If there is ONE tour or performance you need to see it's the Confessions Your and the performance would probably be the mash up of borderline erotica ECT she killed it
During the Madonna journey you'll realize that she can sing but in time she decided too to take the time to the dance, choreography, stage and lights... When she has more intimate moments she can release her potential ❤
When you think about how big Taylor is (and was then) and she was like "yes, I'll sit here and strum" you just know how iconic it was to her to be on stage with Madonna.

Madonna is not the best voice which was ever created on the planet for sure and her shows are very theatrical she was the first female artist who did that. Behind the theatrical effects there are a lot of deep meaning or message that is why I like her and she is a pretty good dancer, though she has not always a perfect vocalist. In this life on Girlie show tour is heartbreaking though, so much pain and emotion. Also: Sooner or later at the Oscars 1991 which is one of her bests vocally and she is a total diva there. And again a very good and enjoyable reaction ❤
I am in love with Madonna from day one,I am 52 yrs old. I am falling in love with Taylor Swift, ever since she fought to get the rights of her music . Taylor is a smart businessman, and she is endorsing Kamala.
Seeing the reaction to this performance with Taylor was a surprise. Apparently a lot of comments were written under the video. Madonna's concert tours are incredible. My favorite tour of hers is The Girlie Show in support of the album Erotica (definitely her best tour). Five best tours in my opinion: 1. The Girlie Show (1993); 2. Blond Ambition World Tour (1990) - in support of the albums Like a Prayer and I'm Breathless; 3. Confessions Tour (2006); 4. The Celebration Tour (2023-2024); 5. The MDNA Tour (2012).

And as far as future channel content goes, I hope it doesn't stress you out too much; we all love your reactions, we'll be here whenever you're ready to release anything! For live Madonna: The Confessions Tour is IMO her best. But she has *tons* (like, tons) of great/iconic live performances & videos, it'll be a great deep dive.

I love when there’s a song, video or performance you cannot wait to listen or watch to. It shows how much you love/like the artist 😅. I’m excited to hear that the Like a Prayer album reaction is almost here haha, can’t wait! 😊

Love the reaction, thanks for it! If you want to see her shine vocally, please check out these 3 tv performances of hers:
1. Ray of Light live at Oprah Winfrey (probably her best live performance)
2. Sooner or Later live at the 1991 Academy Awards
3. Bad Girl live at SNL 1993
Madonna is not very keen on performing live on tv because she's very perfectionist, she hates not being in control of things, the fact that something can go wrong and she won't be able to correct it makes her go crazy lol. As for the tours, I think you should finish the album series before going into them.
@@giovuolo123 Thank you! Oh that’s interesting. Yeah i won’t be doing a tour til after the albums

@@FindingMadonna Yesss conviction and emotion 👏🏻 love that
It was a last minute rushed performance. They met backstage and then Madonna had this idea of Taylor being her guitarist on the stage and Taylor also learned the song on guitar last minute. This was a laid back performance so it worked
@@Minivan9255what?!? I never knew that 👏👏
Hey Beth! Diving into madonna’s work can be a LOT of work, but also a LOT of fun. I personally would love to hear your takes on her videography and her live performances.
I remember watching this performance and thinking wtf (but in a amazing way) this song gets much better with this accoustic vibe
@@MATHEUSMISTERBEAN It’s so cool to see a different rendition!

Her tours are epic but I really think you should react to entire shows at once because there is context and a story to how the songs are arranged and depicted. Her own live shows are going to be much more detailed and over the top than an appearance on one of these shows.
