I think what I'm looking forward to the most is Stacy's relationship with Perry and OWCA. She's the only one who knows Perry's secret and they never expanded upon that in the original series beyond one line
I hope they throw us a bone with that one as well. Even if there isn't a full episode dedicated to it, I hope that Stacey and Perry interact more in the revival, maybe ieven redirect Candace who's about to see him or something like that; a very quick gag that doesn't really interrupt the episode and such. I'd happily take that at least. Ideally we'd get a full episode of Stacey and Perry having their own B plot together, likely with Doof involved somehow that ropes her in. But that is very elaborate so it seems unlikely unless it's one of those formula-breaking hour long TV specials or something. Which is possible as well I suppose.
I am super excited to see what happens between perry and Stacy‼️ Some of the episodes titles for season 5 have been released and one of them is called “agent T for teen”. I’m hoping, if not pretty sure, that it’s going to be an episode when Stacy and Perry team up!!
Personally I wish Phineas and Ferb remember perry being an agent and being able to interact with him in his normal job because they helped him big time during the 2nd dimension incident, though this is also if the new show makes all of them older.
Dan Povenmire himself has actually explained the concert thing with Phineas and Ferb's parents on his youtube and tiktok! Basically, Love Handle is an 80's *style* band, Linda and Lawrence were dressed up for that concert and had hired a sitter for the kids. Edit: Here's the original link: ruclips.net/video/BpFIrUWe1V4/видео.html Head to to about 7:10 for the Love Handle question
@@hamzasultan96 What I was saying was that Love Handle didn't exist in the actual 80's, that's just what they look like. I'm about to edit my comment with the link, go check out what he said for yourself
I remember reading a pitch on Reddit for a Phineas and Ferb quarantine special, where the family are all on lockdown for Covid and they have to find something to build INSIDE the house, and all the while Candace is trying to bust them but their mom is never in the same room meaning she doesn’t see it. It actually sounded like a solid pitch
Reminds me of the episode Bullseye, but the twist was that it was the mom building something. However I don’t think we need a quarantine episode. Good grief.
That would be hilarious honestly!! And ngl Phineas and Ferb’s house would have been the place to BE during quarantine. They’d probably build a tiny theme park in their room out of toys and then shrink themselves down to play in it or some other cool thing like that
Another part of Phineas and Ferb's formula that doesn't get enough credit is how it breaks one of the biggest "rules" for writing a story: giving the main character(s) a conflict to deal with. Obviously the pair (and their friends) deals with conflicts in some episodes, but nothing bad ever happens to them. There are almost never any real stakes. I heard somewhere that the show wasn't even originally picked up because the idea that nothing bad ever happens to P&F was expected to make it extremely uninteresting. It gets around this issue by writing the other characters to have their own conflicts.
That's because Candace and Doof are the actual main characters. The B-plot is actually the main one. Phineas and Ferb's creations are the backdrops for the episode, rather than the actual focus. The special episodes are the only ones that Phineas, Ferb, and friends actually undergo any development.
I mean phineas and ferb was probably one of the first shows most of us watched growing up, so no matter how good they make it any difference would be hated
Dan actually talked about how Phineas & Verb's parents were dressed at the concert, and that it actually took place MUCH later, like early 2000s, but because it was an 80's metal hair band, they pulled out their old clothes from the 80's to match the vibe.
I feel like Milo Murphey's Law is a perfect example of how to do Post-Evil Doof and Perry. Doof tries to do something good with his inators and ends up messing things up, with Perry being assigned to stop him from being a danger to himself and others when things go wrong. This can be paralleled with our newly developed "enjoy every day" Candace, where she tries to get their mom to NOT see what the boys are doing and succeeds; there's an entire episode in P&F about that exact thing.
I really like this. I feel like it’s definitely something they can pull off, and even if it doesn’t happen in season five, I can definitely see it happening in season six
With Doof, i feel like the reason would be something like this: "I want to, but turns out i have 1 more year until my evil license expires- and I paid a lot of money for this! I don't want the money to go to waste."
