Are using the hard wire method? Using the OTG adapter to connect the RC to the phone right? Because there is no WiFi signal at the bar. I'm impressed if the hard wire method is working. I flew today with WiFi using RC and managed to get 663m only before my spark and RC disconnected.....
I actually am an owner, and I'm also connected trough wire (with airplane mode on). And it is showing the wifi bars for me, but you are free to tell the story your way :)
The 8km thing kinda confuses me. If the craft can fly (according to DJI - www.dji.com/spark/info#specs) 16 minutes (no wind at a consistent 12.4 mph (20 kph)) - So by my math 20km/h / 4 gets you about 5km distance in 15mins? How did you manage 8km with 15% remaining? Battery mod?
Normally at the wifi symbol near the top right of the screen, there should be an wifi indicator indicating what wifi freqency e.g. 2.4g or 5.8g. How come yours is not lighted up and no frequency indicator? I am curious as to which frequency you are using to get such a range?
How come your video is so good? Mine gets all jittery and pixelated. Only the one saved on the SD card has a nice quality. Also, how can you have video flying this far???

Varias vezes se percebe que falta um tempo depois retorna e mostra que falta mais tempo pra acabar a bateria. Por isso estou na dúvida de ser verdade o vídeo.
I already did 3.500m range with my spark, and I also did maximum distance flown 8.223m so I believe it from my experience, without changing antenas, just a dish booster, I could show the photo even, so who did the math is very wrong, and I also already flown 16m10s with the spark landing at 6% battery.

I guess your spark battery is super powered battery and you have to collect 7 orange balls with some stars inside and ask the dragon to grant you that wish so your spark can fly 4KM far!
Theortically the video footage timing is wrong or " messed up . The spark max speed is 3m/sec ..that is 180 meters per minute. With a flight time of around 15 minutes, we can travel only 2700 meters. So the video is showing 4000 meters which is technically incorrect. Anyway stay tuned, I shall be making a You Tube using my battery mod on the Spark to travel a bit more ( NOT 4KM) using a 1000mAH 40C /3S battery weighing the same as the original Spark battery. slyplaymike1 no. I got my spark 1500 meters away in ce mode and in fcc 2300 meters! I used extra antenna and otg cable with ce mode and nothing in fcc mode! Spark Remote is powerful🙂

Sibu Jacob the manual says sparks max soeed is 50 km/hr in sports mode.it should translate to almost 14 m/sec I guess.

I think with Obstacle Avoidance on u r limited to 3m/s, turn it off and get a remote and u r good.
