Gurukula or Gurukulam Set Design

गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुर्गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः । गुरुः साक्षात् परब्रह्म तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥
A Gurukula or Gurukulam is a type of education system in ancient India with "shishya" living near or with the "guru", in the same house. The "Guru-Shishya" tradition is a sacred one. The students learn from the guru in his everyday life, including carrying out daily household chores. We at RVS, recreated the era of the Gurukul for our little Ridgeans to give them the feel of how our education system has developed but the respect for our Gurus remains the same. Students of Grade- 1& 2 were in the school to have the feel of our ancient Indian education system, wherein they had fun reciting shlokas, doing yoga and meditation to start their day afresh, playing Indigenous games like gilli danda, hopscotch, and pithu. Indeed, it was amazing to see how our youngest of all Ridgeans had a wonderful day while they listened to stories, did organic gardening so they can understand the importance of growing our own food, and understood the world of a Gurukul by using the chakki, and way of living at the Gurukul.