@@AeonKnigh432 I thought they were funny, but their humor was maybe better for older audiences or specific audiences. Removing them to make it less complex and to appeal to a wider audience was very good for them to do.
Fun Fact: Dan Povenmire confirmed the flashback moment in Dude We’re Getting the Band Back Together isn’t actually too far back as Candace was already born and it was just a concert where everyone wore styles from that time
What if the B plot of the revival is just Doof’s failed attempts of being a good guy and Perry has to help him? So you can keep them in the story while also sticking to the canon
they basically have it that he has the money to have his whole tower because he sells his “failed” (didn’t work for his purpose) to the villains in Hamster & Gretel
@@Guest2501 make flying cars! (Make it happen guys!) honestly this show made me take up starting a band cuz i been playing guitar for 21 years as of rn)
As a huge fan of the series, i actually wouldn't mind for them to return. Summer is never over and there are a lot of different things they can do with that series and the characters for the longest time. I'd love to see them do a crossover with a big franchise like they did with Star Wars and Marvel. Also, since Phineas and Ferb gave us so many banger original songs, i'm absolutely down for more of those in this revival 🙌
The beauty of it is that it doesn't have to make sense. If they try to hard to make it make sense, it won't work. They could literally just be like, "Huh, does this summer seem like it's going on even longer than last summer? ....Weird. Anyway Ferb, what are we gonna do today?" and there we go.
@@SomeRUclipsTravelerIf anything saying it’s the same summer seems like it’d give the opposite effect because they would be trying to too hard to rewrite the original endings for the series rather than continue off of it in the next summer
My problem is that even if the formula manages to avoid scraping the bottom of the barrel, I want the *characters* to do something new. What’s so interesting about the same characters going back to the same dynamics with none of their experiences having changed them in any meaningful way? Especially Candance. God, after Candance against the Universe established her busting obsession to be rooted in deep-seated insecurities informed by how exceptional her brothers are, it would be INCREDIBLY depressing to see her go back to that. And Doofenshmirtz committed to leaving evil behind for Vanessa. She helped him realize he was actually at heart a decent guy. I don’t want to see them lose all that just to reestablish the formula. Even if it wouldn’t be tremendously sad, it would also be just…such a waste of fresh potential.
I could see them mixing in episodes that abandon the formulaic idea and try to work with the dynamics established in CATU and the finale. But as much as I’d find it compelling I doubt that’ll be the whole show
Maybe this is just me, but I think that the episodes won’t be completely formulaic. A lot of the shows Dan and swampy have been making definitely have their trademark formulaic style, but have also been trying out overarching plots, especially in Milo Murthy’s law. I think that this theme of formulaic but with plot will hopefully be in the revival. Also, I think that they could probably easily adapt the universe movie into the plot, doing something along the lines of instead of trying to bust the boys, Candace would now engage with her brothers and also act as an overprotective sister. It would be a direct 180 from trying make her mom come home to trying to stall her for as long as possible. Then when it seems like the brothers are about to be busted, the machination absurdly disappears, leaving Candace dumbfounded as to how the two did that. Honestly though, this is just me spitballing so eh, we’ll see
Possible explanation of the earlier style clothing at the time of the concert: They dressed up in their most retro clothes [not their famous iconic styles] as part of going to this nostalgic farewell concert.
That's probably the reason but I do think the idea that Linda and Lawrence were a couple for a while before they had their kids and reunited is pretty interesting.
I think the best course of action for Doof is have him accidentally be evil. He tries to build something for the betterment of the tri-state area, but it backfires and he unintentionally succeeds at the dreams he left behind, but he doesn't like it anymore.

Doofenshmirtz doesn't need to be a villain to be brought back in the same way. Some of his inventions are merely made to be petty, and others simply fail at their function. The reformed Doofenshmirtz would make some device to help people, it would malfunction horribly or be hijacked by some other recurring villain, Perry would show up on behalf of O.W.C.A. to help Doofenshmirtz wrangle his invention, and the machine would unintentionally destroy or hide Phineas and Ferb's creation.
