One of the few bands that never made a bad record.
Wowee Zowee??
@@MiscellaneousDebris The most challenging Pavement record, which is why I like it so much.
@@MiscellaneousDebris How do you come to that? That record has some of their best material! Listen again! Your comment pisses me off.
@@MiscellaneousDebris "Grounded", "Half a Canyon", "We Dance"!
@@MiscellaneousDebris That album is amazing from start to finish.
Amazing you were able to log into this account after ten years
Also I’m applauding Bob’s expert pandemic grocery shopping skills from here in Cleveland, he just can’t hear me
I too virtually applaud Bob on his efficient and responsibly done shopping venture. Here here!
I fucking love Wowee Zowee so much. I had just moved to Iowa and found an indie record store to get it when it was released. I was 14. That record is so important to me.
Wowee Zowee is 25 years old? But then that would make me... oh shit
Yep. Me too.
and zappa's one is 50
Pavement Forever
You’re everywhere cool
one of the great all-time albums
Gotta love Bob with the headphones on backwards! He is, as they say, the man.
Wowee Zowee was...is so damn good!
My favorite pavement record. So out there!
Bob’s the man!
Wowed Zowee, in my mind is their best. Black Out, Pueblo, Malks clear influence smoking the lettuce. It’s surf, country, and rock.
Which tracks would you say are surf?
@@shadowtime91 Pueblo is a Beach Boys song about watching surfers in the early morning as they perform the Sisyphean ritual of wiping-out over and over trying to catch that one perfect, golden wave - that counts as surf, right? 😬
bob is awesome
I was one of the 100 watching at Lollapalooza in NC. Great show and lineup. 'AWWWW SHIT BABY!!!'
I was at Charlestown West VA! Bought ticket to see pavement. Unfortunately the crowd wasn’t feeling it.
Wowee Zowee was your best album - it's literally a tour of all 90s alt rock music played by Pavement
Hey Bob! Can you give us the lowdown on that Louis Largent 120 minutes interview?
Love that about Lee Ranaldo being into the Lollapalooza shows
I went to Lollapalooza ‘95 specifically to see Pavement and Sonic Youth. They were pretty good that day too.
Get a sense for this fellow at 5:02 - has a good sense of humor and - granted with the 20-20 vision of hindsight - A humble perspective on things. Plus great laugh!
My favorite pavement album and I was ecstatic my 14 dollars got me 18 tracks
i’m here because of Jorden from “daze with jorden the lion” and his channel here on youtube i’m a new fan i really enjoy the music thank you bob
Best Pavement album for sure.
Bob is the true pavement frontman
He's the avey tare of Pavement
Great record.
Wowee is their Best album!!!
I’m getting my Sensitive/Brink 7 inch today or Monday by mail !! I can’t wait
Their masterwork
❤❤❤👏👏👏
this interview & grocery getting...standing ovation :)
Terror Twilght is a great album too
Critics say what they want to say, I personally think it's a great album too!
Boy were they wrong, i loved wz... i first saw them in 92 backing sonic youth in manchester, doing slanted. It's an awesome record, not a skippable song on it. One of those that towards the end of a song youre sad its over but happy for the next. I dont often do books or movies twice, but wowee zowee is always on the possibilities on the car play list and sometime i'll take the scenic route just squeeze it all in.
Half a canyon riff intro is the shit
Bob how have you been, man I can't believe how it happened.
« Lee’s into it » ! 👌🏻
I mean don't get me wrong all Pavements records are good... but it blew my mind people didn't notice that this record, IMO and all time top five, was a masterpiece. There are 3 songs on this that if you ever do one of this you can die happy. Three of them. And everything in between is just your regular wonderful song bc why settle for less.
I have a copy of your Wowee Zowee cassette album.
Fight this generation
that song is cool how it changes in the middle
Love pavement but man it's true the lollapalooza set I saw (Mass) was my first chance to see'em and it was a heartbreak. The sonics, the vibe, just sounded puny and annoying and terrible compared to the other acts. On the other hand they sounded fantastic in small clubs - killer show on the Brighten tour a few years later.
Was going to comment on the reasons Wowee Zowee is my favorite Pavement album until he said all of them.
もう25年..
だよね。俺の若いごろの唯一毎日聞いてたバンド
什么?
I always understood "slacker" as referring to the audience more than the band. Like "skate punk" or "stoner rock" - not that the people making it couldn't also be skaters or stoners (or both), but I just always assumed that the classifier applied to the plurality of the fans.
But real fans of those good bands. we remember that that was the GOOD Lallapalooza show year. Seriously. We as fans, we know.
Good GOD David Yow got NAKED.
No es slackers
I was one of those college students interviewing Bob, but I was a SUPER fan who was asking the significance of every totally meaningless detail. Just as annoying in its own way, I'm sure.
Bob, be honest. When you were interviewed by Lewis Largent with Malkmus, what really happened? Please do a video on that. I could tell you were trying to really control the vibe and Largent looked really uncomfortable while Malkmus looked like he wanted to punch Largent. Give us a video.
I had to google what you were talking about - Malkmus has been open that he was very shy/uncomfortable on stage and dealing with the press, but my god, that was the most insufferable "How do you do, kids?" antagonistic assclown I've ever seen fake his way through an interview about a band he clearly knew nothing about. Can you blame him?
Holy crap, I watched that interview, too. The host was a complete asshole.
@@ohfoolishworkerbee I just watched it for the first time. I had real anxiety for Malk-his arms were folded most of the time in a hyperdefensive posture. Oof.
please, just play Candylad
IDK, I would applaud a perfect grocery run if I saw one.
pavement can't make a bad record - leave it to sidewalk.
For me Wowee Zowee is a good but not the best of your albums. Little to harmless in music an lyrics compared with the older albums. I can definitely see that it was well scripted, planned and produced.
My favorite songs came from Slanted, Westing and Crooked. I like it wild ;)
9:52 Does that mean that Steve often screwed you guys over in playing songs? Lol.
Interesting but what's wrong with the Beastie boys the breeders dinosaur Jr Soundgarden Rollins band butthole surfers, etc?
Maulk Quit fucking with bob n westy
This was cool until you said you wear masks and social distance.
This was cool until your unnecessary comment.
Slanted, Crooked were way better and everything after that was disappointing
Both are great and I love them very much. Wowie zowie is also great and the three of them are my favorite. The fact that a fan of the first two would be disappointed in zowie is?
Nonsense
That’s just taste dawg
