Get three extra bodies with robes or such like company heros, keep the captain and ancient for characters and use the other 3 bodies to make 3 more ICC with the leftover bits
Bladeguard work amazingly well to make the most of all the extra arms options. I know for a while they were pretty expensive even secondhand but might be worth looking into.
For leaders there are three great options: Judiciar Chaplain Asmodai Judiciar gives first first and will enjoy hitting characters on 2s to start racking up extra attacks. Chaplain gives them +1 to wound, so a great stack buff to allow lethal hits to be a bonus instead of a crutch with -1 to be hit and +1 to hit. Removing battleshock for free is handy but niche. And asmodai giving reroll hits to everyone, gaining CP on character kills, and giving their 2OC an edge with forced battleshock tests every fight phase. Vowed target can easily replace the chaplain, so judiciar or asmodai is my pick in that detachment.
I LOVE these guys, their aesthetic really appeals to me. I'm hardly a competitive player but I like to run ICC with Asmodai. It's actually a good fit; I've had a lot of success with them. I mostly do it though because I like to pretend they are sticking their tongues out and making funny faces at him behind his back LOL ! Seriously, bringing Fallen angels back into the main DA army was not something I thought I'd ever see from a lore/fluff perspective and having them guard Asmodai of all characters is a sweet irony that just makes me laugh. If there is anything I would like changed with them it would be that I wish they all had iron halos. I'd be willing to pay the extra points for those. I mean, they all literally have iron halos on their backpacks yet no rule. Still, it's clear GWs approach was to have Blade Guard be the defensive option while these guys are the offensive option so it is what it is and that's well enough. Thanks for the video ! ❤
I never encountered anyone who had a problem with proxying these. The iron halo on them is 4 ++ as blade guard. The shield doesnt give +1 wound anyway so bladeguard models can also be used as icc.
I wonder how well there durable they are if adding a Primaris Captain for the -1CP when using Armor of Contempt and an apothecary for bringging back any destroyed ICC models.