I think my favorite episode concept is the episode that is just the first episode, but the entire thing is a musical. The tradition of having one new song every episode was started with episode two, so episode one never had a song. As a bit of a light hearted jab at that little detail, they made what was, essentially a remake of episode one where they crammed songs into every scene they could with a presentation that reminds me of broadway musicals.
Fun fact: that bug trio from Doof 101 and OWCA Files, was _actually part of the original pitch._ Not the pitch pilot, but there have been various concept arts released that feature the bug trio front and center in several scenarios, from around the time Doofenshmirtz was still called Mittleschmertz and had blonde, spiky hair.
I think an idea they could do for the revival is have Perry and Doof team-up but against that Doofensmirtz from the 2nd dimension movie. So you have a slightly newer dynamic of Perry stopping Evil Doof with Good Doof helping out, or atleast trying to.
Okay but a more minor development that never got backtracked is that Stacy DID find out Perry's secret identity and I think that could make for an amazing addition to the B plot. Speaking of which I can see the B plot being like Doof not exactly getting retconed but instead struggling with doing good like he does in doof 101. Perry gets sent to stop him still but not because he's actively doing evil plans, because he's accidently tripping over himself trying to do good and failing so hard he swings wildly in the other direction.
@joaco7103 I hope it's actually both, they were an amazing duo for that short gag in the halloween episode and it lowkey made me more invested in a potential Vanesstacy ship than I ever would be in Ferbnessa. But even as a friendship I'd be super interested in their interactions.
@@tomsparrow1823 if this revival takes place 1 years after the summer original, That's means that Vannesa is in the O.S.B.A, Dan said in one interview if I'm not wrong that he wanted to follow-up the plot of Stacy and Perry in the movie of Candace , but he couldn't for the time, I'm excited for "The Candace Suit" and Meap Episode! Some episodes according to Dan in his Tiktok takes place on the time line of Act your Age
My favourite running gag is the husband who makes reckless purchase, gets yelled at by his wife and the ideal circumstances to make use of that purchase falls out of the sky due to antics elsewhere in the episode.
I had never watched Phineas and Ferb as a small child. I was more of a Nick Jr. kid at the time, but last summer I saw one of your videos and made it my mission to watch the ENTIRE series, all movies, the specials, and Milo Murphy’s Law before the end of summer. Towards the end of this huge binge watch, I went to a yard sale, and I’m now the proud owner of an official Disneyland Perry the Platypus that still makes noises and is in phenomenal condition as a token of that summer. Thank you for introducing me to one of the greatest Disney cartoons of all time!
For the whole Doof thing, It’s possible Doofenshmirtz had a massive relapse sometime in the timeline after Milo Murphy’s Law ended. And also, I personally believe the show takes place over the course of 2 summers (on account of the Santa’s Sleigh showing up in AT2D), and the show can pull this off in the exact same format, but they need to change two things: Candace and Doof’s motivations. Because pretty much everyone in the fandom knows about Candace against the universe, it’s possible they could continue the show with Candace genuinely wanting to show her mom the inventions rather than trying to bust them, which would make Candace be seen in a more respectable way. Doofenshmirtz can still roll into his evil tendencies, but it would also be nice to see him rebuild a burnt bridge every now and then. I also hope they have a stronger focus on continuity, but keep it episodic and character driven. I also think it would be nice to add in characters from Milo Murphy’s Law and Hamster and Gretel for an episode or two. But only in certain episodes.
Honestly I think the real thing is if the crew is having fun making the show. Shows like SpongeBob have run on for 25 years, even if the episodes aren’t amazing, you can see the fun the crew is having through the animation and references and on dans TikTok’s you can see the fun the crew has making these episodes. Even if you don’t enjoy it, the crew is having fun making it and that’s what I think matters.
