Ashlynn’s quick release and accuracy are amazing. Equally amazing is her off-ball motion: she finds gaps in the D and makes them pay. She’s an exciting player to watch. I’d like to shine a light on the players around her though. Ash is open a lot not because the D is bad. It’s because the players around her are deadly AND stay in motion. They’re unlike any UConn lineup I’ve seen in the past 4 years. The off-ball motion and awareness of each other is staggering.
Ashlynn so far has made up with the loss of Azzi.. She has a total package when it comes to her shots..3' s , midrange, pullups, and driving to the basket..And she only a freshman and will get better. She still needs to work on her defense. At times she seems a step slower.. With more experience she will learn to move her feet better once she starts learning her opponents moves.

This young lady is GREAT. And she's just a freshman 😊
She's really filling the Lou Lopez Senechal role nicely. Wish we had someone to fill Dorka's role.
I don't think we'll have that, but Ice Brady is coming along nicely. She has a nice jumper and rebounds well already.
"highlightes *this far* " and she's only a FRESHMAN. imagine how good she'll be in 3 years 😳
Shade has been a very pleasant surprise. She and Arnold have stepped up when they were most needed.
Can I say “UCONN’s been throwing some Shade” - yes sir!
What a find that girl was!
Shade and KK are already sophomores and soon to be juniors per Bestwick and Culmo. I agree.

It won't be long before Ashlyn Shade is scoring 20+ points per game.
She's so solid, crazy to think she's just a freshmen. What will she be like by the time she's a senior?
