Then why’d he target the queen? Because the queen is very powerful and he was using us for the perfect opportunity to infect the queen. Idk it’s just a theory.
If you think about it we're the reason he's able to infect Queen Grumble, she spotted us moments after escaping him, she likely heard his screams growing near the nest and came to check it out, and thus spotting us. In the sewers chase and Floor 2 ending cutscene, it's made clear she's seeking us out through the mines after we escape the nest, but leaving left her vulnerable and out of her element, allowing Seek to infect her
I prefer Seek as the primary antagonist of the game over Figure, not that Figure was bad or anything just Seek's themes hit way harder for a more powerful and intelligent threat.