About your theory: Dan explained how that was in the late 90s/early 2000s, and those are their concert clothes, and when they decided to get married it wasn’t much later, they just weren’t dressed like they were for a concert, which is why their clothes looked like that, they just wanted to dress to match Love Handel’s 80s style 15:14
30:07 When he said “Are the bugs coming back?!” I had a seizure that I couldn’t tell if it was from sudden laughter or a mini heart attack I can’t figure out if my reaction was humor, fear, or if I just jumped
Hi! My best educated guesses is that we'll see some P&F movement this summer. Mind you, Dan was producing P&F at the same time as Hamster and Gretel, so it may have been slower at the start than most animated TV shows. For background, I work in film/TV as a member of IATSE MPEG and was an intern at DreamWorks and Disney Streaming back in 2022. Dan's been pretty open about the whole P&F production process on his TikTok throughout 2023 and 2024. The first day of the writer's room was May 3, 2023 and the first line recording day was Sept 11, 2023. The OG series had 47-65 episodes per season and a typical 2D animated episode in the 2020s takes about 8-12 weeks from writing to final product (and that's with outsourced animation). That means at least 55 weeks for P&F alone (multiple episodes are worked on simultaneously). But with the dual producing, that definitely slowed things down along with the SAG strike. Animation writers aren't covered by the WGA, they're covered by IATSE TAG (the animation guild) and I don't think Dan is a SAG member, hence his earlier recording day. However, Ashley Tisdale and other actors are members. So they had to batch record Dan and other non-SAG members. OR similar to their Disney Channel live action shows, P&F is non-union for actors and they may have recorded lines anyways. Either way, with the music and overall complexity of this show, I think they're rounding out production in July/August and will release the show in the fall, so we'll be seeing teasers as the summer progresses and a release date becomes clear. First day of writer's room: www.tiktok.com/@danpovenmire/video/7229029896092437806 Dan's first line as Dr. Doof: www.tiktok.com/@danpovenmire/video/7277716883850317102?lang=en
but Doof and the kids don't ever really interact - like the first time the meet is during one of their specials where they travel to an alternate universe so it makes sense he's not in their song intro about their plans for summer. Maybe he'll be in this one though?
Remember Perry Is supposed to be a SECRET agent. And As implied by Candace’s “Mom! Phineas and Ferb are making a Title sequence!”. The brothers made the song.
I mean, Phineas and Ferb made a full on city wide roller coaster, they founded an animation studio at the age of like, 9 ½, they saved the planet like 3 times within 1 SUMMER, and did SO MUCH MORE. Heck, there was an entire episode about them making a phone + teleporter hybrid in like an hour or 2. Something tells me they can fully manufacture an iPhone 13 in 1 sitting using tech from 2008.
4:21 Growing up as the older sister in the house, Candace is so relatable. When it feels like your younger sibling gets away with everything, you eventually just want them to get in trouble for anything. Of course Candace is overdramatic about it in the show but its still fun to have a relatable character lol.
the thing that Phineas and Ferb is inextricably linked to in my head personally is this music teacher I had in middle school that was obsessed with the show. he would make lesson based around certain episodes (I vaguely remember him using the band love handle in one lesson), he would BLAST a speaker on the desk of any kid who was caught falling asleep playing the perry the platypus theme song. dude was *obsessed*.
imo, since it is coming back, the series needs to move forward and not reset charter progress and continuity. If we must do this, have doof be good. At least at the start. And don't be afraid to drop in the them as adults time line or to even change it. And know that the show real had no place to go. The story was over. A series set in the teen to adult years would be way more interesting. And don't forget Milo.
I disagree. I want some classic Phineas and Ferb episodes dropped in the original summer (or two based on fanons). It would be nice to see a few future episodes and a Milo crossover would be fun, but I don't think changinng from the original story is a good idea especially since Phineas and Ferb runs on negative continuity
33:02 that right there is what I also need at least an episode or two maybe right before a summer break or after one, or maybe one where they’re older like middle school or freshman in high school
I think one idea that could work in the revival is in one of the episodes that was confirmed for Season 5. There's an episode called "Agent T (For Teen)"; could work as a plot focusing on Stacy & Perry; she knows about Perry being a secret agent since "Happy Birthday, Isabella" (Season 4).
