I recused a Siberian in my Alaska town’s shelter. She’s had a hard life. She was declawed and hissed growled at me love her. Six weeks later she’s sleeping with me, let’s me pet her. She’s around other cats now so she just sticks her nose in air and completely ingnores them. lol

I think it's paying off that you keep your huskies and cats challenges. They are wary when something new comes up, but they quickly muster the confidence to deal with it (even Olive, except it takes her a little longer; she's also the "work smarter not harder" type). Walking on a squishy surface (eg. water baloons) or putting your head in a hole (walk through a "window" in the paper cup wall) can be dangerous in nagure, so I think it takes them a lot of bravery to go against their instincts.
The two little guests were also funny when dealing with the baloons, just like watching children with a new toy. Monty pawing the baloons was so funny! Or Olive figuring out that "water" is dry.
I'm also surprised you have any wood floor left - I'd imagine all those sharp nails running at full speed and jumping would have sanded them off by now. :-)