News as of like 2 days ago from a vid Dan put out: the first episode is fully animated, and he thinks it looks incredible. Hopefully this means a “this year” release
Just hesterday (as of writing this comment), dan povenmire uploaded a songwriting session for a song about hats. From what I got from that video, it sounds like there's going to be an episode where perry is getting a new hat. The lyrics suggest that the person singing says stuff about crime fighting, and swampy even said "perry wouldn't do that" (I think). You definitely should follow dan if you want sneak peaks of the phineas and ferb revival, because he sometimes drops new details. Oh, and it also shows what progress they have done.
I think the show will stay mostly the same, but they will add characters from Milo Murphy’s Law in certain episodes(but not all of them), and Candace will genuinely want her parents to see the inventions instead of the busting, and Doof will probably stay evil but try to do a good deed or rebuild a burnt bridge every now and then.
I really like the doofen smarts thing is actually a really easy fix. In his classroom. He can be working on something and accidentally clone himself but the clone is evil. Then Perry will sometimes have to go talk to Good doof to get information about bad doof. And I'm sure sometimes bad doof will try and take good doofs place to get away with stuff. And I'm sure good doof will accidentally make a mistake. I need a call Perry the platypus because he accidentally did something evil and he needs help cleaning it up. Maybe rogue science experiments?
29:29 I think a funny idea would be to have a normal episode with a good doof and the regular A plot, but during the episode, the B plot takes place and something goes wrong and something happens to Perry and he gets like transformed or something and now HE is evil, so Doof and Perry can still have their rivalry while being able to bring in new and creative ideas for the show.
Re: no news since for the new show. Dan Povenmire makes shorts / tiktoks from the production quite often. He made a few while they were writing episodes, made one when they started recording the lines and on the first song recording, etc. From what we’re seeing there it seems to be going along well, apart from the fact that it was announced basically when it was signed and no team had been assembled.
i think it will be hilarious to see doof just like help phineas and ferb make inventions, and perry is just so confused and like thinking how awkward this is. and doof and perry should have a rivalry that they never talk about out loud, by like using like hand threats in secret.
They should make it about Phineas and Ferb at school, and their teacher trying to get them in trouble with the principal anytime they build some crazy contraption. Maybe even have an episode where Candice volunteers for a some kind of school activity, and both Candice and the teacher are trying to get Phineas and ferb in trouble, but are accidentally messing up each other schemes.
Summer 2025 makes sense. The show is about summer vacation, trying to launch it with some hype around kids getting out of school would be great for ratings I'm sure
personally I think a revival would be cool It's odd to continue but its not really story driven soooooo also even if its bad just simply dont watch it again
Maybe instead of Doof returning to evil the B plot could be Doof and Perry teaming up to bring down LOVEMUFFIN as mayb Doff would feel guilty about creating a whole villain organization and then turning good and perhaps there will be times he’s tempted to go back k to evil, or his old evil friends just want to continue their efforts to rule the whole/ revenge on Doof for him helping OWCA in the last day of summer.
15:30 I'm pretty sure Dan's stated a few times that this is intended to be a retro throwback 80's concert occurring in the early 2000s. But you wouldn't know that from the series itself. 20:50 The bugs actually dated back to the original pitches of Phineas and Ferb. Dan and Swampy had wanted FOUR storylines in every episode. The executives requested they be removed for being too confusing, which was genuinely a really good move. I also don't find them funny. (You can vaguely see seeds of their inspiration in these two semi-recurring talking bugs named Olga and Chicago Joe from VERY early season 1 when the show hadn't really settled on a tone yet)
I love that Ferb and Vanessa was made cannon in the fast forward episode. Dude was trying to impress her and date her from pretty early in the show, dude had a huge crush on her. I doubt they started actually dating till Ferb was actually 18, but an 6-8 year age difference isn't that big as long as they are both adults. Not gonna fault Vanessa for falling for the absolute chad that is Ferb, and im not gonna fault Ferb for falling for the Hot Punk Girl turned Beautiful Woman. I was shipping them together when I was a kid/teen, they had good chemistry when they were allowed to share screen time.
I feel like with most shows, a revival doesn’t “need” to exist. Only the ones that were cut short and ended on cliffhangers. But a lot of beloved shows could come back and while not needed, doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. It just depends on the execution of the revival.
I think the big thing for me is that it seems like Dan Povenmire would like absolutely nothing more than to make more Phineas and Ferb. Most of the shows that go on past their prime seem to be due to studio or corporate pressure, but this looks like "Dan and Swampy want to make more Phineas and Ferb"
13:56 Dan Povenmire actually explained this in one of this videos. The first date actually happened late 90s early 2000's and Linda and Lawrence were already single parents with the kids at home with babysitters. They made Love Handel an 80s hairmetal band purely because they thought it was funny.
No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy. Sometimes I just want it to STAY SAVED. Y'know, for a little while. I feel like the maid. I JUST CLEANED UP THIS MESS. Can we keep it clean? FOR TEN MINUTES?
Phineas and Ferb never really left, especially after the finale they just kept popping in new projects and stuff to the point it hasn’t really felt like it’s been that long since we’ve seen them, so I really these new seasons as yet another new thing from the franchise won’t stop.
So, one of the episodes in the revival is called "Lord of the Firesides", and I immediately recognized the fact that the title parodies the book "Lord of the Flies", so what if the Fireside Girls (Or heck, the whole gang) are stranded on an island like the boys in the classic novel? Sounds like a fun concept. Edit: In "Bully Bromance Breakup" we see that Phineas (And to a lesser extent, Ferb) goes into withdrawl when not inventing. I realized that if stranded on an island, Phineas and Ferb would be able to invent a way off, but what if Isabella keeps rejecting his help to earn a patch or something? Would be fun to see Phineas keep asking if she needs help
There are a few other inconsistencies with the Flynn-Fletcher family that I can see. In the episode where Phineas and Ferb get turned into babies, Candace sends a picture of them to her mom, who passes it off as an old baby photo. This indiactes that its not strange for Phineas and Ferb to have baby photos together. That said, in the episode where Phineas and Ferb get busted and sent to the Smile Away Reformatory, there is a sequence where it seems Ferb is introduced to Candace and Phineas when they were past the toddler stage. But thats a song sung by Stacy within a dream within a dream so 🤷♂️ It ultimately doesn't matter that much, but its been on my mind for awhile.
Simple solution for the B plots. Have some of doof's creations go rouge. Lets say that doof has a ton of machines that have activated and are working autonomously. We still get the backstories explaining why he made this, we still get a perry and doof where perry must stop a machine, doof is just now on the other side.
"This is Disney we're talking about, so , I guess I'm not particularly worried. Writing good songs is... Kinda, their thing." *This Is The Thanks I Get ringing off from the distance*
only just started this video, but can I just say how much I'm loving these types of videos you're putting out? like, I love these sort of videos where we look back on a beloved series and ask if it's really all the hot stuff. I'd love to see more videos like this. for suggestions, maybe a gravity falls or adventure time video?
So, I’ve actually been friends with Swampy for like, 10 years at this point, and back in March I got to take a tour of the studio. Of course, I can’t really tell you much… NDA, but also I still actually don’t know much, since when you tour an animation studio that’s making episodes of a TV show, you’re basically just going to see fragments of the process anyways. But it’s clear that the crew is having a blast making the show.
9:55 I’m sorry, did you reduce Buford as "the bully" ? He speaks fluent French and Latin, he has life-sized molds of all his friends, is the go-to person when you need a very niche trinket/musical instrument, he has a real soft spot for his pet goldfish, he knows enough about psychology to appease Candace’s primal urges inside of her mind, he can actually appreciate and respect nerdy culture, and he has one of the most ambiguous relationships in the show with Baljeet. Basically, whenever something weird needs to happen to a character, it’s Buford. And it works !
if the show still isn't out in 2025 you should make a Keyan Carlile style video for phineas and ferb where you go over every phineas and ferb episode in a really long vid
Doofenshmirtz going back to being evil is already explained in the original show, in the holiday specials which take place after the original summer he's back to being evil so its clear he didn't stay good for long.
I watched this show dubbed in Finnish, and the fact that they translated/localized the songs so well is mindblowing in hindsight. The effort was incredible.

Good grief.
@@DoofenSpyroDragon16 it would be out of style at this point for sure if they were gonna do it it should have been released at least 2 years ago
That would be hilarious honestly!! And ngl Phineas and Ferb’s house would have been the place to BE during quarantine. They’d probably build a tiny theme park in their room out of toys and then shrink themselves down to play in it or some other cool thing like that
@@DoofenSpyroDragon16 They could probably change it to something like "they're stuck in their house because of lots of snow"
@@SomeRand0mNerd Or very bad weather like hurricanes
Another part of Phineas and Ferb's formula that doesn't get enough credit is how it breaks one of the biggest "rules" for writing a story: giving the main character(s) a conflict to deal with. Obviously the pair (and their friends) deals with conflicts in some episodes, but nothing bad ever happens to them. There are almost never any real stakes. I heard somewhere that the show wasn't even originally picked up because the idea that nothing bad ever happens to P&F was expected to make it extremely uninteresting. It gets around this issue by writing the other characters to have their own conflicts.
I remember Dan, one of the creators, stated somewhere that Phineas and Ferb are the setting rather than than the story (or something of that nature).
Let's be real, so much of the best stuff in storytelling comes from breaking the rules creatively.
That's because Candace and Doof are the actual main characters. The B-plot is actually the main one. Phineas and Ferb's creations are the backdrops for the episode, rather than the actual focus. The special episodes are the only ones that Phineas, Ferb, and friends actually undergo any development.
@@spiritedcloud He said that P&F were the B-plot and Perry was the A-plot.
yep, Phineas and Ferb are the setting, Candace and Doof are the A and B plots

This can be paralleled with our newly developed "enjoy every day" Candace, where she tries to get their mom to NOT see what the boys are doing and succeeds; there's an entire episode in P&F about that exact thing.
ooh yes continue with that.
I really like this. I feel like it’s definitely something they can pull off, and even if it doesn’t happen in season five, I can definitely see it happening in season six
My only problem with that premise is that it took derailing an entire show to recognize that potential. Milo Murphy’s Law deserved so much better
With Doof, i feel like the reason would be something like this:
"I want to, but turns out i have 1 more year until my evil license expires- and I paid a lot of money for this! I don't want the money to go to waste."
That’s perfect
Would just be amazing
Or maybe he forgot to cancel his Suscribtion for Evil and well... He has paid it now.
Fun Fact: The bugs were part of the original pitch for the show. But it was decided having 3 ongoing plots would make it too complicated.
Which is honestly probably for the best. They were. Never very funny.

I believe that was their approach in Milo Murphy's Law.

Interesting, could work
YES!!!! Love this idea!!!!
One title of the episodes of the revival is called ''Agent T (For adolescent)'' It's Stacy or Vannesa episode
But only in certain episodes.
i remind you that due to the original specials in the series, doofenshmirtz MUST become evil again some time by christmas before the next summer.
True but I would’ve preferred good guy Doof 😢
and more or less Halloween. He wasn't inherently evil, but he did imply that he would usually trap Perry.
I don't think those episodes are canon
Honestly I think the real thing is if the crew is having fun making the show. Shows like SpongeBob have run on for 25 years, even if the episodes aren’t amazing, you can see the fun the crew is having through the animation and references and on dans TikTok’s you can see the fun the crew has making these episodes. Even if you don’t enjoy it, the crew is having fun making it and that’s what I think matters.
31:20 I was at the comic con and I saw one minute clip of a song from the new season. Trust me you have nothing to worry about it looks fantastic.

Looking back isn’t it insane Doof isn’t in the intro, like he’s a main character in every episode and not in the intro
tbf the title sequence is all abt phineas & ferb (and candace) so it'd be hard to shove doof in there
but Doof and the kids don't ever really interact - like the first time the meet is during one of their specials where they travel to an alternate universe so it makes sense he's not in their song intro about their plans for summer.
Phineas and Ferb in school with Doofenschmirtz as teacher.
imo, since it is coming back, the series needs to move forward and not reset charter progress and continuity.

The accidental Goofensmerch thing sent me places!! I can never return now. I'm gone. that was so funnyXD
We actually know that doof had a relapse to being evil, as shown in the holiday specials from the original show.

Seeing how excited Dan is about making more phineas and ferb again has me excited for it.
Hasn’t phineas and ferb basically never stopped? Pretty much every show the creators have made after it was set in the same universe
Random fun fact: in the first Phineas and Ferb game, during a roller coaster ride you can actually end up in China through a hole in the ground
My theory is that Doof is trying to be good but his inventions go wrong so Perry needs to help.
13:25 i will DIE on the hill that We Are The Moms is the best underrated song in the series
Summer 2025 makes sense. The show is about summer vacation, trying to launch it with some hype around kids getting out of school would be great for ratings I'm sure
personally I think a revival would be cool It's odd to continue but its not really story driven soooooo also even if its bad just simply dont watch it again
14:00, Dan Povenmire did a video called "Dan Answers Phineas and Ferb Questions", where he answers all of this.
Dude We’re Getting The Band Back Together is one of my absolute favorites as well, glad I’m not alone!
The question is not "Does this NEED to happen," it is more "Do we WANT this to happen?" Yes.
I really really hope the bug trio willbe back for a few episodes at least, I personally loved the idea and see its potential

Dang that Goofy impression is spot on 😂
13:56 Dan Povenmire actually explained this in one of this videos.
Cant wait for one of the kids to become a social media star and just keeps on talking about how famous he/she is.
Does ANYTHING actually "need" to exist? No. But it'll be fun, and people will enjoy it, and that justifies its creation by itself.
But thats a song sung by Stacy within a dream within a dream so 🤷♂️
It ultimately doesn't matter that much, but its been on my mind for awhile.
My favorite Phineas and Ferb song is robot riot
Simple solution for the B plots. Have some of doof's creations go rouge. Lets say that doof has a ton of machines that have activated and are working autonomously. We still get the backstories explaining why he made this, we still get a perry and doof where perry must stop a machine, doof is just now on the other side.
‘Aren’t you a little old to be watching cartoons?’
Me: No, no I’m not 😎
"This is Disney we're talking about, so , I guess I'm not particularly worried. Writing good songs is... Kinda, their thing."
*This Is The Thanks I Get ringing off from the distance*
I don't think either a Phineas & Ferb revival or a Gravity Falls revival NEEDS to happen, but I desperately WANT them to happen.
As a kid i never realized that buford was the comedic relief but he is almost exclusively cracking jokes and they all hit
only just started this video, but can I just say how much I'm loving these types of videos you're putting out? like, I love these sort of videos where we look back on a beloved series and ask if it's really all the hot stuff. I'd love to see more videos like this. for suggestions, maybe a gravity falls or adventure time video?
YESSS THIS NEW VIDS HAVE BEEN AWESOME
So, I’ve actually been friends with Swampy for like, 10 years at this point, and back in March I got to take a tour of the studio. Of course, I can’t really tell you much… NDA, but also I still actually don’t know much, since when you tour an animation studio that’s making episodes of a TV show, you’re basically just going to see fragments of the process anyways. But it’s clear that the crew is having a blast making the show.
Remember the aglet song lol
Omg that is my childhood I still remember it 😭
A-G-L-E-T, AGLET DONT FORGET IT 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Dan Povenmire said that that episode is his legacy since generations know what an aglet is now. It's so wholesome
Through the eye of a needle, time to loosen your tongue. Got a tip howta make ends meet!
If they do comeback, I hope they continue the Milo Murphy's Law cliffhanger.
